Entry tags:luc, penelope garcia

Who: Luc and Garcia
What: Meetings, remeetings, whatever you call 'em.
Where: Garcia's flat, London
When: Precisely 8pm on
Warnings: Probable.

With an eco-friendly grocery tote full of raw veggies, chicken bits, and spices, Luc arrived at the apartment steps of Garcia's flat. It was odd that there were so many people who recognized him, but not... him. He didn't know quite what to make of it. At least, however, they were right about his personality, from what they had told him. This Penelope woman had even cried due to the whole thing, and that beyond uncool for Luc. He didn't like seeing people cry, especially ladies that supposedly slept with him - and he was certain the other him had slept with her - so he had to see what was up with that.

He rapped his knuckles against her door at the strike of 8pm, and stepped back to let her see who it was, running a hand through his hair to get it out of his eyes, putting his weight on one foot, hoping what he just did was well worth the awkward he was feeling.

Garcia had been making tea with plans to spike theirs with vodka later on. She'd composed herself after crying on Reid for a while, and then realized she had to go home and doll herself up. She'd stayed with the same dress - a LBD with a red cardigan and red fuck me heels - that she'd worn to work, and refreshed her makeup. Her hair was down and newly curled when she opened the door.

"Hi," she murmured. It took her breath away almost; he was so much like her Luc, so much like the man she'd genuinely, honestly fallen in love with, that it was all she could do to keep from throwing her arms around his neck and snogging him hard. Instead, she stepped back a little, chuckling at how awkward it was.

"Hey now," Luc said as he stepped closer to her, putting his knuckle under her chin. "I know that's not the smile you want to be wearing right now, is it? May I come in?" He looked into her eyes and smiled. "And tell me all about this me that I'm not? I don't want to be a poor substitute."

She bit her lip, closing her eyes a little. "I just don't want to force you. Andy said you're not looking to settle down or anything, and the other you was... I don't know, we were together, I think. It was nice." She hated telling this new Luc things like this; what if she made him feel obligated? Trapped?

He chuckled and slipped in, setting the bag down so he could take her hands into his, which he did, bringing them up so he could kiss her knuckles. "I think he lucked out, then. Maybe give it some time, we can see if we can build that same momentum? I would hate to be shown up by a guy with my name and face," joked Luc. "But look at you, you're so vibrant, so beautiful. I don't see any reason on earth why you've got to be hung up on any guy so hard, huh? Come on, let me cook you dinner," he motioned to the bag, which also, on second look, also had a small carton of eggs, a package of bacon, and some half-and-half for breakfast.

She looked down at their hands, nodding. "Okay. It's just hard because you're so much like him. If you just looked like him, it would be different." She sniffed a bit, not letting go of his hand. "Oh, I made some tea. You're the bartender still, right? You know how to make a Russian tea room?" She reached down to grab the bag, smiling as she walked through the hanging beads that decorated the doorway to her kitchen.

He followed her and chuckled, "Well, I'm a bartender, I think I've got a few more customers to chuck out on the curb until I'm promoted to the bartender, but yeah. I can pour vodka into tea, that's pretty easy. Depending on what kind of tea it is, I'd even go so far as to recommend flavored vodka."

Luc arched a brow, then, and put his hand on her shoulder. "You shouldn't be so upset. I mean it. If that guy was even a little bit like me, kitten, you've got to know he's tore up about leaving you. You love him. There's no doubt in my mind that if he was with you for even more than two nights, he loved you too, all right?" He squeezed her shoulder and then started setting things from the bag out on the counter, and grabbed a frying pan. "And hell, Penelope, even if this doesn't work out, even if it's too weird for you, I'm sure that we'll still be good friends, okay?"

"Please, you'll be the bartender in no time." She rolled her eyes. "Girls leave better tips when the bartender's hot, and they spend more time around the bar trying to flirt with him. Trust me, I know this." She chuckled a little to herself, grinning back at him. "It's just earl grey, nothing fancy."

His hand on her shoulder was warm and immediately familiar. "Oh, gorgeous, I hope he's not upset. I hope wherever he is he's happy. And I want you to be happy too, which is why I'm trying not to be too stupid about this. If you end up with me or an entire cheerleading squad, you owe it to everyone to show off your ridiculously gorgeous smile." She offered him some of the tea so he could try it. "I have regular vodka and some sort of berry kind."

