[Mod Post] Anti-Troll Policy
Hey, guys. Just a quick note about a policy change.
This was brought on by the troll incident we had a few weeks ago. I don't anticipate having a repeat incident and I certainly don't think any of you would flip out in such a ridiculously immature manner. This is not a lecture, we just wanted to let you guys know about the change in the rules and why we're doing it.
Next time there's an inflammatory post or flamewar in the OOC, Jewels and I are going to take steps to control it. That may include deleting posts or disabling comments. We're going to try to do this as soon as it's obvious that the situation is out of hand.
We don't like the idea of censorship any more than you do. That's why it took us so long last time to respond, because we honestly weren't sure what was the best course of action to take. We discussed this at length, and decided that nipping trolls in the bud is the best way to go.
Our justification is this: We try to always encourage adult communication between players. From Day 1 we have tried to keep this game free of OOC-drama. We realize that's not possible in the world of RP, but we do our best. We do not tolerate OOC-bullying between players, and we won't tolerate it from anyone leaving the game either. Yes, this includes passive-aggressive posts, too. We expect you to be mature. If someone has a problem, the first line of defense should always be addressing it privately with that person. If that isn't possible or the problem persists, email the mods. No one should ever badmouth another player in the OOC or chat.
Like I said, I don't think that'll be a problem with any of you guys. We just try to keep you guys informed of rule changes. Have a great day!
