Rose Tyler is all pink and yellow ([info]withyouforever) wrote in [info]utr_logs,

Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:eleventh doctor, jack harkness, jenny, ninth doctor, rose tyler (s2)

Who: Rose Tyler #2, Jenny, Ninth Doctor, probably the Eleventh Doctor, also open to Jack Harkness, Donna Noble and other Who-crew that want to help. And apparently Lilo.
What: Rescuing a very stoned Doctor
Warnings: Adult themes of drug use (*snicker*)

Rose was more than happy to let Jenny take charge of the rescue plan, leaving Jenny to instruct everyone on what to do. They had found a portkey that led back--they assumed--to the kidnapper's hideout. When Rose had been there last, it had been pitch black and Jenny decided that they couldn't complete a rescue mission while blind. Rose was an emotional wreck, and she'd fought back against Jenny initially, but she could see now that the girl was right. They needed a plan.

Jenny was taken aback by all of the volunteers. She had been procuring night vision goggles while Rose called for backup, and she didn't have anywhere near enough for everyone. Did the Doctor really have this many friends? Why did he always act so lonely?

Jenny distributed the night vision goggles to the first team. She wasn't entirely sure what the second team would be doing, but it was always good to have back up in uncertain circumstances like this. Fully equipped now, the first team followed the girls through the portkey.

At first, it didn't seem like there was much. A dark room--maybe a garage of some sort. With the goggles, they could make out vehicles. Jenny didn't see any people yet, but... Was that movement up ahead?

Eleven had insisted he be allowed on the first team, just by virtue of the kidnappee being his past incarnation. He'd been able to sense his other self's distress, but now... just vague murmurs, sometimes vaguely resembling Yellow Submarine, just enough to pinpoint his location.

He'd even made his own night-vision goggles, and was quite proud of himself for doing so, but seeing movement made him doubt he'd made them quite as well as he'd first thought. "...I'm not just seeing things, am I?"

If he was, it was back to the drawing board. Less cool, more functional, maybe...

Jenny turned to Eleven and gave him an annoyed "Shh." He thought he saw an enemy and he started talking? Did he not realize they were supposed to be sneaking in? Honestly. Next Rose would start wailing again and it would be like putting up a giant 'WE'RE BREAKING INTO YOUR HIDEOUT!' sign.

Being here again, Rose couldn't help remembering the Doctor's hand being ripped out of hers. She took a deep breath, trying to push down that panic. For just a moment, a small part of her wondered if she shouldn't have come. But that was ridiculous, of course. She needed to be here. The Doctor needed her to be here.

Without really realizing what she was doing, Rose reached out and took the Other Doctor's hand.

It wasn't like he'd been being loud or anything. He wasn't that idiotic, no matter how often he seemed it. He might've almost been pouting.

That all faded away when he felt Rose take his hand, some old instinct in him making him lightly squeeze her hand, making sure that he didn't let go for a moment. No sense pouting and messing around, they had to find his other self. Hopefully without any violence occurring.

It was times like these Jack missed having all the Torchwood equipment. These night-vision-goggles were nothing compared to some of the toys he had back home. Times like these also made him miss his team.

He looked over at Donna. This new team was pretty awesome, though.

Jenny motioned for the rest of the team to stay put while she snuck ahead, hoping to determine the source of the movement. Rose hoped they could trust Jenny not to shoot anyone, especially since that tended to be loud... But she wouldn't be surprised if the Doctor ignored the girl's orders and followed along behind her.

Rounding the corner to enter the darkened room was a man carrying a small bag. Luckily, he was alone, and wasn't expecting anything. Jenny took him down with little struggle, her elbow slamming into his chest and knocking him to the floor.

She pulled the man forcefully up into a sitting position, standing over him threateningly. "We're looking for the Doctor," she told him through clenched teeth. "Skinny guy, short hair, big ears.. Seen him?"

Ah. Well, there was that violence he'd been hoping to avoid. He'd never been able to understand why Jenny hadn't somehow inherited his overriding pacifism about things... then again, if she'd gotten it, she wouldn't have been able to run this rescue mission.