He grinned, "I don't have enough appendages for a whole cheerleading squad! Come on, be reasonable. Four at the most." That said, he took a sip of the tea, considered momentarily, and then nodded, "Berry would really work with that. So how about you? What do you do?" The way she was so unique with her style and so cheerful, he couldn't possibly guess.

"Last I saw, the point of more girls was so you could watch a few or swap out." She grinned and sighed. "At least, that's how it is with my fantasies about sports teams." Moving to grab the berry vodka, she chuckled. "Before I got here, I worked with the FBI in the Behavioral Analysis Unit. I'm an information analyst there. ... I'm the hacker girl Friday." She grinned and handed him the bottle. "I do the same thing here for whatever the British FBI thinger is called. It's icky and gross most of the time, but I help make it so bad people can't hurt other people again and bring some comfort to families. It's important."

Leaning against the counter, she smiled at him. "What about you, how do you know Andy?"

"The MI-5? That's really important work! Totally got me beat by a long shot in the brains department, that means," he said with a wink, spinning the bottle in his palm before pouring out the perfect amount for each cup. Luc turned and offered her a cup of tea, stirred to perfection, and shook his head, "Andivad is Queen Sarah's son, and she and I are about the same age, chronologically, so she and I got to know each other as friends. I know, I look under 30, probably will for a while, but yeah. Anyway, um. He and I saw each other a lot during big social to-dos. Usually, the Saturnalia ball held every year, or the Solstice parties that the Goblin kingdom likes to throw. Since my family's royalty, we kind of had to go." He sipped his tea before setting it down and starting to work on boiling some rice and put the chicken in the pan with some oil. It was going to be a stir fry.

"Thing is, though, dad's got two older sons, and all I'd wind up being is leverage in becoming some prize for a princess if I stuck around, so about 11 years ago, I came topside and haven't gone back. I like it up here, at least humans aren't stuck in the dark ages. Sure, it might be a polluted, crime-riddled wreck of a place, but it sure as hell beats armor suits and iron stoves."

"Yeah, but can I do flashy sexy things like that? No. How about you leave the hacking to me and I'll leave the gorgeous to you?" She grinned and took her cup, moving to hop up on the counter to watch him cook. "So you're a prince of one of the Six Kingdoms? Which one?" She chuckled and ducked her head, amused at her own knowledge of his home. "Movie geek, sorry. And yeah, it was like that with royalty here too a long time ago. First one got the crown, second went into the military and the third went into the clergy. I hope you're not sworn to chastity or anything." She couldn't help quipping.

"My father is Sylvanus, king of the nature spirits, and from what I've read here topside, he's also in charge of fertility and equal division of land. Whatever helps plants grow, or is technically the soul of a plant is under his domain. Dryads, nymphs, nixies. Andivad calls it the Dryad kingdom because that's primarily what he sticks his dick in," said Luc with a smirk, looking over his shoulder at her. "But we're more than that. Hell, here in London, you can't throw a stone without hitting a grotesque of my father. You've even got one on your building, and that's because humans like to be reminded of spring and summer. As for me, I'd technically fall under the category of satyr," he smirked. "The half goat thing's mostly a myth, though we've got some pretty weird looking creatures in the woods back home. Satyrs tend to be mostly human looking, but somewhere along the way, a human figured that what is hung like livestock should have the legs of livestock."

"Oh, wow!" She grinned and toed off her heels, exposing nails painted the same color. "I admit, I sort of miss the sun living here. That's fantastic, I'll have to look up things about the legends surrounding you and your dad." It made sense somehow - her Luc had been pretty fantastic too. Sniffing the air, she purred a little.

Unable to help herself, she hopped down off of the counter, moving behind him and wrapping her arms around his waist. "Thanks for doing this, sugar. You're good people no matter what you are."

"Most of them are false, and I'm pretty sure I'm a little too young to be myth yet," Luc said as he felt her arms move around him. With a quick shoving around of the chicken, he set the spatula aside and turned around in her arms, running his hand through her hair, "You're good people for letting me cook for you, for having me over. I don't mind it at all. You're good company, and you're easy on the eyes," he brushed his thumb over her cheek.

He murmured a little more quietly, then, looking her over, admiring the way her eyes seemed to sparkle, and how she had smile lines and soft, blushing cheeks, "You know what's occurred to me is that humans make up stories about the Six Kingdoms, to explain what they think might go on there. Because my father and his predecessors were rather fond of Crete and Greece, we're attributed to that pantheon, when I can't say I've ever even met a being from Olympus or Hades. I don't think my father has, either. And because Sarah's subjects are fond of Northern Europe and the UK, there's more about them there. Same goes for Queen Titania. But that's just my theory. For all I know, it's just utter coincidence that my father has the same name and duties as a lesser god in the Greek pantheon, and there's been stories of satyrs since time began."

