"Mary's a pretty common name, my mom's name was Mary," he pointed out, but that was a pretty damn big proverbial neon sign for her to throw up. "You're the clone of the virgin mother? That explains why you're so good with kids. And you're unusually calming. I wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth with the latter one though. I was just hoping it wasn't supernatural." He shook his head with a huff of a chuckle. "Like I said, it's not any weirder than me. I'm one of a group of kids that were born in 1983 with powers that only cropped up a couple years back. Apparently, the bunch of us were 'chosen' by a demon to be potential leaders of an army of demons. Needless to say? I didn't really take the job offer. Especially since the demon was the reason my mom died, and the girl I was going to propose to." He shook his head.
"He's gone now. Dead. Same with my powers, but well. That's my story." Only the tip of the iceberg, but it was the meat of what made him him.
