"In our order, there are several ranks," Ahsoka explained. "A Padawan is a learner, and that's what I was to you. Next is Knight, then Master and finally the Grand Master who leads the council. Obi-wan was the Knight to your Padawan, and was a Master when I became your Padawan after you were knighted."
It was a little bit of an oversimplification and left out the part where Knights and Masters were Generals and a Padawan was still somehow a Commander. Ahsoka rembered when she encountered Kaeden and Miara after the Empire had been established, and how messed up she realized she was when she realized Miara, preparing to rebel against the Empire, was the same age Ahsoka had been when she'd started fighting in the Clone Wars. It had been kind of hypocritical to try to keep Miara out of it, all things considered.
