There was nothing like the real thing and honestly, Dan would have preferred being out climbing an actual cliff face, but renting the equipment was expensive and buying it? Hell that was even more expensive! And considering Dan was just a bar owner these days, he would have to suffice for a reasonable facsimile. It was still just enough to get the heart pumping and a little bit of adrenaline dumped into his blood, the one thing Dan craved above all other vices.
It was something he craved more these days than usual. It would take some time settle into his new life as a bar owner and bar owner only. He'd given up black market work for Liv and he never regretted it. Not once. But Dan was still an adrenaline junkie. He needed the thrill.
He had the gear rented, harness strapped into place. He was about to hook himself up to the ropes for the advanced wall (the only wall in the place that could satisfy him), when someone backed into him.
Dan turned around sharply, every nerve coiled on instinct alone. Seeing the younger man behind him, he relaxed. "Nah, lad, yer alright," he said with a small smile. "Ah, thank ye," he said taking the rope, "are ye done?"
