AMY POND - Auto Mechanic's Shop
[info]whosscared
2013-01-27 08:41 pm UTC (link)
After a road trip with her buddy John, Amy decided it was time to take her car in to have the oil changed and fill it up with gas. She wanted to get it vacuumed out, and cleaned up a bit, a car wash, all the bells and whistles. She was at the garage now, sitting on the curb outside, waiting for them to finish with her car. She had a magazine sitting closed on the sidewalk beside her, and her phone was still in her pocket. She was just staring off into space, enjoying the quiet, brightly-lit-but-still-chilly street. California really was a beautiful place.

Billy had just been visiting with his friend Tink -- she'd been a lot more fun to hang out with recently since he'd been forced to quash his unrequited love for her. Now he could plot secret robot armies with her and not feel weird about it.

Unfortunately, he had a habit of walking around while staring at his phone -- and literally fell on top of the poor girl who had been sitting on the sidewalk.

Amy gave a little yelp as someone came by and literally fell on top of her. For a moment they were a tangle of arms and legs, but then her senses came back to her and she was able to extricate herself quickly from underneath him.

"Whoa... mate, you gotta watch where you're going..." she said, dusting her hands on her jeans. "Are you all right?"

APPLEJACK - Farmer's Market
[info]applemark
2013-01-27 08:41 pm UTC (link)
The Farmer's Market was still going strong through the wintertime. Though, the produce was changing week to week now, lots of leafy vegetables and citrus fruits. AJ missed the stone fruits of the summertime. And strawberries. Her freezer collection was nearly out. She hated to buy fruit in the off seasons, as it always tasted... well, not good. She shopped the Farmer's Market every time she could, every weekend. Sometimes she helped her brother at the family's stand, and sometimes wandered and shopped. It was here at the Farmer's Market that she bought her food for the week. She was there today, wandering between the stalls, perusing the wares.

Percy didn't go to the farmer's market often, really -- he wasn't much of a food person in any regard -- but after having been sick with the Blue Flu he had decided maybe he'd try a little harder with life.

So, he saw no reason not to buy local food, at fair prices. It was good for everyone, after all.

Currently, he was assessing some weird looking leafy vegetables, and he had to admit that he didn't really know the difference between one and the other.

AUDREY - Baxter Bakery
[info]bidabble
2013-01-27 08:42 pm UTC (link)
It was getting toward the end of her shift at the Bakery. Audrey was sitting out in the main room with her book keeping and laptop at a table, so she could work on official bakery business.. It was between the breakfast rush, and still a little early for lunch, so the place wasn't as full as she normally liked. There were a few people on the computers, though, and a couple chatting at tables. Audrey seemed to feed off of the energy of the patrons of the shop. She leaned back in her chair a little, glancing around the shop, giving up on her order placing for a moment so that she could just enjoy the atmosphere.

Merlin was working a different shift at work this week which meant he hadn't had the chance to get his usual cupcake fix, something he was going to rectify today. He'd discovered it on one of his first explorations of the area and loved it immediately. He probably spent way too much time there but it was peaceful and the owner was nice and didn't seem to think he was too odd. That was definitely a bonus.

Entering the shop he headed straight to the counter to look at the cupcakes on offer that morning.

GWEN STACY - Local Target
[info]chocolate_house
2013-01-27 08:42 pm UTC (link)
Moving out to California from the East Coast (again) meant that she had all the wrong kinds of clothes. She found herself sweating a lot, wearing thick pants and thick shirts, perfect for the wintertime in New Jersey, but in Orange County they were overkill. So she headed to a local Target to see if she could find some cheap clothes that would work better in California than all the things that she brought. She wouldn't do a major shopping trip until after she was working and had an income. But she found a few things that she really liked, and then took to wandering around the store, trying to remember if she needed anything else at her apartment.

GWEN STACY and MARTHA JONES - Local Target
[info]greyhoundsix
2013-01-27 09:31 pm UTC (link)
Martha had been trying to get out more and fulfill her New Year's Resolution, now that the whole Flu epidemic was over and she was getting used to her schedule at the hospital. Realizing that she had begun to run low on a few groceries, Martha headed out and was going to go to the grocery store when she passed a Super Target and thought of a few others things she needed or wanted to look at and at Super Target she'd be able to kill two birds with one stone. Parking her car a few spots from the door, she jogged across the parking lot and into the building, grabbing a cart and heading towards the non-grocery side first; figuring anything perishable would be better off if she waited until she was ready to leave to get those things.

HERMIONE GRANGER - UCLA Bookstore
[info]her_my_nee

Hermione was in UCLA's bookstore on campus, looking for a new notebook. She'd gotten the metal spiral of her notebook caught and bent out of shape, and now it didn't fit in her book bag. She needed a new one, and was perusing the notebooks to find just the right one. Had to be college rule, not too big, but definitely enough pages... and the right color. Obviously. A lot had happened in Hermione's life over the last few weeks, so she was taking her time and trying not to let the distractions of the semester get to her. That was a battle that she was losing. She turned around the aisle, and nearly ran into someone in her distracted state.

The hospital was a lot slower and less crowded after the Blue Flu, but McCoy's schedule was picking up a bit. There were less people for him to check in on, but people still needed surgery. Both planned and emergency surgeries. He was also head of his department, so he had scheduling to do, and ordering of supplies, and other random things. Now he was taking a walk through the hospital, trying to stretch out his back and give his mind a few minutes to wander. Thinking about Neena gave it a very nice place to wander. He turned a corner and started down the hallway, but paused when he heard someone calling out his name.

