Who: Gabe (Groot) and Nina When: May 21st (Evening) Where: Nina’s Place What: Implied sexy times = sleepy times = forgetting to lock up the werewolf! Rating/Warnings: Medium for swearing, brief mentions of nudity and inferred sexy times. Status: Complete.
Nina and Gabe had gotten so caught up in each other that it had fallen completely out of both their minds that it was a full moon tonight. They had curled up together in a tangle of sweaty limbs and fallen asleep. Nina woke to painful twinges later and made her way to the bathroom where she realised their mistake as the clouds parted and the full moon shone through the window.
Her transformation was painful as it always was but she didn’t cry out anymore as a result she didn’t have a chance to warn Gabe before she changed. In her wolf form she padded into the bedroom and curled up against her mate on the bed.
Gabe had felt the warmth of Nina’s body leave the bed and he’d stirred and mumbled an incoherent protest. He let her go though and had easily drifted back into blissful sleep when he felt her return. Barely awake Gabe rolled over and blindly groped for her smooth skin, only to be met by warm, coarse fur. For a moment he thought he’d placed his hand on her sex, but sleepy as he was he knew that didn't feel right. He drowsily slid his hand along and continued to feel nothing but fur atop lean muscle. Half asleep, Gabe stupidly still had forgotten about the full moon and mumbled, “Babe when did we get a dog?”
When Gabe stroked her coat Nina shifted and whined in her throat to say thank you in her way, though it possibly came out a little more intimidating than it actually was meant. And she let out a little mini howl when he mentioned a dog, the wolf responding to the term.
The howl was what woke him. It was enough of a familiar sound to jar Gabe’s big form to life and he shot straight up in the bed, wide eyed with panic. Immediately laying eyes on what had been - and technically still was - his girlfriend but in wolf form next to him he blurted out a “HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT.” They’d forgotten to lock her up!
Wolf Nina immediately went on the alert, not realising what was wrong and growling she crouched on the bed looking around for anything which could harm them. It wouldn’t be until tomorrow when she was in her human form that she grasped the full extent of what they had done and no doubt blame herself for it. She’d never slipped up before.
This hadn’t been the first time Nina had been out in wolf form. The last time it’d taken Gabe and their friends (and some magic flying chicken bait) to get her back into the house. They’d been lucky, but as Gabe calmed down and watched Nina growling not at him but at a perceived threat thanks to his momentary panic, he realized maybe, just maybe things might be okay. He’d wondered ever since that night if it would be possible to teach the wolf in Nina to ‘stay’ and just chill out at home so she wouldn’t have to be locked up all night. Now was his chance to find out.
“Hey, it’s okay.” he said soothingly. He took in the sight of her form up close and personal: coarse, long animal hair bristling; tense muscles visible beneath thick grey skin, wild animal eyes glaring at the darkness - the personification of ferociousness. It was terrifying and amazing at the same time. He hesitated from touching her since she wasn’t facing him, and he didn’t want to get bit startling her. “Nina, over here. It’s all right, babe.” He extended the back of his hand out for her to sniff. His heart was hammering in his chest despite the abating fear, hoping that this would work for a second time; he remembered from the last time that she recognized him by scent in wolf form, which was probably why she’d been sleeping next to him instead of tearing his throat out.
Turning towards the hand Nina pressed her wet wolf nose into it and then nuzzled affectionately, shifting herself so she could practically curl around him. It was obvious she recognised him as someone to trust and protect, even her tail was wagging more than was usually for a werewolf.
Gabe managed a smile and almost chuckled. Well okay, then. He stroked her head gently and slowly hugged her a little to him, like one would a big dog, just to see if she was okay with that. It was experiment time. He placed a kiss on the top of her furry head. So far, so good.
“You want something to eat?” he said, leaning to look her in the eye. “I think you left a defrosted chicken or three in the fridge.”
Nina wolf didn’t mind the hug at all nuzzling his chest as he did so he knew it was all good.
When he mentioned chicken she whined and licked his cheek before jumping from the bed to make her way into the kitchen.
Gabe sat there stunned for a moment as he watched the large werewolf happily trot out of the bedroom. “I just got kissed by a werewolf.” He said to himself. He shook his head to clear the shock, smiled to himself, threw the sheets aside and got up and started hunting for his underwear, seeing as he had absolutely nothing on. They’d gotten a bit carried away and flung clothes all over the place in the midst of their passion. He stumbled through the dark before giving up, knowing keeping a hungry wolf waiting wasn't a good idea. It was awkward walking through Nina’s place naked and the only human.
“Okay, lets see what we got.” he sighed and swung open the refrigerator door. Inside sat several rather large uncooked whole chickens still in the plastic sitting on two cookie sheets. He pulled it out and tore the wrap off with his bare hands, then twisted around to watch the wolf. Did he just place it on the floor? Should he tell her to “sit” first? This was so weird.
“Um...Nina...sit?” his inflection was uncertain as he had his hands on the meat still on the counter.
In the kitchen Nina stood patiently, tail thumping against the cupboard, while Gabe got out the food. When he told her to sit he got an unimpressed werewolf look along with a grumble and a pawing of the floor. She wasn’t entirely domesticated after all but she still wasn’t attacking him for the food which was a good thing.
