To say that this place was odd was a bit of an understatement, but the longer that you lived here, the easier it was to get used to the sort of gauntlets that it decided to run people through. And this situation was definitely one of them. Grant had thought that he was being healthy and proactive when he'd decided that biking to work was a better way to go than driving. Being used to cities that were set up to accommodate bikers, it had been more than bit of an adjustment figuring out how to manage in the OC to begin with. But throwing in the added obstacle of birds swooping at his face, spouting unnerving word that sounded like they were dripping of the tongue of his mother and brothers, it had become even more difficult.
And it looked like the drivers weren't have a much easier time of it with these weird Satan sent mocking birds flocking to crowd their windshields, forcing them to do a number of random maneuvers to clear their vision. Unfortunately, the world decides to send more than one obstacle into the fray at a time and you have to decide what's worth more.
For this driver, the dog that darted out into the road and ended up getting struck in his attempts to shake off the birds was just a necessary causality in his attempt to flee. Lamed at the side of the road but still clearly struggling to move, the dog would have been easy prey for whatever the hell this demonic avians were if Grant hadn't felt compelled to stop. A bike wasn't the best vehicle for transporting an injured animal, but he was going to make the best of it.
With the quickest route to the nearest veterinary hospital mapped out, Grant stumbled into the office, dog slung across his arms, as he walked over to check-in. "Hit by a car," He breathed out, still trying to catch his breath from the ride.
