The club was decked out in silver, blue and white for the Winter Wonderland themed New Year's Eve celebration. The DJ was playing a good selection of music and people were busy getting drunk and having a wonderful time with friends. And that was her intention, to create a fun safe place for people to ring in the New Year.

	The drinks came out remarkably fast, and Kate took hers with eagerness. She lifted it in a silent cheers, then gulped too. It was fine. She could have been drinking nail polish remover for all she cared. "Nope." There was a grin on her face. It didn't bother her at all that she was here alone. "I'm a free agent." Like always. "You?" The stuff burned more than his gin and punch mixture which felt good going down. Peter grabbed a few crackers from the bar and opened them. "I came here alone," he answered, "but I think I'll have someone at midnight." He pointed where Lucy was standing as he popped a cracker into his mouth, feeling it soak up the remaining booze on his tongue.. He wasn't intending to make Kate jealous or anything. Kate was his friend and she was cool and he just felt like he could talk to her.

"Ooh, the ever popular kiss at midngiht, eh?" Kate turned to look over and gave a nod of approval. Kate wasn't jealous at all. She and Peter were friends. She wanted him to have a good night tonight. And she wasn't looking to spend it with him, or anything. She may have been scouting a bit, but she wasn't disappointed. "She's adorable. You know her well, or is this a new development?"

	"We've been hanging out," Peter replied after he swallowed his crackers. He held up another finger and ordered another drink. With it in his hand, he looked at Kate. Pretty Kate. No. Beautiful Kate. He'd gone through that drink pretty fast. Kate decided she could match his speed, and gulped a couple of times from her own glass. "Hanging out hanging out? Or just... hanging out?" She asked, an eyebrow raised playfully at the question. The innuendo. She was genuinely curious, and also wanted to tease him. A little.

"Me? Oh. No." One of her hands lifted absent-mindedly to trail her fingertips along the necklace she was wearing. It was a silver arrow connected at point and feather to a chain around her neck. A birthday gift from Clint that she hadn't taken off since he gave it to her.

"Nothing to write home about."

Peter had to laugh at that. "Just hanging out," he said. Truth be told, he wanted it to be more than just hanging out. He wanted to see where it went, as cliche as it was. He didn't understand just what felt so inherently special about Lucy, but he liked her and spent more time thinking about her than he ever had any other girl.

Noticing the movements of Kate's fingers, Peter nodded to the necklace she wore around her neck. "What's that?" he asked. "And don't be smart and say 'it's a necklace'," he added teasingly.

Kate raised both eyebrows. "Ah, I see." She could tell by the look on his face that he liked the girl. And that was sweet and adorable. She approved. So long as she was a good girl, and wouldn't hurt him. That was all Kate cared about.

She laughed, more than willing to change the subject if he wanted to. "It's an arrow necklace," she said, and her cheeks went slightly pink at the thought. "It was a birthday present. My birthday just passed."
