Who: Lexi Branson and Caroline Forbes What: Lexi watches after NoHumanity!Caroline When: Backdated: Sometime when Caroline's humanity was off Where: Random Club Rating/Warnings: Lowish. Some vampirism. Status: Complete
All Caroline wanted to do was have some fun. Was that really so much to ask? She didn’t get why everyone couldn’t just let her be. She wasn’t hurting anyone yet. Everyone was so fucking paranoid. If she was going to have a babysitter they might as well have a good time. Maybe Lexi would even find herself a guy and Caroline could actually do something without prying eyes watching her every move.
There was a line at the club, but that meant nothing to Caroline. She strutted straight to the front, compelling the bouncer - in the two vampires went. Caroline made a beeline for the bar, grabbing the first guy she saw. “Buy us a round of shots,” she locked eyes with the guy, pupils dilating as she compelled him. There. That was taken care of. He soon returned with the shots, she held one up to Lexi, “to no consequences!” she winked at her friend then downed the shot.
When Lexi realized what was happening with Caroline, her first instinct had been to go into help mode. She'd helped Stefan, twice, in the dreams go from Ripper to Vegan Vampire so she could help Caroline flip her switch back on, right? How hard could it be? She'd decided that instead of going to Stefan route she would play along for a little while.
So when Caroline had suggested they go out, Lexi had gotten dressed up and joined her friend, because if she refused then there would be no way to keep an eye on her. She wasn't the least bit surprised to see Caroline using her compulsion and accepted the shot, smirking at the other blond vampire, "To no consequences."
Caroline was almost surprised that Lexi was actually joining in on the toast. She had always been so hell bent on being a good vampire. From what Caroline knew about her from the dreams she was the goody-two-shoes vampire that brought Stefan back from the dark side, or well ripper side. Whatever. Point was she wasn’t expecting Lexi to actually join in on the fun, but hey the more the merrier. As long as she didn’t try and ruin things for Caroline.
After compelling another round of shots Caroline was ready to hit the dance floor. “You,” she said to the first attractive guy that walked by. “Dance with me,” she didn’t bother with compulsion this time. It was more fun when the guy was actually interested. Thinking he had a chance. Yeah right. If he was lucky Caroline would use him for a snack. “See you out there,” she called to Lexi with a smirk as she led the hottie to the dance floor.
Lexi might have been a goody two shoes in a way, but that didn’t mean that she didn’t know how to have fun. True, her idea of fun and Caroline’s were probably drastically different at the moment, but this way she could have fun and keep an eye on the other blond vampire at the same time. She would play along, but she wasn’t going to let Caroline hurt anyone or do something she’d regret when she finally turned her humanity back on.
She downed her shot then watched as Caroline went off to dance with the random guy. Lexi was curious if she would actually try to bite him with so many other people around, but she wasn’t going to just sit around and wait for it to happen. Spotting a cute guy nearby, she approached him, gave him one of her winning smiles and asked him to dance. When he said yes, she led him out to a spot near Caroline and her dance partner.
Caroline was enjoying herself out on the dance floor, hands flung around the guys necks, hips moving in rhythm with his. She almost forgot Lexi was there with her. That was until her vampire companion decided to dance so close to her. Caroline knew she said she would see Lexi on the dance floor but did she have to hover like that? Caroline was just having a good time. She wasn’t doing anything wrong, or bad even. But if Lexi couldn’t seem to trust her then fine, she might as well give her a reason not to. Caroline looked right at Lexi, vampire features taking over her face, fangs popping out, and then she bit into her dance partner’s neck. Damn, she had forgotten just how good blood tasted from the vein.
Oh great. Part of Lexi had expected this, but she had hoped she’d be wrong. She couldn’t just stand there and let Caroline do this, because at the rate she was going, it was possible that she might kill the guy and she wouldn’t care until she turned her humanity back in. “Sorry, gotta go.” She had barely finished talking to the guy she was dancing with when she was pulling Caroline off her guy. “You fell and cut your neck. Go get patched up.” Once the guy was compelled, she turned to Caroline, grabbing her by the arms and pulled her over to a secluded area at vamp speed, “Whatever is going on, you can’t just snack on people in public.”
The hell? She was going to handle this herself, thank you very much, Lexi. She knew how to compel a guy on her own. Had Lexi missed her her doing that not five minutes ago with the shots? Seriously what the fuck was wrong with everyone? She just wanted to have a little fun. “Calm down,” Caroline replied with an eye roll pushing Lexi off of her. “I wasn’t going to kill the guy. I’m not fucking stupid. I don’t want the damn cops after me.” She knew better than that.
“You don’t think anyone was going to notice you munching on his neck in the middle of the dance floor?” Lexi honestly hated these dreams. She had no idea why Caroline had turned off her humanity and the fact that she was the furthest along in the dreams out of people she’d want to talk to meant that they likely wouldn’t find out unless Caroline told them and she likely wasn’t going to offer up that information in her current state.
“Ugh. No.” Caroline replied with another eye roll. “It probably just looked like I was sucking on his neck. Besides everyone here is wasted anyway. No one is even paying attention to me other than you.” Was she honestly the only logical one around? Seriously all the emotions seemed to be clouding everyone’s judgement. It was possible to feed and not kill or get caught.
If Caroline was being logical, Lexi didn’t want to see what she was like when she wasn’t being logical. “Care, I’m just looking out for you. If we get kicked out then that’ll just put a damper on the night.” She thought perhaps she could appeal to Caroline if she thought that Lexi wasn’t babysitting her persay.
“Lexi we are vampires. We aren’t getting kicked out. It’s called compulsion.” Duh. Seriously why the hell was everyone acting like the world was ending because she was having a little fun and choosing to have a living snack for a change. She wasn’t hurting anyone, well other than the guy she had fed on but he’d already forgotten about it anyway.
“I’m just looking out for us, Care. I’ve already felt what it’s like to be staked and I’d rather not have it happen again.” Ever since Caroline had turned off her humanity, Lexi had wished that compulsion worked between vampires cause then she could just compel the other blond to flip her switch back on, but that wasn’t going to happen.
“I’m not going to get staked,” another eye roll. God Lexi was so paranoid. Caroline wasn’t stupid enough to get caught. Just because she didn’t have much of a conscience at the moment didn’t mean she had lost all common sense. “Fine, let’s just get back to dancing,” however instead of heading back to the floor Caroline took off in a blur. Leaving Lexi alone at the club.
