After his date with Jack, Ianto was feeling pretty good about things. Dinner had gone well, they'd had some great conversation, and there was definitely some chemistry going on. Maybe not fireworks just quite yet, but there was plenty of time for that to develop. He was quite sure there would be a second date. But he'd promised to let Zach know how things went, one way or the other, so here they were.

	Zach had let himself in and had biscuits and tea cooking when Ianto got home. When he heard the key in the lock,he ginned, knowing the smell of cooking things would draw Ianto to the kitchen. (Reply to this) (Thread)

Ianto followed his nose and ears, peering into the kitchen. By the pleasant aroma that filled the house, Zach had been there for a while. If Zach wasn't already engaged to be married, and obviously head over heels for his gorgeous fiancee, Ianto might have wondered if the man were trying to win him away from the dashingly scandalous Mr. Harkness. It was nice of Tessa to share him, though.

	"Not that I noticed," he said, "though Jack ws driving, so..." Ianto hadn't been required to ay much attention to the road, and anyway, the traffic conditions had faded from memory once Jack had pulled up in front of the house and kissed him goodnight. 	He nodded, taking the much, and burying his face in the steam for a moment in a futile attempt to hide the stupid grin on his face. "Yes," he finally admitted, "I did. We went out for Italian. Ianto smiled, chewed his bottom lip, and smiled some more. He had to take a sip of tea, blowing softly across the surface and sipping slowly, before he could find his voice. He felt positively giddy. "I hope it works out," he said, "I really like him. And if it doesn't, I'm glad I took a chance, and I hope we part on mutually good terms. I like working with him, too."

He didn't know why, but had a feeling it could become an amazing partnership, if they took care to nurture it properly. "Is that what it was like for you and Tessa?"
