Nate was a little more rested, and feeling better, but still ordered to stay until late afternoon at least. He was hoping he could go home then and just be miserable there. He didn’t have a cast, but he had a brace around his leg to keep him from straining where they had to dig out the bullet. It was not fun. If he hadn’t already decided to not try to have sex again, this would have decided it. Any jarring of the area would be bad.
So he was settled, using his telepathy to read a book that someone else was reading in the city, and just vegging out.
Motoko felt really bad. She didn't know if it was her luck, or his, but she wanted to visit him. Bring him flowers, and as a joke, an I.O.U get well card. She stepped into the room, dressed casual in jeans and a blouse. "You look miserable, Nathan."
Nate smiled when he saw her. “Well, I am a little bit. They have to wean me off the pain meds so, fun times loom. How are you? I wasn’t in a mind to ask last night. Are you okay?” He smiled at the flowers and at the card.
“Oh I’m fine,” Motoko replied, giving him a genuine smile. She took a seat and set the flowers and card down on the table next to the bed. “I’m used to being shot at.”
“Good.” He chuckled. “Thanks for those.” He rested, then smiled. “I hope you didn’t get too many questions about the whole mess.” He carefully, slowly, moved, wincing, so he could see her better.
"Nothing I couldn't answer. They didn't seem to be anyone special, just a group that has been running around robbing places on a regular basis lately. So you've managed to stop a string of robberies." She flashed him a grin.
Nate chuckled. “Great. My legend will grow.” He shook his head. “Barely legal genius goes to college and also stops bad guys.” he said it like a reporter, then chuckled again.
“You’d make an excellent cop,” she pointed out. “Your heart is in the right place, too. Not enough like that, it seems like, or my sample size is mostly corrupt.” She rested a hand on his arm and rubbed it.
He smiled. "More of a soldier in my head." He blushed at the rubbing. "My luck, if you keep that up, we'll get attacked by space nurses, or something.” Even if her hand on him was making his sheet tent a little.
She noticed, and grinned at him. “I might like tempting fate. I just wish I had some of what I had in my dreams already.”
Nate stuck out his tongue at her and blushed, but grinned anyway. “LIke what?” He was curious about that statement now.
“I dream I’m still a cop, but I work harder cases. A lot of cybercrime, and terrorism. My body was replaced by an inorganic shell, and even my brain is cybernetic. I’m still human, I still have a soul. I’m just...enhanced.” She looked down at her chest and smirked. “In several ways. The best sex is linking into another female cyborg. You basically share everything like that, and it’s intense. Doesn’t work with opposite sex, though, because all the receptors are different.”
Nate gaped, then grinned. “Huhn. Sounds like telepathic sex. Utter sharing of emotions, or just physical senses, depending on the preference. Can be done by one telepath and one not, but it’s only fully groovy with two.” He nodded.
“Makes sense.” She nodded her head. “Communication is a lot like telepathy. Just think in the right direction. It’s more complex, and there’s a lot of security protocols.” Her hand rubbed up to his shoulder, then to his chest.
“Very true. I...” He swallowed and shivered under her hand. Then he chuckled. “Can I do something for you?” His voice was a little huskier under her touch, and he was blushing a little. Her attention was flattering.
“What would you like to do for me, Nathan?” She tilted her head, smiling at him, and a little curious what he had in mind. There wasn’t much they could do sexually, and she was getting the impression he was having second thoughts. She didn’t take it personally, mostly.
“It was sort of an expression, a joke... since your hand is wandering...” He blushed and grinned a little. “Something I don’t mind at all.” He smiled softly. “I thought you might want to talk about the crazy that is the life I lead, but, ah, I am not in a hurry.” He licked his lips.
She was close and female and hot as heck and it was hard to think.
“Your life is crazy enough, maybe you need a little normalcy in it.” Motoko grinned at him as her hand closed around the tent in the sheet.
Nate shuddered, and his eyes went wide. He whimpered slightly. “feels like, nnn, you have a good grasp on the situation...”
Oh wow...
She toyed with the tip using her thumb, and leaned over to kiss him lightly on the lips. Hers moved against his as she said. "If I was certain we wouldn't be interrupted, I'd thank you for your actions last night, with a proper scolding." She flicked her tongue at the tip of his nose.
“Probably best not... not to.” He whimpered. “You, ah... my life is crazy and you would... I don’t want you to get hurt.” He blushed, and laid back.
With a long breath of hair. “As tempting, and oh god, that is tempting, “ His cock twitched under her hand to tell her how much, “I think maybe definitely not.” He managed to get it all out. “I’m sorry.”
“Nathan, I’m a cop who hunts down Yakuza, my life is dangerous. I’d be more worried about you.” She squeezed him again, then pulled her hand away. Damn damn damn, she ached just looking at the size of that tent.
“I’m sorry. but Yakuza have nothing on what I have to fight. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll gladly fight at your side, but I think I should wait, anyway. Maybe My third devirginization should be more.”
She raised an eyebrow at him. “We can play the ‘my dreams are dangerous’ game, you know. Not much scares me.”
“I know. And in the end... maybe it’s just me.” He sighed. “I’m sorry. I feel like an ass. But I don’t think I’m ready anymore.”
“It’s okay. I’m not going to take it personally. Much.” She gave him a tight smile, and she was taking it a lot more personally than she let it on
Nate sighed. And felt lower than dirt. “I’m sorry.” He blew out a long breath and nodded.
Sometimes you fucked up and there was no way to fix it.
She gave him a kiss, then straightened. “I’ll let you rest. But the IOU still stands.” She winked and dropped the card on his lap.
He blushed and grinned at her. “If nothing else, I owe you a definite dinner.” He smiled. “Be good to yourself.”
“Thanks.” She walked out the door, smiling at a cute nurse. “Nathan's a little smelly, I think he needs a bath. You won’t be disappointed.”
FIN.
