It was weird to think of everything that she'd left behind. No, that wasn't true. More like it was weird to think of everything she'd gained. She'd moved to the OC in order to start a life. Something away from the military life. With no intentions of becoming anyone's military wife either. She'd grown up an Army brat and hated every waking moment of it, especially the moving around. Never staying in a place long enough to make friends. In the OC, she'd managed to make friends. Even fell into a friendship and relationship with one Harry Dresden. The relationship wasn't one that she'd expected. It had smacked them both in the face, though. They'd decided to spend time with one another. Get to know each other a bit more. (Outside of the damn dreams that kept happening) She'd even fallen in love with his precious little girl, Maggie. Someone that she loved to pieces and would die for. They'd moved her into the house just a few days ago. Easier for Harry to keep track of her. Or, at least that was the tease that came with it. (Possibly a little truth, too) He'd be able to be there if she ever died in her dreams again, just like before. The extra furniture, due to Thomas' insistence, was put in storage instead of gotten rid of. He'd said something about using it and making it a bit more homey for her too, but if they didn't need it then she didn't see the point. So, for now, it was in storage. At the moment, however, she's in the kitchen with a cup of coffee. Freshly brewed and hot. If there's breakfast waiting for him, then so be it. There was probably something even waiting for a certain little someone too. "Morning." Unfortunately, it would probably take a bit for her to sleep in while being in a new place. Or, in general. Being an army brat... well, she'd gotten used to being up at the ass crack of dawn. |