“Okay, okay.” Gabe got the message. He placed the chicken on the floor and waited a moment for Nina to dig in. Once she started he quickly washed his hands in the kitchen sink, then headed back to the bedroom and flipped on the light switch.
“Ah.” he spied his discarded boxer briefs in a crumple at the foot of the bed and slipped them on. “Better.” Heading back to the kitchen he checked in on Nina's progress.
It didn’t take long at all, while part of the wolf was Nina most things were instinctual and eating was definitely part of that. She set on the chicken like she hadn’t eaten for weeks, once she’d finished it and Gabe hadn’t returned she searched the kitchen for anything else she could find.
Gabe padded back into the dark kitchen to find the werewolf sniffing around for more. Right, she had a higher metabolism as a werewolf, and the weed probably wasn’t helping. He smirked and swung open the refrigerator door and pulled out two more, unwrapping them and setting one on the floor and keeping the other on the counter. He knew that Nina usually just had them all in a pile in the chamber in the basement, but he didn’t like the idea of her wolfing them down like that (no pun intended). He was afraid she might get a chicken bone stuck in her throat or something, and he didn’t relish the prospect of trying to do the heimlich on a werewolf!
While she chowed down, he snuck out of the room again to head to the basement to get the water dish. He was fairly certain she’d be thirsty with all that chicken she was inhaling. Flipping on the light switch he trotted down the stairs and swung open the door to the chamber, stepping in to get the dish. As he walked around the chamber, taking in the view from the inside looking out, Gabe was now starting to wonder what they were going to do now that he was wide awake and once Nina finished eating. Since he normally slept outside the chamber and she was stuck inside, not much interaction ensued aside from some eye contact and watching one another for a little while before both grew bored. It also occurred to him he should probably get a hold of Merlin; he might need him to cast a spell on the house to keep Nina from accidentally escaping.
When she was back to her human self she’d find it really quite sweet that he had been so worried about her choking. And maybe it was good that her wolf self was being taught patience when it came to food. It was certainly helping to build up respect for Gabe anyway.
It was definitely going to be an experience for both of them. The wolf was always inquisitive about Gabe and part of it wanted him inside the chamber with her. The part that recognised him as her mate most likely. But being free to roam the house while Gabe was awake and watching would be very interesting.
Once she finished the second chicken, she moved to the counter and just as she had jumped up to pull it off Gabe re-entered the kitchen.
Gabe had half expected her to probably jump the counter by the time he’d gotten back upstairs and that’s indeed what he found when he walked back in. “Heyyy,” he said with a gentle warning, which sounded more like a greeting than anything else. No need to aggravate the wolf and create food aggression. He gave her a look though, a sort of stare down, before moving to ruffle her shaggy head as he passed her by to the sink. He’d let her get away with it this time.
Filling the large stainless steel bowl with water, he set it down on the floor by the remnants of bone and bits of chicken, of which there really wasn’t much. He hissed a moment and hopped on one foot as he stepped on a piece of bone, pulling it from the bottom of his foot. It hadn’t broken the skin but it’d been startling. He tossed it into the sink. Then he hopped onto the counter to sit and watch Nina down the other chicken. The darkness suited all of this, as the moonlight streamed in through the window and lit up the room and wolf with a pale, almost bluish hue. “Well, this is certainly a change of environment, huh?” He smiled down at her.
Nina let him ruffle her hair before she finished pulling down the chicken, taking a drink of water before finishing off the chicken. Sitting on her haunches she looked at Gabe once she was done. Moving closer when he sat on the counter she licked his foot before tilting her head at him as though she was listening and understanding. She looked around and whined like in agreement.
Gabe grinned his Groot grin. He was definitely going to have to tell Nina about the foot licking bit, they’d have a good laugh over all of this, he hoped. So far this seemed to be working. Since normally he passed out while she was in the chamber, Gabe wasn’t sure what else they could do. It wasn’t like someone had invented werewolf play toys.
“Hmm, so...what do you want to do now?” He wondered how much of the wolf understood him. He and Nina had conversations about this, but since half the time her memory was hazy on the details, it was difficult to determine. Gabe hopped off of the counter and ran a hand over the head of the werewolf, scratching behind her ear. “Got any ideas, gorgeous?”
It was a strange thing for Nina, as the werewolf she understood a lot more than a normal animal would but yet it wasn’t entirely her and when she woke up she would only have very vague recollections. She would be relieved and then most likely amused at her wolf antics no doubt. She had wondered if altering her dose would allow her to retain more of herself but she didn’t want to risk the pain and loss of control.
At Gabe’s question the wolf gave a yawn, revealing the sharp scary teeth for a moment before it turned and padded back to the bedroom. Apparently eating chicken was a tiring business.
“Hey, that works for me too.” he said, and because yawning is contagious, he let out a big one himself. Stretching his muscular limbs as he walked, he followed Nina back into the bedroom. He shut the light off and slipped back beneath the sheets, waiting to see what she would do.
Nina wolf waited until Gabe was settled before jumping onto the bed and curling up next to him, seemingly perfectly content to sleep like that. It was definitely a testament to how much love and trust Nina held for Gabe that the wolf was so content with him.
Gabe smiled a little as he watched the huge furry form of the werewolf settle down next to him and even give a sigh of an exhale. Stroking the back of her neck a few times he snuggled into the pillow and comforter, telling himself he’d have a helluva story for Nina in the morning before drifting off to sleep.
