Who: Luc and Meliai
What: Rescuing the damsel
Where: Manhattan
When: Wednesday!
Warnings: ... Uh... Maybe. It's Luc, so y'know.

As soon as the nature spirit gave the address, Luc tapped in and thought about the area around it. She wasn't kidding when she said there were very few trees and little dirt there, but it was lucky enough for the prince that he could also tap into the potted plants in any given area. There were a couple of potted topiaries at the entrance of the building, and he used them to pull himself to the area. He didn't take long to find the one girl who looked utterly lost and smelled like the birch forests of home, before he tapped her on her shoulder.

"Hi!" He exclaimed sweetly. "I was told that there was a dryad in distress?"

Meliai wore a white silken gown, and her feet were bare against the concrete. She jumped every time a car honked or drove too close to the bit of sidewalk she occupied. She'd found a window planter nearby, and dipped her fingers in the dirt, coaxing the basil leaves to grow up and wrap around her hand. It was soothing.

She flinched, started by the tap on her shoulder. She managed a smile when she saw who it was, though. "Prince Luc," she said, dipping her head in greeting. She disentangled herself from the basil, helping the plant settle back where she'd found it. "Hi."

Luc, on the other hand, was wearing clothes befitting the people that surrounded them -- a DKNY utility coat over a simple red t-shirt, a pair of expensive, dark jeans, and sneakers that probably cost a small fortune, not that she would know that. He smiled and bowed his own head in return, brushing his fingers over her cheek. "Let's find that place of yours, all right? Did you have a bag with you when you showed up? You were using a phone, I'm guessing, when you were posting, where'd that go?"

He was used to helping people with their phones and finding where they were supposed to go due to his job as a bartender who often called overindulged patrons cabs to get them home, and had recently gotten extremely good at explaining new technology to people of the Six Kingdoms. Andivad was utterly hopeless with it, and Jareth was even worse off.

Meliai liked it when he touched her cheek. His hands were warm, and reminded her of home. She smiled up at him, suddenly feeling willing to trust him with anything. How lucky to find not only someone from home, but a prince! If anyone could help her get back, it would be him.

"Oh..." She looked down at the area around her feet and didn't see the purse. She wasn't used to keeping track of such things. When she'd seen the basil, she'd forgotten about everything else, including her bag. She turned to look down the sidewalk where she'd been before and spotted the small bag. "There." Two teenage boys had seen it, too, and were moving to grab it.

Luc kissed her forehead quickly, "Just a second, then," and eased away from her, slowing the time around himself to the point where the boys were barely moving, one crouched and almost touching the bag. He walked quickly that direction, and picked up the bag, rumpling the would-be thief's hair, before sauntering back and letting time go back to normal.

To anyone else, three seconds had gone by, and it was as if a blur of speed had come and gone, and he'd barely left her side. He smiled to her, holding up the small purse. "Don't forget this, they have a lot of important things in them, sometimes." That said, he opened it as he stood close to her, letting her look with him. "Phone, hairbrush, lipstick," he murmured as he pushed around the things, and finally found the wallet with her ID in it, handing it to her.

"Ah, here we go."

Meliai nodded, having little time to do more than smile before he was back with her purse. "Thank you," she said. She peered in the purse as he went through it, confusion on her face. She couldn't really understand how any of the trinkets inside could be of much import to anyone; She had lived four decades without using any of them.

She took the ID when he handed it to her, looking down at it. Strange, to see a picture of herself that she didn't recall posing for. It had her name and listed places she did not know. "This is important?"

Luc smiled a little, "Humans are confusing creatures. They put so much value in such strange things, like these ID cards. Meliai, is it?" He said, reading it over her shoulder, "Such a lovely name. Well, let's see if we can't get you to the address." He put his arm around her waist. "Careful now, this might tingle," he whispered as he focused on the area the address was, finding a nice wealth of grass in a park across the way from the apartments, before shifting from where they were into a momentary aether, and back out to the ground. "There we go, sweetie. It should be just in front of us."

She nodded, smiling when he complimented her name. He was a very nice prince! Much sweeter than the rumors she had heard about the royal family made them out to be. "You are very kind," she told him just as he took a hold of her waist. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, tightening momentarily as the world around them shifted.

She breathed a soft sigh of relief as she felt cool grass beneath her feet. She curled her toes in the earth, smiling. "Hm?" She looked up at the building across from them. It looked nice enough, but it was more stone and concrete. "Must we?"
