Time is always on our side
Love is there to be our guide

It was weird to think of everything that she'd left behind. No, that wasn't true. More like it was weird to think of everything she'd gained. She'd moved to the OC in order to start a life. Something away from the military life. With no intentions of becoming anyone's military wife either. She'd grown up an Army brat and hated every waking moment of it, especially the moving around. Never staying in a place long enough to make friends.

In the OC, she'd managed to make friends. Even fell into a friendship and relationship with one Harry Dresden. The relationship wasn't one that she'd expected. It had smacked them both in the face, though. They'd decided to spend time with one another. Get to know each other a bit more. (Outside of the damn dreams that kept happening) She'd even fallen in love with his precious little girl, Maggie. Someone that she loved to pieces and would die for.

They'd moved her into the house just a few days ago. Easier for Harry to keep track of her. Or, at least that was the tease that came with it. (Possibly a little truth, too) He'd be able to be there if she ever died in her dreams again, just like before. The extra furniture, due to Thomas' insistence, was put in storage instead of gotten rid of. He'd said something about using it and making it a bit more homey for her too, but if they didn't need it then she didn't see the point. So, for now, it was in storage.

At the moment, however, she's in the kitchen with a cup of coffee. Freshly brewed and hot. If there's breakfast waiting for him, then so be it. There was probably something even waiting for a certain little someone too.

"Morning."

Unfortunately, it would probably take a bit for her to sleep in while being in a new place. Or, in general. Being an army brat... well, she'd gotten used to being up at the ass crack of dawn.

"Mmmmmf," Harry replied to the greeting. He'd never been a morning person. At least, not by choice. Life and work had tried to turn him into one, but it hadn't really taken. He got up because he had to, but most knew not to try to engage him in conversation until he'd had his coffee.

Andy was one who could get away with it. "Need. Coffee." He grumbled. He managed a smile, though, because he was genuinely happy to see her. Having her move in had been partly spontaneous, but functional too. He was very glad she had been staying with him the night she had died in her dreams.

And now she was a permanent resident of the compound. "Maggie will be down in a bit," he told her.

That greeting has her giving a slight chuckle. Harry definitely wasn't a morning person. Andy, however, hadn't gotten a choice growing up. There were days where she'd had to be up at the same time her dad had gotten up. Some of those days were at the ass crack of dawn. Four in the morning. Sometimes even five in the morning. There were even days where sleep was elusive and didn't come at all.

"Coffee's on the counter, handsome. Partially full pot," she tells him. If only because she had a cup of coffee already. Andy does, however, give him a smile. This whole spontanous thing with him was a bit amusing. Not that she'd change it for the world.

That smile widens a bit at the mention of Maggie," Good. There's waffles down here with her name on them. A certain someone has a plate of them too, once he sits his butt down."

"Waffles, huh? My favorite." Waffles were actually a favorite, at least. He liked them better than plain old pancakes or a bowl of cereal. "I'm sitting," he added, but he went to the counter to fix himself some coffee before he sat.

"Mmmm. The elixir of life," he said, wafting a smell of the coffee. He doctored it up with a little cream and sugar, but not too much. He liked his coffee strong, not weakened by sweetness.

His eyes flashed up at Andy and he smiled. Now that he was waking up a little more, he was grateful she was there.

"Yes, waffles," she says with a bit of a grin. "There might even be fresh blueberries or fresh strawberries to place on top too." If it comes out a bit teasing, then so be it. However, there was a certain way that Andy, herself, liked her waffles. Fruit added to them was always a bit better. Made for a very interesting, if albeit, semi-sweet breakfast. Healthy but not overly so, too.

She gives him a smile in return," Mm... yes, I know." Being an army brat, she'd grown up drinking coffee. It was pretty damn good to her. Now? It was a matter of Maggie coming downstairs. Though, Harry does end up with a plate sitting down in front of him the moment that he sits back down, after getting his coffee.

Whoever didn't like fruit with waffles had to be some kind of weirdo. At least that was what Harry was thinking when Andy set the plate in front of him. His eyes flashed up to give her a smile, and the moment his gaze locked on hers, he felt the entire world shift.

He knew what was happening because it had happened in his dreams. With the mob boss, Marcone. He'd shared a soul gaze, a moment of true understanding. Something that could never be taken back, because it allowed an exchange of the deepest truths to pass between two people.

In his gaze, Andy would see an honest and proud man, someone who fought the good fight even when he was beat down. Someone who truly believed in good in the world and in people. She'd see his truth, raw and unfiltered, like an eagle soring in the skies.

Honestly? If someone didn't like fruit on their waffles, or pancakes, were heathens. Not that she had a problem with what people liked on their food, she didn't. Honestly, she wasn't sure what in the world was going on. One minute things were fine and the next... well, she's not sure what happened.

Even in her dreams she had never seen something like this. Something that spoke volumes. She was already at ease with Harry, but this told her so much more. Not that she really had any problems with him to begin with. She didn't need anything to tell her what kind of man that he was.

Though, he'd possibly get the same out of her. Fierce, strong, proud and honest. Sometimes even brutally so. Someone who wanted to do good by people and help them as much as possible.

It took a moment after the moment passed, before he could speak. He cleared his throat. "That...well. The good thing is, it can't happen again." With the two of them. The bad news was, it could happen again for him and someone else. Anyone, everyone else.

"That's the soul gaze from my dreams," he told her in case she hadn't connected the dots.

A part of her had known what it was the moment that it happened. Partially due to the talks with him on the network about it. She hadn't, however, expected it to happen. That was new and weird. "Because it was already done or?"

She merely kisses his temple before moving and sitting down, she needed to for a moment after something like that.

"Yeah." Harry nodded. "Once two people have a soul gaze, that's it. It won't happen again." He gave her a little smile.

And small feet could be heard making tracks to the kitchen. "I think someone's hungry."

Maggie slipped into a chair with a yawn. "Smells so good."

"I'll keep that in mind. Hopefully, it was good enough for you."

That last bit is teasing even as she smiles hearing the patter of those feet. The moment that Maggie slips into the chair, however, she gets up and kisses the top of the little girl's head. "Morning, princess." Andy knew that she didn't have to do any of this, but she would. Hell, she enjoyed it.

Which is why Maggie has a plate of waffles set down in front of her and whatever type of juice or milk she wanted to go with it. After all of that was said and done she sits down to eat with the both of them.
