Mordred had realized this was the craziest week or two in his life. Forget the adventures back in his own time, everything here so far dwarfed it by comparison. First it had been the water balloons that always seemed to fall on or fly at him in the most inconvenient of circumstances. And it was always without warning. Even when he once used magic to block one, another had hit him from behind. Not to mention when he used magic to dry off, he'd later just get wet all over again. Very annoying. He also found out, much to his surprise, he had an odd talent of being able to teleport to any place he wanted. Just by thinking it! If he wanted to go to Disneyland, poof! He could appear there at will. But he didn't go there. The giant mouse kinda made him paranoid even seeing it on TV. But he had been doing lots of research before.. after that damn portkey in Hawaii had sent to Colorado of all places. He was almost sure that was an error on the object's part.
So he had gotten an atlas of the United States, spending time in the library reading up on various spots. And then used his new talent to go there. Houston. Los Angeles. Seattle. Washington, DC. New York City. Cincinnati. Miami. Vegas. Pretty much anywhere he wanted to see. But then.. there was a problem not long ago. Aliens. From what everyone else kept saying on the boards, anyway. They were so different than anything he saw before. And he was attacked several times, ending up with a few bruisers on his upper arm and shoulder because of it. Didn't take him long to react in kind.. or more, really. He had a bit of a short fuse about being messed with anyway, only now more so. This time the magic wasn't by accident. Flames, ice, sonic screams blowing them away, or telekinesis to knock them hard into things. It wasn't a mere outburst. No, he really did use it this time around with the purpose of wrath. Though given he didn't have too much practice, it wasn't as controlled until doing it for a while. Either burning them or cold blasts of air forming ice around them. Or knocking them into something sharp.
It wasn't long before he was tired of the attacks and of seeing them in places. So he just used his new talent to teleport. Pretty much to places he had been and to a few that he hadn't. But no matter where he went to, it wasn't long before he saw those things. Not just going after him, but also at others. He briefly thought of playing hero. Though in his young mind that meant burning or freezing them alive, but then this was Mordred. He was both surprised and perturbed that the innocent civilians seemed to be scared of him as much as the aliens. He just kept appearing elsewhere and using his abilities to take care of more of the invaders. But now, about a day or so ago.. it wasn't too much longer that he didn't see any more around. Oh, he remembered some dead ones. But now? Nothing. No more coming out. No more attacks. No threats to his life at current.
"Finally," he sighed, breathing with relief as he rubbed his sore shoulder and pulled his green cloak tighter around himself. He wasn't used to that feeling. But at least it was over at present. He glanced around and saw that he was near a.. high school, he heard it was called. Everyone seemed to be inside. Which was good for him, he preferred to not be around anyone for the moment. He leaned against the wall of the building. Letting himself relax for a bit, just until he moved on. Maybe back to London. Or he could try another American city, that was an option too. He just hoped no one else really payed much attention to how he had dealt with all this. But on the bright side, even though he was hurt, at least he was alive. So that much was a bonus in his mind. Hopefully it would stay that way.
