Lily hadn't exactly come clean with James about where she was going after work and she hadn't exactly told him about the conversation she had with Tonks. There was no need to get him all worked up when it was a situation that Lily felt she could handle herself. If things with south with Bellatrix then she would involve her goofy husband, but for the moment it was extremely personal.

Lily didn't know where Bellatrix lived, but she did know where the woman worked. She actually felt dirty pulling into the Absolute Truth Ministries parking lot and making her way into the office, but she was sure it was the right thing to do. Hit the woman where it hurt.

"I'm here to see Bellatrix Black," she told the receptionist. "Tell her it's about the fire."

The receptionist looked at Lily strangely, but went ahead and made the call.