"Still, I'd lie to read them." She smiled to herself, already feeling a desire to connect with this new version of him. Grinning when he turned around, she couldn't help but melt a little when his hands went into her hair. She wondered if he knew somehow that was her favorite place to be touched. "Probably. The grass is always greener, I think. When I was little, I wanted to go live with the fairies or the elves. But I'm sure there's lots of horrible things that go on in any world." She stroked his cheek gently before moving away. "Don't want you to burn something." Her fingers ran lightly over his arm before she moved to take a sip of her drink. She really hadn't wanted to move, but he was busy.

He looked over his shoulder at the food, "It can be left to cook for a while, nothing's going to burn," he promised, before finding a lid to put on the chicken. It needed to cook through, and it was on a low enough temperature where it wouldn't scorch if left to its own devices for a while. He turned back to face her and picked up his tea, "I told Sarah this a long time ago, but when she moved from this realm to ours, I thought it was mad of her to give up such an advanced, beautiful world for one that eschews technology in favor of magic. If they could co-exist more harmoniously, that would be ideal, but as it stands, I prefer it here. It's not all wine and roses underground, either. There's political crap in every world with leaders, and the more different the people are, the more diverse? The more easy it is to cast judgment on them for appearance." He shook his head and took a sip of his tea, "I couldn't live in a world that was so caught up in the shallow. I'd rather be here, where sexy, sweet women save the world, one keystroke at a time."

"Well, let's go sit then." She smiled and nodded toward the living room, taking a sip of her drink. She padded barefoot to sit on the couch, grinning at him. "Wherever we end up, we have to make sure we have a great family. Everyone in this world or any one. Love's what's the most important part of any world." She smiled and laughed out loud at his compliment. She'd missed the way he made her feel beautiful. "Whatever world you're in is better because you're there." She kissed him lightly on the cheek, afterward daubing the lipstick mark she left behind with her thumb.

He chuckled as she wiped away the lipstick, and closed his eyes, kissing her wrist, "Sweet of you to say so, Penelope," he murmured, having taken a seat close enough where they could touch, but gave her enough room not to feel crowded. He smirked a moment later, "So this other me had powers?" It was probably not entirely obvious at the moment, but every houseplant that Garcia owned had gotten more robust, healthy, and green in the time he'd been there - even the finicky orchid she had was blooming - but he didn't really think anything of it.

"I entirely hope for your sake that he had the power to stretch time like I do, or tonight's going to be really weird when you get to that point."

She couldn't really help it; between his familiarity and sweetness, she moved closer to him and let her head wrest on his shoulder. She'd appreciated the distance he gave, but it wasn't really necessary. "Mmhm. He was the son of God and a vampire, and had dominion over time." She smiled and nuzzled his neck a little, getting comfortable. "I'm used to it." She didn't want to mention how used to it, as she was trying to keep him unbiased.

He wrapped his arms around her, easy as anything. Just because this was a new lady, didn't mean that he was new to situations like this. he pressed a kiss to her neck and grinned against it. "Good. I might not have dominion over time, but I can fiddle with it." He murmured against her neck, "Now tell me that's Music you're wearing, that's an awesome perfume."

He was warm, and she made a happy sort of noise as she snuggled closer. "Fiddling makes sense. What else can you do? And you're obviously good with your nose. Makes a girl wonder what other body parts you're good with." She grinned at herself. Even when she was sad, she couldn't help flirting.

"All of them," he retorted to her flirt, pressing a quick kiss to the curve of her jaw. "Mm, I'm good with plants. I help them grow, speak to them, save them from disease. Stuff like that." He pointed to one of her plants so she'd pay attention as he gave it a little extra coaxing so that it would bud and grow new leaves. It did after a second or two, looking for all the world like it was actually happy, if plants could look that way.

"Like every living thing, kitten, they just like to feel important and loved. Hang on, I've got to go stir the food. Back in a minute." He left a brief kiss to the corner of her lips before he stood and walked off to go do just that. When he returned, however, he had taken off the button-down shirt he'd been wearing, and had it slung over his shoulder, revealing his sleeveless white undershirt. "See, I like pets just fine, but I prefer plants. They're just like pets, except you don't have to spend anything on kibble, and don't have to worry about them shitting on your carpet. They're just as affectionate as any reptile or bird, and I could go so far as to say there's some plants that can be as affectionate as cats or dogs."

