Ozma was always up for meeting new people - whether they’d planned to meet or not so when she noticed the man she’d talked to on the network, about getting paid with a turkey not the wine thing, she couldn’t help herself. She had to go over and introduce herself. Especially since he’d mentioned being a private investigator and it could never hurt anything to know someone in that line of work when you lived a public life like hers. Either they might end up getting hired to investigate you (and then you don’t call the cops because some random person is following you) or you need to hire them to investigate someone for you. Hopefully neither of those would ever be an issue and she could just enjoy getting to know someone new.
“It’s Harry Dresden right? The investigator? I’m Ozma.”
***
Harry turned, then smiled. “Ozma. yes, we spoke online. How are you?” He looked her over taking in her rather nice form and grinned. “How are you doing?” He was glad to meet new people and make contacts. It helped in his work. And it didn’t hurt when they were hot.
***
Ozma smiled back at him. “Looking forward to the end of this snow honestly. Do you mind if I take a seat?” She asked. She noticed the look over he gave her but she didn’t react to it. She was used to that sort of reaction to her, it was how she made her living after all. Her looks and how people responded to them.
***
“Go on, sure. And I love it. As long as I have a jeep, and know where the snowplows are kept, i am fine.” he chuckled.
He smirked as he watched her, curious.
“What are you up to this evening?”
***
Ozma slid into the seat opposite his, smoothing her skirt down around her as she made herself comfortable. “I’d rather just avoid it. Or at least avoid swimsuit shoots until it’s over,” she said, shoving curls back over her shoulder as she met his gaze. “I just came out to have a drink and maybe meet some new people. You?”
***
“Why would anyone want to do a swimsuit shoot in this weather?” He shook his head. That was crazy. He grinned at her.
“Oh, I just finished directing the cops to the office of the manager, who was conspiring with a mobster to put a hit on some witnesses. I’m afraid he wont be around for a long time.” He smirked as he watched cops pull the manager, who was still looking stunned from seeing the evidence of his crimes produced, be hauled away by a band of cops.
He chuckled and sat back. “I do love a good day’s work.” His phone beeped and he looked at it, then nodded and he tapped out a text and then sat back.
“All done,. And I am all yours.”

“To get a jump start on the summer runs. If it wasn’t for the snow I’d be all over those jobs but I think I have to put my own interests ahead of my bank accounts at the moment.” Either that or ask Elsa if there was anything from the blonde’s dreams that might make her more tolerant of the cold.
She blinked as Harry told her what he’d been up too, turning to follow his gaze and almost laughing at the look on the man’s face. She turned back around, watching as the manager was pushed into the back of the police car. “He always seemed like such a nice man. But - I guess it’s just further proof that you never really know someone. I hope they lock him and his partner in a dark cell with nothing but bats and cockroaches to keep them company once the courts find them guilty.”
***
“Ahhh., okay. That makes sense.” He nodded and smiled. What a life!
After the man was gone, he grinned and nodded. “I’ll drink to that.” he chuckled. “And what’s next for you? More shoots or…?” he was curious about her.
***
“Hopefully they won’t shut this place down. Maybe his assistant will get put in charge.” Ozma said, looking around the place at the workers. She hoped they’d all be able to keep their jobs here. At least long enough to find a job where they weren’t working around and for a criminal.
“I’m taking some time to spend with friends but also I’m looking for shoots. I’m supposed to get together with a photographer tomorrow for a makeup shoot but I haven’t heard back about any other models being there so I’m not sure I’ll actually go. I’ve never worked with him before and I’m not entirely comfortable with the idea of this shoot being one on one.” New photographer, new makeup company and she’d heard too many horror stories about models who’d gone into situations like that and hadn’t been able to find very much information about him online.
***
“I hope you’re right. I know the company is not interested in shutting it down. Even with the inevitable scandal, they should be able to whether it.” Harry always did his research, all the research.
Listening to her, he nodded. “Don’t go. It’s not worth it to ignore your instincts. That is something I’ve learned the hard way. Not even a paycheck is worth it.” He didn’t like the idea of Ozma being hurt.
“I know a guy who is looking for models. He’s not big time, but still starting out. There wont be a big payday, but he is a good man and he uses lighting and digital effects to strip away how inside light usually alters skin tones. He has some pretty good work. And it’s always in groups.” he searched his pockets, and found a small card, and handed it over. The man he was talking of had been interviews and had a website and a lot of small contracts for small shots, but nothing big. But more, he had testimonials on his website. Verifiable ones.
“Here.”
***
Ozma took the card he offered her, scanning it quickly before tucking it into the back of her phone case. “Thanks Harry. I’ll give him a call when I get home and see about setting something up with him.” She’d heard of the photographer’s name a few times, he was small time still but was getting some notice in the modeling industry. If she could get involved with one of his shoots it would be a great little note for her career and even with the contracts she already had under her belt every little bit would help keep her getting booked.
“So now that you’ve managed to wrap this case up - what’s next for today?”
***
“I’m free for the rest of the day. Thought I would take in a movie, and relax some.” he grinned at her. “Saving the day has some benefits.” He chuckled.
“What about you?”
***
“I hadn’t really thought about what I was going to do today.” That was the problem with being relatively new to the area - she didn’t know very many people yet and the ones she did know seemed to work regularly scheduled jobs for the most part. She’d go and bother Ozpin at his cafe sometimes but she tried not to do that very often. Her old professor had to make a living after all and she didn’t really want to get in the way of that. Or be a distraction to his employees on a daily basis.
***
“Wanna have lunch with a crazy private investigator?” He gave her a lopsided smile.”I’m temporarily well off and I want some real food.” He grinned at her., already planning on steak and shrimp.
***
“Only if he promises to tell me some of the interesting stories from his career.” Ozma said, smiling back at him.
