Who: Magius and Luisa When: During the kryptonite plot Where: Hospital What: Visiting Magius Rating/Warning: Low/None Status: Complete
Magius was glad when he heard that the hospital had managed to get ahold of Luisa. She had been out on errands and doing business when things went bad and he had wanted to get her before she went home to the mess. So he rested, fading in and out on the pain meds, and with an IV in as he waited for her.
He had bandages on his chest and on his head, and on one arm, and was tired and aching, even with the medicine, but he was going to be okay, he knew.
Luisa had just been about to head home when she had received the call, her cellphone having had crappy signal for most of the morning. She had immediately headed to the hospital worried and anxious.
Having stopped to ask where Magius was she walked into the room. Tears immediately sprang into her eyes when she saw him and she hurried to the bed. "Oh my god, what happened?" she asked taking a, hopefully, uninjured hand in hers.
He smiled softly and squeezed her hand, then used it to draw her carefully close so he could kiss her. Carefully. “Hello, love. I’m afraid magicless me ran into some robbers on my unplanned morning off to deal with business.” He rubbed his face, “They disagreed with my dispute of their taking of our things.”
He smiled wryly, “Thankfully, the idea of murder scared them and they ran off, and I was rescued and put back together by Tessa‘s emt team and by doctors here. And I’ll be fine in time. I just have to heal from this.” He smiled softly at her. “I'm glad you could come.” He had told her of his loss of magic after it had happened, and Tessa was one of his patients who he had known from childhood, one of many he knew and talked about proudly, as more than just patients.
She kissed him gently, "Oh Magius" she whispered, sitting carefully on the bed keeping hold of his hand as though scared that he might disappear if she didn't. "I'll have to thank Tessa and the team" she said with a somewhat watery smile, "Silly man, of course I came. Where else would I go? I'm not leaving now until I can take you home" She planned on taking care of him while he recovered and would no doubt fuss over him no end.
Magius smiled softly. “I’ve no objections. I hope you don’t mind but I had a detective bring us some clothing and small items. There’s a room downstairs where docs can shower and wash up, so you don’t have to use the small bathroom here.”
“I don’t mind at all, it’s a good idea” she said with a smile before nodding, “As long as I won’t be getting in the way, the doctors and nurses have enough to do without me being a nuisance” she said, she didn’t mind using the bathroom here if it was less hassle - she never liked being a bother.
“No. There is a spare bed in here and no one else will be brought in. Despite my health, I am older, and in my current condition there is some worry about infection. You, however, being a loved one, are an exception to the rule. You just must wash up a lot.” Then he clasped her hands weakly and smiled a little. “How is handling the book draft going?”
“Of course, whatever I need to do” she told him, she wouldn’t want to be a risk to his health but she was glad she could stay with him. She stroked her thumbs over his hands where they were clasped with hers, “It’s fine. I think I’ll receive the first lot of revisions soon” she told him.
“You are amazing, love.” He pulled her close and kissed her, then, before ducking back down to close his eyes and nod, listening. “Good. Something to keep you busy while I am doped up.” He winked at her.
She kissed him back before smiling as he lay down, “I’ll be plenty busy don’t worry” she told him, stroking his hair gently, “You just focus on getting better”
He rested, one hand capturing one of hers. “Good. I want you to have more than just me in your life. It was part of what drew me to you. You are strong and independent, and that should never change.” He was babbling a little under a timed release of pain medication, but it was all true. “Strong and beautiful woman.”
His eyes almost opened, then closed again as he slid closer to sleep, and smiled in it, dreaming of her.
She smiled as he babbled continuing to stroke his hair, he was so very dear to her and she couldn’t stand to think that she could have lost him. She loved him more than she had thought was possible.
She kissed his hand as he slipped off to sleep, happy and content to sit and watch him for a while. Just to reassure herself he was okay.