"I hope I wasn't taking really bad care of them." She smiled stupidly at his kiss, watching him walk away. Oh, that had been one of her favorite parts of being around him. She chuckled when she saw that he'd taken off his button-down, moving back a little so he could return to the couch. "What kinds are those? I hope we have them here." "Well, they seem happy enough that you're here, though they've told me you left for a time. They like you," Luc mentioned as he sat back down, putting his arms back around her. "as for the affectionate types, I'd say trees are most affectionate. Especially the ones that bear fruit. Pomegranate, oranges... There's this apricot tree in one of the yards near my apartment and she's... Well, do you know those little old ladies with enough sweetness to make an elephant go into diabetic shock? She's like that. Extremely sweet, just like her fruit. Even humans can feel that affection, it's not just a nature spirit thing." "I was here for a while, then I was gone, but I came back right to the same apartment. I felt awful, they were nearly dead, but I nurtured them all back." She chuckled and leaned against him, listening to him talk about trees. "I kind of know what you mean. My parents were hippies, and there was this willow tree in our backyard. I used to sit under it every day and read or draw, and I always felt comfortable. Like I was safe somehow." She closed her eyes as he kneaded her shoulders, letting her head go slack so he could rub where he wanted. "I missed it when I went to college." Her parents had died shortly after that, and her home hadn't felt like a home at all after that.

"Willows are so sweet, they're like comforting mothers and wise fathers, playful sisters and brothers..." Agreed Luc, who grinned, "I'm sure that the willow missed you, as well. "Computer science, but I dropped out." She purred a little, smiling to herself. "My parents died in a car accident, and I just ... it was a really dark time, and I wasn't focused on school at all. But it all worked out, I got recruited by the FBI not too long after that." "I'd considered going to college, but I hear they need paperwork saying you've graduated from high school, so I'm out of luck on that end," Luc said, "I got my mixology degree, but that hardly counts." He easily unhooked her bra from outside the dress, and continued down her spine.

"No, I'm not really close to any of my family," he said, his tone soft, still in a positive, happy range, "I left that all behind. I was, once, I suppose, but I had a falling out when I left, so we haven't really talked in ages. In fact, with the exception of Sarah and Andivad, I don't talk to much of anyone from back home."

"If you still want to go, I could arrange that for you." She smiled a little to herself, looking over her shoulder at him. Squeaking faintly in surprise when he unhooked her bra, she still relaxed into his hands. It was a bit sad to hear that this Luc wasn't close to his family, but she sort of understood why. "Well, that just means you can make a family, right? Listen to me, already worrying and fussing over you." "There's nothing to fuss over, really," Luc chuckled, amused by her squeak, but kept on going, "I'm happy here. Family's nice, but it's not the end of the world if you don't have it. I much prefer friends that you can rely on, than a family you can't. I mean, think about it. I've been topside for eleven years now, and not once have they come to fetch me, not once have they come to visit. I've got friends who call me just to tell me what kind of disgusting thing they picked out of their ears today, up here. I have friends who text me with a smile, just to show me they care. That's what it's all about. I don't care how inane and minor it seems, that's really what it's all about. Showing that no matter what, you're there, caring." He leaned forward to kiss her cheek. "Good. All that matters is that you're happy here. Families aren't just the people we're related to. Those friends you told me about are your family too. Hell, you just met me, and I know no matter what ends up happening with us, I'm always going to worry about you. So there." She smiled when he kissed her, and nodded. He slipped away once more and held her hand briefly. "I will promise to let you worry about me AND make lasagna, but for right now, let's just stick to this night." He squeezed her hand, and walked back to the kitchen, staying in there for a while. He had to cut up the veggies and toss them in, as well as stir in the spices and sauces he brought along, before he also tossed in the rice. It was one thing he truly enjoyed, cooking. It made him feel downright domesticated. "So," Luc called from the kitchen, "mind if I take a little more of this vodka? I've got a high tolerance, and I don't want to make you feel like you're the only one getting a buzz."

She nodded to his idea, figuring that he was right - why worry about tomorrow? Normally she tried to live in the moment, but he was throwing her a bit off.

Stretching out on her couch, she took off her bracelets and set them on the coffee table. He was going to be in the kitchen for a while, so she figured she'd get comfortable. "Not at all, have at, I don't drink much anyway."
