Sure Justin and Billy had seen one another since the night they'd gone to the club, but that had mostly been him helping Billy find an apartment, which they had found. So, Justin was happy when Billy said yes to going out on an actual date. Okay, so Mexican and the club could be considered a date, but Justin didn't want to ask Billy if he'd thought it was one and preferred to just say this new date was indeed a date. Justin had suggested sushi and had picked Billy up at his new apartment that evening then headed over to the restaurant he had decided on. It was one Justin went to often and one that he knew had really good sushi.
"So, how's your job going?" Billy had moved up pretty quickly and Justin was happy for him, knowing how difficult this kind of career could be at times.
Billy had been looking forward to this since Justin had asked him out. They had seen each other but they had been more casual than official dates. This was official and Billy had spent over an hour choosing his outfit, not that he’d admit that more easily.
"Jobs going well. Zelda is a pretty great boss so its nice" he replied, "Not too demanding" he grinned.
"I've never met her in person, but from what I've seen on Valarnet, she seems like a really fun person to work for," The blond actress/socialite seemed like someone that almost anyone could get a long with unless you didn't like cheerful people, "And you're settling into the new apartment well?" Justin wanted to get Billy something for his apartment, but he didn't actually know what the other man needed or wanted. That was the problem when you liked someone, but didn't know them well enough to just know when you saw something that it was for them.
"I can introduce you to her if you like, I'm sure she would love to meet you" he smiled before the smile grew brighter, "Its perfect. Thanks again for helping me" he blushed slightly, "You'll have to come round soon"
Justin nodded, smiling, “I’d love that. I’ve met a lot of famous people while working at various studios, so I won’t get all starstruck,” He teased, tapping the toe of Billy’s shoe with his own under the table, “You’re welcome. It was fun. And any time you want me to come over, just let me know.” He hoped he didn’t sound a little too eager to go back over Billy’s house.
"It's really hard not to just go all fanboy crazy" he grinned in response, tapping Justins foot with his.
"It was fun" he nodded, "You know you're welcome to come over anytime you like" he told him blushing.
“Anytime? So, I can come over at three in the morning?” Justin asked, smirking as their waitress came over with the drinks they had ordered upon arriving then asked if they were ready to order. Justin ordered California Maki and Shrimp Tempura Maki then waited for Billy to place his order.
Billy ordered and waited for the waitress to leave before responding, “Three in the morning is fine as long as you let yourself in because I sleep like the dead” he grinned.
"You'd have to leave a key under the mat then," Justin smirked and took a sip of his drink. All joking aside, Justin wouldn't have minded spending more time at Billy's; especially at night, but he didn't want to reduce Billy to just a hook up or have him think that, that was what he was to Justin.
“I’d let you know where it is” Billy replied, smiling over the rim of his own drink, “A mat is far too obvious, don’t you think?” he laughed before drinking. Billy would love to have Justin over anytime of the day or night.
Still smiling, Justin nodded, “Yeah, I guess it would be.” It was funny, they really hadn’t known each other that long, but Billy had trusted him with helping him find an apartment and now would trust him enough to tell him where he hid an extra key. For all Billy knew, Justin could be slightly unstable or a stalker or any number of things, but he trusted him blindly. “So, what sort of things do you actually do for Zelda?”
In certain senses Billy was slightly naive, he trusted his instincts more than he maybe should but his instinct about Justin told him he was a good man. And someone Billy wanted to get to know a lot better. “Book appointments, attend meetings with her, organize transport, anything she needs really” he replied smiling.
It was a good thing then that Billy had nothing to worry about with Justin. He had no intention of taking advantage of Billy or his trust. “Hopefully she compensates you well.” From what Justin knew about Zelda, which was really only what he’d heard from the tabloids and things, she appeared to be one of the good ones.
“Oh she does” Billy nodded, it was one of the most incredible jobs he’d ever had and not just because of the pay - which had been unbelievable in itself. “And I enjoy it, it’s fun and so far not at all boring” he smiled.
"That's all that matters. So many people hate their jobs, so when you find something you actually enjoy, it's a good thing." Justin enjoyed his job as well and hoped to be able to do more with his art in the future.
“Absolutely” Billy agreed, “How about you? Things still going okay? I think you said you were going to look around a bit see if anything caught your eye”
Justin nodded as he took a sip of his drink, "Everything is going well so far. Black Widow ends this season, so I'm gonna start putting my name out there soon. I'd really love to illustrate a boom or comic or something, but I'm not good with the writing part and I don't actually know anyone who writes. Not personally anyway." Sure there were writers at the studio, but he wasn't really friends with any of them.
