It wasn't often that Mac would send messages to her whilst he was out working. Usually, Miranda just knew where he was, how long he'd probably be, and to drag him back if he was out for too long. This was clearly something different, especially since it seemed to imply he'd be back earlier than expected.

He'd said fancy, so that was what she'd gone for, a fairly low-cut number in red, just because he'd said she looked good in it once or twice previously. It was probably a good thing that she wasn't showing all that much just yet - an unexpected quirk of her genetics, she assumed.

Maybe they weren't all bad. Once she was ready, all that was left was just to wait for him... and she was fairly sure he wouldn't be long.
