WHO: Annie and Archangel Michael
WHAT: The Hunter and the Angel.
WHERE: Second Street Deli, New York City.
WARNINGS: Neither Annie nor Michael mince words.

Betty had gotten her to her porch last night, and she didn't remember anything from then until this morning when she'd woken up on the couch. Daddy and Mom were nowhere to be found; the only living things she saw were Vesper and Roxy, curled up on each other in Roxy's bed in the hallway. It was probably good; she was quiet and just still sort of felt like thinking. But to think, she needed good food of a specific kind. For that, she had to go to New York.

She was in line now at Second Street, waiting for her pastrami sandwich and matzoh ball soup. Good thick comfort food.

Mikey was in line too, waiting on a kosher reuben and some of the same soup. The girl in line in front of him was pretty teeny, but she seemed to have good taste in things. But she looked really bummed out and sad, so he figured he'd do a good deed (he tried to do them pretty often, really, it seemed fitting).

"Hey, Sal, lemme pay for hers too, 'kay?" He winked at the guy behind the counter and handed over his debit card. "She seems like she needs some soup, and free soup's even tastier."
