After this last little world invasion, Pepper had been more tired than usual. Aliens dressed up as other people. Now she'd seen everything. Still, she realized how tired Tony must be all the time, wearing the suit. Her job had mostly been just to rescue people. That's what her suit was built for, and she loved it. But she was bruised and just tired.

That meant that when she was sure that Tony had been tinkering for way too long, she went down to find him. Punching in the code, she opened the door and went to look for him. "Tony?" she asked. "You've been down here a while."

	Tony pulled back, looking at her for a long second. "I know. You always have." It was hard to tell what went on in Tony's mind sometimes. But there was no mistaking that expression. It was love; not lust or another second cousin. And only Pepper had ever seen it. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Tony gave her a grin, wiggling his eyebrows. "We will be fine. We're the heroes, remember?" His fingers gave her waist the faintest of tickles, but for all the teasing he really just wanted to haul her upstairs for a little non-suit time. Non-any-suit time.