Why did his logic always have such gaping holes in? Something to remedy later, clearly, when his sort-of daughter wasn't about to break someone's face off if they didn't talk.

"I ain't telling you nothing," the man said in a thick New York accent, scowling at the tiny blonde and trying to look tough.

Jenny set her jaw, pulling him up and placing the barrel of her gun against the side of his face. "See this angle? Won't kill you. Bullet'll shatter your jaw and then lodge deep in your shoulder. Painful, crippling, and disfiguring." Hat-trick.

"Is he okay?" Rose interrupted, concern on her face as she stepped forward. "Are they feeding him?"

Jenny gave Rose an exasperated glance. "Trying to work here."

The man was trying not to look frightened. He seemed to get a bit more courage when Rose stepped forward. He looked up at Jenny, rebellious. "You wouldn't pull the trigger," he said smugly.

"That man you have is my father," Jenny said, her voice ice cold. "Do you really want to make that bet?"

Jack strolled up, grinning. "Oh, Jenny, it won't kill him, but he won't be able to talk. You want to start with the kneecaps. Move on to the hands, then work to the jaw."

Eleven could barely contain a very Time Lord-y sigh of frustration. Why did his violent companions have to come along? It wasn't the answer! ...Well, unless the question was of the specific variety, like 'name all the words that rhyme with silence', but it wasn't here. At all.

"If you kill anyone, you're grounded," perhaps it wasn't the best deterrent, but it was the main thing coming to mind. "We're here to save other me. That's all."

Jenny threw her hands up in frustration. "You all make it really hard to intimidate someone." She wasn't going to kill him! She wasn't really even going to shoot his jaw. But the key to interrogating someone was them thinking she was going to shoot them, and every one of them had blown that fear out of the water in their own, special way.

She shoved her rifle into Jack's arms--the only other person here she trusted with a firearm--and stepped back to the Doctor, her arms crossed over her chest and glowering at him in a way only a teenage daughter could.

Rose spotted something on the ground and picked it up. It was the bag the man had been carrying.. He must have dropped it when Jenny knocked him down. Rose reached inside and pulled out a bottle of some sort of medicine. "What is this?"

Never a mature man at the best of times, Eleven just stuck his tongue out at Jenny's fit of teenage... teenageness. At Rose's question, he snapped back to alertness and heroic Time Lordy-ness.

Casting a glance back to Jack to ensure he hadn't done anything too terrible, he moved over to Rose, examining the bottle. "Some form of sedative? They've kidnapped powerful people, can't be stupid enough to leave them wandering around full-strength."

He pulled another bottle out of the bag to get a closer look. No sonic, he'd left it in the TARDIS, but he could at least still read (and spout impressive sounding words whilst at it). "Chlorpromazine. Thorazine, Largactil, whatever you want to call it. Decent enough choice," a pause. "Well, it does funny things to Time Lords. Explains the Beatles songs."

"Beatles songs?" Rose asked. "You think they're using this on the Doctor?" Which sounded terribly weird to say to another Doctor. She really wasn't used to this, yet. But she couldn't call him a Doctor, no matter how many of him there were. "What does it do?"

She was asking too many questions, she realized, without giving him a chance to answer. She was just driving herself mad with worry.

Jack took the gun from Jenny and smiled at the henchman. The man looked much more frightened with Jack standing over him with the gun, which Jack thought was silly. He lowered the gun to his knees. "You drugged him and you really think that will keep him? You think some of these people are dangerous, they have nothing on the Doctor. He will rip this place apart, and you don't want to get caught in the cross fire. Why don't you let me know where he is and I won't take out your knee cap so you can run as far away as you'd like." His grin got more and more 'friendly' as he spoke.

"It makes us go a little... loopy. Not in a harmful way, just in a way that we don't realise what we're saying," a long time ago, at the Academy, one of his classmates had done an entire thesis on the effects of it on Time Lords.

Why yes, he'd been a semi-unwilling participant. The things he'd said were things he'd never share, even on pain of death, if only because Ushas would laugh at him all the more for it. "I can sense him. He's fine, he's just thinking mostly in Beatles songs. It happens."

