What: Post-hunt discussions
When: June 19th, the full moon
Where: The victim's house
Warnings: Discussions of violence, hard R
Status: In progress, closed

Francis has never felt so alive as he does in this moment. He places the pieces of smashed mirror against the man's eyes and exhales a shaky breath, trembling faintly. Vibrating with energy. He's stripped to the waist and covered in blood and he grins at Riddick, clearly pleased with himself and their victory.

"Thank you. For being my witness."

"Thank you. For inviting me to tag along."

No one had bothered them in their hunt. Riddick had found it exhilarating to follow along with Francis and his dragon. It was easier to see the creature with the man when he was hunting in the darkness. He watched the mirror pieces going into the corpse's eyes with fascination, his own reflecting them back to him again and again.

"The mirrors. Nice touch."

"So they can see who I am, who I truly am. For all eternity."

He can practically feel his wings unfurling from his back, his tail twitching at his leg. He feels so alive.

"We shouldn't linger here too long. We can go back to my home and celebrate a successful night there." They can take their time once they're away from the scene of the crime.

And he'll have his tapes, as well.

Eternity was a concept the Necros talked about often in Riddick's Dreams. He didn't buy into the idea of an afterlife or any kind of forever. There was only the here and now as far as Riddick was concerned. He could respect his friend's beliefs enough to keep his mouth shut on the topic all the same.

That was common fucking courtesy which even Riddick could claim.

Scanning the scene quickly, Riddick's strange eyes picked up blood residue without any sign of fingerprints and neither of them had gotten injured in a way which could leave behind DNA of their own. They'd done good for Francis's dragon. He nodded slowly in agreement, turning his eyes back to Francis.

"Your place it is. This one is done. No evidence to lead back to you or me. Not as if it matters."

He moved to follow Francis back to his home at his heels as if he were a faithful friend to his dragon as much as to him. It was exhilarating being able to almost see the ink come alive. Riddick didn't give a fuck about the dead man on the floor. He was a sack of meat whose only purpose had been to feed a friend in need. The guy should have thanked them really.

Now he wouldn't just fade away forgotten the way most civs did. People would remember him because of them. That was something better than thoughts of eternity since memory? It was real.

It's a thrill, making their way back to Francis's house, his lair, after such a successful night. Knowing the bloodstains against his skin that are hidden under his clothes. The echoes of dying screams in his ears.

Back at his house he carefully unpacks his film and sets it in the box with his home movies.

"I got these from my dreams," he explains, stroking his fingers along the canisters affectionately. "All my witnesses."

Riddick didn't recognize the prizes Francis was unpacking at first. He stared uncomprehendingly at the cases until the idea of them being 'witnesses' sunk in.

"Movies? Sly thing, aren't you? Or is it your Great Dragon who's the clever one?"

He had never been one to watch much film or anything artificially lighted. Riddick hated the way it glared off his own reflective eyes. Pain was something inevitable. Didn't mean he had to go out looking for it all the same. Mostly Riddick wanted to spend some more time around Francis while he was high from his earlier success. There was a particular smell released by the body when victory was achieved. He was fond of it even if he didn't try to put a name to it.

"I think it was His urge to hunt, but my urge to record and remember. It's all in here. Some of their own footage. All the hunting I did of them. The tracking. And the kill, of course."

His tone is soft, almost affectionate in the way he talks about his families. His witnesses.

"I want to try again, next month. A single kill again. While I'm still acclimating myself to it."

"You pick the mark or are we trying for someone with more of a challenge? No prep."

It was easy to take down prey when one had studied its movements. Riddick could hunt in the dark in a way no ordinary hunter ever could. He knew how to track for days without being detected. All the thrill was gone when it was prepared in advance---and there was very little challenge for him to begin with which was why his kill count was low in this life compared to the other.

In the other?

Riddick killed daily to survive. Had since he'd been too small to be considered a threat.

First Mistake: Assuming Richard B Riddick was ever anything other than a threat.

"I enjoy watching them first. Knowing everything I'm going to take away from them, when the time comes. But if you wanted, you could do the initial strike. I won't give you any of the information I've gathered."

It's why he keeps his movies. To watch over and over again. To know they had all this, and he ended it.

Motives aren't something Riddick considers or needs. He doesn't care why Francis needs to kill or wants to kill or simply kills. They're predators. It's in their nature. That's all he needs to know. He smiled at the offer of the first strike. There was always deeply pleasing about getting to prey first.

The first strike satisfied a primal instinct in Riddick. His smile was all teeth.

"I'll take that offer. First strike is mine. Then they're yours."

"Appreciated." There's a smile there as well. More a baring of teeth than anything pleasant.

"In my dreams, I bite them. It's why they called me the Tooth Fairy, but I always hated that name. I don't want to leave evidence behind, though. I'm waiting for my dreams to give me the teeth I used."

"You used another set of teeth? Some kind of Hollywood thing?"

Riddick doesn't mind the idea of biting. He didn't mind the idea of any kind of kill in all honesty. Whatever it took to take down the enemy? That was what it took. He'd used his teeth, nails, fingers and even toes. Riddick was a killer of necessity as much as opportunity. Sometimes? People needed to die and he needed to kill them.

"People need a name for the things they're afraid of because they think if they can give it a name? It lessens its power. They're wrong. We know that. Ignore them."

"Dentures. I'd put them in my mouth and bite them that way." So he could still feel it, but they couldn't use dental records against him.

Francis nods, because Riddick understands. "I'm the Red Dragon. I know that, and you know that. That's all that matters."

They are predators in the night. Smarter than the average beasts, but beasts nonetheless. Riddick liked the idea of watching Francis tear someone up with the teeth of another monster, increasing the fear around him while decreasing his chances of being caught in some hunter's snare since for every predator there was always another wannabe hunting them in return.

"That is all that matters. To the Red Dragon."
