Melora slid off the table onto the floor next to Thomas, hugging him a little more properly. "I'm not leaving," she promised. She was more stubborn than the moose. "I'm sorry, I know it's not your fault. I was just scared and stupid and I'm so sorry."
"I love you, Thomas, you're one of my best friends and I want us to be okay. I really want us to be okay." She clung to him, her breath shaky as she pressed her face into his shoulder.