He's fine. Relief flooded through Rose when she heard those words. She hadn't known they could sense each other like that, but it explained why the other Doctor hadn't seemed that worried. At least, she hoped that was what explained it, and not just that he was sort of... Well, mad.

There were layers and layers of confusion on the topic, but Rose was too worked up to care. She turned and hugged the other Doctor tightly, so glad that her Doctor was okay. Now they just had to find him. Well, enough goofing around. Rose was going to take this into her own hands.

She gave the Doctor a wink so he'd know she hadn't completely lost her mind. Then she walked up to Jack and grabbed the gun out of his arms. "Now look," she told the captive man. "I have been waiting years for the Doctor to tell me how he feels, and he just finally told me that he loves me before you people dragged him off. He's my everything. We said 'forever', and that actually means something for a Time Lord, so you have to tell me where he is." She gestured over her shoulder at Jack and Jenny. "He was going for your knees, and she wanted to go for your jaw, but see, I'm a terrible shot. This close, I'm pretty sure I'll hit you. It's just a question of where. It could be anywhere! Knees, shoulder, left ear.. It's like Russian Roulette, but with a gun."

Jenny, who was watching all this, spoke up. "Actually, Russian Rou--" A glance from Rose shut her up. Scary Rose was scary.

Eleven knew, deep down, that he shouldn't laugh... and yet, he couldn't help it. Oh, this was why he loved humans, deep down. Silly old apes, but so lovable.

"A* for effort, Rose," he grinned like the madman he truly was, unable to stop himself. "Let's go save other me before he gets onto the really obscure songs."

Rose's cheeks went a bit pink. She should have been paying more attention, apparently. She handed the gun off to Jenny, happy to be rid of the thing. She swatted at the Doctor's arm for laughing, but truthfully she didn't mind. They were navigating in strange waters, and she hoped they could come out of this slightly less awkward, as some sort of friends.

Jenny nodded. "Let's go." She led the way into the hallway. There was light ahead, so she stripped off her goggles as she started to run.

Eleven mock-winced and then promptly stuck his tongue out at Rose. Thousands of years of time and space didn't translate into maturity, and he was fairly sure Rose wouldn't want the other him any other way... and who knew, maybe this'd strip the weirdness out of their relationship. That'd be nice.

He had enough weirdness when it came to River, to be honest.

The light at the end of the corridor was enough to make him rip his goggles off (and almost twang himself in the eye) and start running. His other self was getting louder in his mind, albeit still incoherent. They were close.

Jack followed taking off the goggles. He pulled out his gun to cover Jenny as she opened the door. Luckily it wasn't necessary, the Doctor was inside by himself.

The Doctor was happily on a Jefferson Airplane through strawberry fields forever. He was sure Rose was halfway through building him a stairway to heaven, which was impressive since she as a might short for such things. Where was his Rose? He loved Rose.

He liked her. She smelled so nice.

Vaguely aware that something wasn't right, the Doctor raised his head at the opening door. Was it more people insisting he go on a magical mystery tour?

Oh no. He knew them. His face burst into a grin, slightly less manic and slightly more distubing.

"Koo Koo cachoo!"

Jenny stared at him blankly, her head tilting to the side. She was glad he was okay, but what was wrong with him? "I think he's broken."

Rose pushed past Jack and Jenny to rush into her Doctor's arms. She didn't care if he was tripping balls. "Hey," she said, her eyes bright as she ran her hands over the side of her face. "You're okay? You're okay."

He was okay.

Somewhere, the Rani was probably laughing at how ridiculous this entire thing was. Damned mental links amongst Time Lords, always causing problems and embarrassing situations.

"He's not broken, he just thinks he's the Walrus," perfectly normal in Eleven's eyes, all things considered. "He'll be fine once it all wears off."

The Doctor smiled at the Eleventh version of himself summing the beautiful colors up so nicely, but his face brightened something fierce when he saw Rose.

"Oh Rose, let me see you smile?" He was really likely in quite a state, but he just couldn't quite seem to mind. "Did you know that you are beautiful and your bum is just fantastic?"

Should be a national treasure, really.
