"Mm, it's all madness, but there's method to it," Bill said, smiling subtly at the sound she made to the wine, "Here, I'll show you how it works first, then." He pulled off his talisman, handing it to her, "Hold this," he instructed, before he pulled out a small UV pocket light, and turned it on, holding it over his hand, letting the skin sizzle and burn beneath its rays. He grit his teeth and continued, "It's a weak comparison to th'sun, I admit, but I've been walkin' in th'day my whole existence and th'worst I had was a sunburn back when I was fully human, and that was when I wasn't wearin' it." He nodded to her, then, and smirked, "Look, you're not at all harmed, are you?"
He put the light over her hands then, and looked at them, smiling faintly, his tone secretive, "You'd be burning away without my talisman in your hands." He turned off the light and set it aside, taking the talisman back and putting it around his neck once more, tucking it under his shirt. "Mayan secret, that. A rune they had in th'temple of th'Sun, to ward it away with th'greatest power available."
