Who: Anders, Gaius, Merlin, Nimue, Melora, Hawke, Merill, Jaina, Arthus, Justice...I think that's it.

What: Exorcism of Justice

Gaius had been working out ever last detail. There was no room for error; too many spells that had to go exactly right. He wanted to do all of it on his own, but he knew he had to rely on others for some of this. His parents were going to bring Justice to them, then they would begin.

Justice had taken control. It had actually been for a few days now. He was traveling in Africa, keeping Anders as far away from friends and family as he could. He wouldn't give Anders up again.

Merlin had his directions and was waiting with Nimue for the right time. Bethany had been right and they had easily found Justice. He didn't exactly leave a small trail to follow, destruction following Justice across the land.

Merlin and Nimue made an effective pair. Merlin had more raw power, but Nimue's confidence was like a focusing lens. Everyone was standing by. This was about as well-lined up as things were going to be.

Nimue nodded to Merlin and began casting her half of the spell to paralyze Justice.

Merlin started the spell at the same time as Nimue, prepared in case Justice noticed them. The spell went off smoothly and Justice was frozen in mid-step. Merlin held Nimue's hand as he walked up to Justice. He took the amulet out from under his shirt. Everyone in his family had one just like it and at any time of distress he could teleport to any of them.

He held onto Justice with one hand and Nimue with the other before he concentrated on Gaius and teleporting there.

In a flash of light, Merlin, Nimue and Justice appeared in front of Gaius an the rest of the mages accompanying him. Nimue took a step back once they arrived, letting her son take the lead. She was proud of her boy for organizing all of this, and was at the ready to provide any additional power needed. She wasn't sure how all of these magicks would mix, but she was prepared to help.

It was probably a mistake for Merrill to have come along. Her reaction upon seeing Anders--Justice--was strong. Of course she had seen Justice's glow in more than one fight. The spirit wasn't unfamiliar to her, but now it seemed to have taken a much stronger hold on Anders. His features were twisted and Merrill felt a little sick. Her grip tightened on Hawke's arm.

What use could she be when she was like this?

Melora's reaction was similar, but she had never seen Justice before. She was torn between running for the door and screaming at the spirit to let her father go. She was rooted to the spot, though, just hoping Gaius wouldn't turn to look at her. She needed to pretend to have it together.

Hawke hadn't been looking forward to this in the slightest. Dealing with Justice in Kirkwall had been one thing, but here... here, he'd had enough time to become even more vengeful, if that was even possible.

She gently squeezed Merrill's hand, trying to calm her a little. This wouldn't work if they were panicked by Justice's mere presence... true, the wouldn't be doing the magic themselves, but there was no telling whether their powers would be needed. Especially if...

Especially if it didn't work. Much as Hawke hated to even consider such a thing.

Gaius was completely focused. He didn't even let himself really see what was going on. He couldn't afford to get distracted by fear or anything else. He saw Anders glowing and terrifying in front of him, but didn't let himself register it.

"Arthus, are you ready?" As soon as Arthus cast his spell Gaius could call Justice into the host he had ready.

Jaina knew her own magical skills wouldn't help in removing this spirit from Anders, but she had her own worries about what might happen in the process. Demons and netherbeasts tended to gain form once they were removed from their host.

That was why she had a cantrip ready. If the spirit was hostile, she was more than willing to send it back to the Nether or wherever the hell it came from.

Arthas honestly didn't have that much faith in his abilities. After being trapped as the Lich King for what'd felt like aeons, he could barely remember what it took to be a Paladin. It was only Jaina's faith in him that'd brought him this far.

"As ready as I'm ever going to be." Justice wasn't like anything he'd exorcised before, but he was fairly sure the procedure was the same. "Jaina, be ready. We don't know how he'll react to being torn from his host."

Hawke didn't want Melora or Stefan watching this, just in case. Their son actually seemed to have avoided the proceedings altogether, and she could hardly blame him for that. "Melora. You... might want to leave the room, just in case."

Normally Melora would've argued. She'd refused to listen when her father told her not to look for him. She was incredibly stubborn--possibly moreso than her parents combined. But she didn't even speak, she just went to the door, exiting as calmly as she could manage before running back to where Thomas was waiting.

Gaius watched as Melora left, wanting for a moment to follow her. But he had a lot to do here. "Let's start. We won't be able to keep him still for long."

Gaius was prepared. He had been overly prepared, and it was probably a good thing that Melora was gone. He had some spells ready that she probably wouldn't be happy he was using.

He looked up at the other mages in the room, making sure they were all ready.

Jaina just nodded, her hands tightened into fists at her side.

"The sooner the fiend is out of him, the sooner we can relax." Whatever this 'Justice' creature was, it clearly wasn't benevolent in any way. Arthas could reason that it might have been, once upon a time, but now...

Now wasn't the time to think on it. The creature could be questioned, if need be, once he wasn't possessing the poor man any longer. Doing this without his usual weapon was strange, but... he'd worked out a way to compensate. He closed his eyes and focused, praying to... whatever there was in this world that this would work.

The man had a family. He had children. He didn't deserve to face the same fate the Lich King's possession had forced on Arthas.

The moment he saw Arthas start to concentrate Gaius started the first spell. His eyes glowed gold, much like his father's did when he did magic. This was a spell that would help him see the truth. He saw a shadow over Anders, a tall man in a suite of armor, but somehow twisted.

Gaius watched as Justice started to be pulled away from Anders. He started chanting, pulling Justice towards the host. He picked up a dagger that he had prepared for this. It wasn't blood magic, not in the sense of what the magic that came from Anders' world, it was just a spell that required blood. He didn't stop his chanting as he cut across his palm and used the blood to draw a seal onto the host. It should both draw Justice in and lock him inside.
