WHO: Gabe and Lilo
WHAT: Talking over options and weddings.
WHERE: Hawaii
WARNINGS: Unlikely but possible.

It was late-ish when Gabriel staggered in the door, though not so late that Lilo would be worried. Hopefully. He'd been all over the fucking globe today - work, the shops, leaving a message for Qing, leaving a message for Raziel, speaking a little more with Singer. He was kind of hoping that he could tell Lilo the things he had to tell her over a hot meal. Or maybe taking a shower. Or lying in bed with no clothes on. Even celestials needed to relax.

Lilo heard him come in, and she padded out in a pair of his boxers and one of his undershirts. "Hey, you." Smiling, she moved to wrap her arms around him, kissing him lightly. He looked wiped out, and she brushed his hair out of his eyes. "Are you okay, baby?"

"Fine, just tired. We do like sleep." Gabriel smiled, returning the favor. "Had a hell of a lot to do today, and I gotta tell you about some of it. Can we take a bath or something? Or were you in bed?" It maybe sounded a little ... un-manly, but he could go for a snuggle.

"I was reading in bed, but I can take a bath with you if you want." She smiled and wrapped her arms around his waist. "C'mon, I'll run the water. What did you do?"

"Work, but I also went to get some information. I met your Bobby Singer, and I left notes for Raz and Qing to get a hold of me. We might be started on the right track for this ritual stuff." Gabe did manage a smile, though, as he went on. "I also stopped at a jewellery shop in Seattle. Had something ordered for me."

Lilo raised an eyebrow. The jewelry thing could wait. "What ritual are you thinking of? C'mon, bathtub time, we could stand to be less grimy."

He raised an eyebrow. "The ritual to make you immortal, to start with." He followed her up to the bathroom, shrugging out of his scrubs one piece at a time.

She smiled and ran her fingers through his hair. "I didn't want you to worry about that, Gabey. I'm glad that you are, but ... you're too good to worry about this, you know?"

"Well, it's gotta happen eventually. If you want it to." He kissed her. "Somebody's gotta worry about it." Gabe smiled, padding into their bathroom with her. Work that day had just gotten him thinking about families and all that. "I delivered twins today. Mother was in a car accident and she went into labor, but we saved both kids and her, too." He was grinning at the memory.

"Of course I want it to." She smiled and moved to start the water, turning the taps so that it would be warm but not burn her. She couldn't help but beam at how proud he looked at what he'd done. "You're wonderful, you know. Are you sure you want to do this? You know, with me?"

"It's bubblegum Mr. Bubble, so yeah." She ran her fingers through the water, making sure it was warm enough before slipping in. "I'm still sort of surprised... dunno, I'm just glad you like me still."

He had to practice a minor amount of restraint to just shake his head. "We gotta get you a self esteem, girl." It grated on him that she felt that way - he wouldn't yell at her, but it did make him want to smack a few humans around.

"That's not what I mean, it's more that you're just the most amazing person I've ever known, angel or otherwise. I'm just Lilo." She'd always felt like that since she was little, feeling like her older sister at the time had been more worthy of love, and even into her adulthood, she was in awe of her brothers. Brend was a prestigious chef, Cass was a scientist. Lilo was a beach bum.

"I literally could say the same." Gabe chuckled, looking over at her. "You don't have to believe me, but I have never met anybody with such a pure heart or sweet soul. And I can see that stuff." Raphael was the archangel who dealt with lovers, but he wasn't here. They'd found each other on their own. "I don't really care about anyone else. Well," he amended. "I mean, I care about other humans. But not like I care about you." He swatted her on the ass, hopefully to make her laugh. "Gonna join me?"

"Really? You can see my soul? Is it made of maple syrup?" She grinned and jumped when he swatted her, reaching back to bat at him playfully. She nodded, slipping out of the remainder of her clothes so she could get into the tub.

"I can actually. And no, it's made of turkey bacon." Gabe winked, making a mock-pained noise when she smacked him. He got his scrubs off and slid into the water, fairly sighing with how calm it felt.

"Yes." He was pretty certain of it, actually. "I know it sounds like an unbelievably long time, but it feels like nothing to me. It really does. It'll pass like a month for you now." He wrapped an arm around her. "There's so much to do and so many people to look after that time is ... I don't know, I don't notice it. And your soul is made of ... well, I don't know what it's really made of in terms of like ... real ingredients. It's just incredibly pure." He kissed her neck. "I can't think right now."

She smiled to herself, nodding. "It must feel like that." She wondered how it would feel to her when she eventually was bonded to him. She knew there would be pain that would come with outliving all of her mortal loved ones, but there was no guarantee that even with a normal lifespan that wouldn't happen anyway. Her family could all be hit by buses. Cass had made the importance of loving for the moment abundantly clear.

"Sorry, you're right, you're tired. Here." She wrapped her arms around him and just burrowed, glad he was around.

"I might drown." Gabe let himself sink lower in their tub as she wriggled closer to him, acting like he was being pushed under, if only because he knew she'd laugh. "I totally can't walk on water!" Actually, that might get difficult, if any human saw him struggling in the water. He couldn't very well just jump up.