“Have you thought about asking on the net?” Billy asked, “Maybe somebody is looking an illustrator. I mean look at me, I got so many people offering to help when I was looking for work. You’re incredibly talented Justin, I’m sure you’ll be snapped up in no time”
A grin spread, easily, across Justin’s lips at the compliment. People told him all the time that he was talented, but somehow, coming from Billy, it felt different. “Thanks. I might do that. I hadn’t actually thought thought about that before.” Just then the waitress brought their food and Justin proceeded to open his chopsticks, “So, have you had any of those dreams that almost everyone seems to be having?” Billy hadn’t mentioned anything yet about dreams and it was entirely possible that if he had, he wanted to keep it private, but Justin had a tendency to get a little nosey at times.
Billy shook his head as he opened his own chopsticks, “Not yet” he replied somewhat ruefully, “I’m getting kind of impatient truthfully. I want to know what kind of dreams I’ll have” It was frustrating to see so many people posting about dreams when he was having none.
“Maybe you’ll be some kind of superhero or supernatural creature.” Justin picked up a piece of sushi with the chopsticks, “I need someone to live vicariously through since mine are so normal.” Honestly, so far the craziest thing that had happened was the fight he’d gotten into at school and then later with his father. Why couldn’t he have crazy superhero dreams like everyone else?
“I hope so. That would be pretty cool” Billy agreed, spearing one of his own sushi pieces, “I’d definitely tell you all about them if I did. In fact I probably wouldn’t shut up about it” he joked before popping the rice into his mouth.
Justin smirked after eating his piece of sushi, “Well, I definitely want to hear about them when you have them. I mean, the only really interesting part about my dreams is all the sex I have.” Yeah, so it might not have been the best idea to mention to the guy he liked how he had a ton of sex with some other guy in his dreams, but Justin didn’t always think before he spoke and sometimes that got him in trouble. “I mean, considering I’m only seventeen and this guy is twenty nine. He keeps trying to push me away too, but it never works.”
“You sure they’re dream Dreams and not just fantasies” Billy teased a little though felt a small blush spread across his cheeks, “Sounds like you’re pretty insistent and with an older guy no less” He wondered briefly if that was the type of guy Justin preferred here, if the guy from his dreams appeared would Justin’s interest in Billy decrease or disappear completely he wondered.
“Haha! Very funny,” Justin was leaving out the part where a few times, usually after dreams where he and Brian had, had sex, he’d woken up with an erection that would have rivaled any morning wood he’d ever had when he was a teenager. “Yeah, I’m really obnoxious in my dreams though. I can understand why Brian wouldn’t want me around.” While Justin did think that Brian was extremely good looking, he didn’t usually go for the asshole types and there was ever possibility that if Brian really did exist somewhere, he’d be completely different than in the dreams and just because he wanted him in the dreams, didn’t mean that’d happen in real life. Besides, Justin wasn’t usually flakey when it came to his feelings, so his interest in Billy would more than likely stay the same.
“I can’t imagine you as really obnoxious” Billy said tilting his head as he considered Justin, “And I definitely can’t imagine not wanting you around” he added blushing once more but smiling at him nonetheless. He truly liked Justin and really wanted to not screw this all up, he’d never had a proper relationship before and wasn’t sure if things were moving at a rate they should do.
“You didn’t know me when I was seventeen,” Justin smirked. He hadn’t been as bad as his dream self, but he knew that he could get a little obnoxious at times when he was younger. His smirk widened as Billy blushed, finding it rather adorable, “I’m glad you like being around me cause I like being around you too.” Yes, it was cheesy, but he didn’t care.
Billy laughed, “I’m sure you weren’t that bad” he said smiling. Happy to see a positive response from Justin, “Good job we do otherwise this would be a pretty disastrous date”
“Right? That’d be the worst date in the history of dates.” Justin honestly couldn’t stop smiling. He smiled a lot to begin with, but when he was with Billy he found himself smiling not stop. There was just something about Billy that made him happy and he wanted to show it, “So, it’s good that we like each other.”
“It really would” Billy agreed, he smiled a lot too but he also found that being around Justin also had the side effect of making him blush. He knew it probably made him look ridiculous but there wasn’t really much he could do about it. “Very good I think” he nodded.
On the contrary, Justin thought Billy looked extremely adorable when he blushed and wouldn’t mind seeing it happen more, “You know what this means, right? It means we’re gonna have to go on another date. I mean, if this one doesn’t take a complete 180 and become the date from hell before the night is over.” He was teasing of course. Justin couldn’t think of anything that could happen to make this a bad date.
“I think we’re safe to arrange another one” Billy told him amusement lacing his voice, “Maybe you could show me some surfing tricks?” he suggested.
“I think that can be arranged.” Justin grinned. He hadn’t been surfing in a few weeks and it’d be an excuse to both hang out with Billy and get to surf a little, “Just don’t expect any crazy tricks. It’s unlikely that there will be any huge ass waves.”
“To be honest I’m going to think it’s an impressive trick if you can stand up” Billy told him with a grin, “I can’t imagine ever being able to do that”
Justin laughed and took a sip of his drink, “Then you’re going to be astonished.” They were only halfway through dinner and already Justin was looking forward to their next date.
