There was a pause while she considered what he'd said. It seemed beyond impossible. Dreams were dreams, right? And they were working the Stark case, so it was logical that familiar faces would pop up in a dream. That didn't make them real.
"Remember that rash of weird dreams earlier in the month? Could be something to do with that. Or someone's playing a really elaborate prank. Or maybe we're both going off the goddamned deep end," she sighed, straightening slightly when the cashier came to the counter to take their order. "Two donuts for me, one jelly and one chocolate frosted. And whatever my partner wants."
He'd bought last time, so she figured it was her turn. It was only fair.
