Obi-Wan is aging surprisingly well (obi1) wrote in valarlogs,
Surprisingly enough, Obi-Wan wouldn't have minded it if Loras had taken his hand at that moment. He wasn't certainly wasn't hoping for it, but real human contact came so seldom that sometimes even the more awkward moments would do. By necessity, or so be believed, he had become detached over the years. Aloof might have been the best word for it. Even at the news of Emily's death, the initial breakdown had faded much more quickly than he liked to admit, and soon he was back to throwing himself into any distraction that came along. Lately, it was the dreams.
Obi-Wan sipped the coffee, which was growing thin at the bottom of his mug. Somehow, Loras had given the perfect reply. Because, really, what could you say? "It was a TV show from before your time. A man's in a horrific accent and they rebuild him. 'Better, stronger, faster.'" He mimicked the narrator from the opening credits sequence. Then he shrugged, his eyes flickered. "Or maybe it was the Six Million Dollar Man. I don't know. I was more of a fan of The Bionic Woman."
He shook his head and smiled into his coffee mug. "Lindsay Wagner. Hoo."
Obi-Wan finished off the coffee. He leaned back into his chair and lifted an eyebrow, as he took in the person before him that was Loras Tyrell. Dare he say it? "But maybe she's not your cup of tea."