Nikola was glad to see the campus busy again. He'd been around a bit during the Blue Flu, before he ended up in the hospital, and the place was absolutely dead. It was good to see students wandering around, talking, listening to music. It was good to see professors preparing classes and talking animatedly with students. Everything seemed to be much more alive than only a couple of weeks ago. He was normally rather reserved, but Nikola could be found walking across campus with a smirk on his features this morning. Even on a Sunday, things were busier than normal.

Jane was walking across the campus, nose buried in her text book as she went. She had to get on top of things after being off with the Blue Flu. She still got a little tired after a long day at uni, but she worked through it. She didn't want to disappoint Professor Carter. She just finished a particularly interesting chapter about proton gradients when she ran straight into someone.

PANSY MALFOY - Coffee Shop
[info]pansymalfoy

Pansy had her headphones in her ears as she waited in line at the coffee shop. She'd never been one for Church, and as soon as she became an adult, she stopped going. She spent most Sunday mornings lately by herself, wandering around. Or sleeping in. This morning she'd slept in for a while, then headed out for brunch. All on her own. The coffee shop had a wide selection of bagels and sandwiches, lots of things that she could choose from for her brunch-shaped meal. She was listening to "Walkin' on Sunshine" (a very not!Pansy song) and bopping along with the music in her ears. It was probably so loud that people around her could hear it.

She probably wouldn't be very surprised to see Zuko there as well. It wasn't a very well kept secret that the Japanese boy did not cook, and when he wasn't with Draco, he tended to go out to eat. Or for coffee. He was really, really, starting to love coffee.

He wandered into the place a few minutes after her -- and so not to look like a jackass, he waited until they were both done with the line to go say hello.

PRINCESS CADENCE - Park Bench
[info]princesscadence

Cadence was skipping church again today. And she felt very, very guilty about it. When all the girls in her Sorority house had dressed and gone out, she'd dressed, too, and pretended. Now she was in a park, sitting on a bench, and staring off into the grass nearby. She felt incredibly guilty that her faith was falling apart, and felt like she didn't have someone to talk to about all of it. She was questioning God, questioning herself, questioning her upbringing. She'd been sitting on the bench for an hour now, ignoring the buzzing of her phone in her purse and trying not to cry--again. Though, there were snail trails down her cheeks where the tears had gone.

"Are you all right?" John Watson wasn't usually a very nosy sort of person, but he was occasionally unable to stop himself. Particularly when there were young women silently crying in the park.

She didn't seem hurt, but (as a Doctor) he felt he should ask anyway.

SAM WINCHESTER - Sandwich Shop
[info]sammmy
2013-01-27 08:44 pm UTC (link)
It was lunch time on Sunday, and Sam didn't have anything in his fridge. Well, he had a few things, but they were all reserved for dinner tonight. He was going to cook for dinner, cooking enough to freeze some and have a couple of home cooked meals throughout the week without having to cook. It was something he did almost every week, eating healthy was sort of his thing. But since he was cooking for dinner, he was out at the sandwich shop today, ordering lunch. It would save some of the time he had to spend in his kitchen over a hot stove. Besides, he had some reading he wanted to do, so he needed that time. He picked up his tray with his sandwich on it, and turned to go sit and eat inside the shop.

Severus was out with Daisy. He'd gone for a walk with the girl, taking turns pushing the little, umbrella stroller, and stopped only when they reached the park near their home. He was sitting nearby, letting Daisy play with the sand while he watched. It was a nice day, though a bit chilly. He was thinking it might be time to head home when the little girl Daisy had been playing nearby left with her mother. But he wanted to let her get some more fresh air and sunshine before heading home.

Tink was walking along the street holding her phone. It was making these strange, beeping and echoing noises as she walked, growing faster and more frequent as she approached a mural on the wall. She was playing a GPS-based game called Ingress, where she was placing resonators on landmarks in the Ingress map, but she had to be within forty meters of the landmark to do so. This one had blue resonators on it, which was the other team. Tink dropped a couple of well placed level six bombs and took out the deteriorated blue resonators before putting her own, green ones in their place. It was a good game, and Tink enjoyed it. It had her walking all over the city, which was good for her health, too.

Verity was behind the counter, ringing up purchases this morning. Normally Saturdays and Sundays were the most busy days at the shop, and Verity didn't really mind working them. She was going to take a couple of days off, anyway, to go to the Superbowl with her Dad. And she was hoping that the boys didn't mind that too much. Verity was a hard worker, and absolutely pulled her own weight. She knew the shop backward and forward, too--though, nowhere near as well as Fred and George did. It was a particularly busy morning, Verity assumed that because everyone was feeling better from the Blue Flu they were out shopping. She turned at the sound of someone calling for her.

Well, he wasn't really calling for her, persay. It was more like Mako had been trying to find a specific shirt on a pile of shirts. And then all of those shirts had fallen to the ground. His call had actually been a loudly muttered swearword, that had also just happened to sound a bit urgent.

WALL-E - Park
[info]strongsilentype

There were ducks at the park. Really adorable ones, too. Wally was at the park with a bag of bread. It was a bag he'd picked up from one of the ladies on his route. Because he always looked so dissheveled and dirty, she thought he was homeless, or something, and she often gave him food. He didn't need the food, he had his own, but he took the bag of bread and went to the park to feed the ducks. It was almost a weekly thing now, for the past few weeks, and the ducks seemed to like his company. So he was squatting by the duck pond this morning, tossing bread crumbs into the water so the ducks could all come over and eat. It was as if every duck in the park knew about this ritual, and had come running to spend time with him.

Portia was walking through the park going over in her head what she needed to update in her portfolio before her interview. She hadn't had a proper interview for a while and was almost nervous. Still a walk almost always cleared her head, it was fairly quiet at this time of day and she smiled as she neared a man who was feeding the ducks.

"They really like you" she said with a smile, "Is it just ducks or are you a Doctor Doolittle to all animals?" she asked.
