Who: Tachikoma and Guerrero
When: During this thread
Warnings: Maybe some cursing from Guerrero, that's about it.

They're bad guys! They're terrorists that blackmail people and hack into people's brains and kill them or sell brains on the black market and stuff. :(

There was one guy that wasn't bad though, I think....

Tachikoma was sitting on a park bench, trying to remember what happened to the Laughing Man. They'd thought he was just a normal bad guy, but he'd turned out to be a kid trying to expose a medical company that was lying to people and making people sick. Eventually, Section 9 had teamed up to help him. So not all hackers were bad. These were complicated things for her to ponder, but she was better at them than those silly androids. Their brains would probably explode, just thinking about it.

So Tachikoma was sitting there, looking deep in thought as she sent the reply to the website.

Guerrero was replying by text, he often claimed to be a native New Yorker, which meant that he was good at doing things like walking and texting at the same time. It was anyone's guess if he was a native New Yorker or not, it was possible that the Old Man knew, and Chance, but anyone else would just be guessing.

He was getting used to New Orleans, he'd visited before, but never for an extended period, but he liked the city as much as he liked anywhere else, and the fact that even though it was an alternate universe he still had a job? He was cool with that.

He had actually walked past the girl on the bench before realizing that she was either a doppelganger, or was the girl he was talking to, he figured it was worth a shot, "Hi, I'm Guerrero."

Tach blinked a few times, looking up. "Oh, hi!" Her voice was a little high-pitched, and might become a little grating if a person wasn't programmed to appreciate cuteness. "You're the guy from the boards!" Tach often forgot to introduce herself, or provide any useful information when she was talking to new people, but it seemed like Guerrero had a good idea what was going on already.

A few seconds after Guerrero had hit 'send' on his phone, Tach's eyes broke contact with Guerrero's, seeming to lose focus as she paid attention to something else. Then she looked back at him, tilting her head "It is? They don't do that where you're from?"

The voice was putting Guerrero on edge, just a little, and he glanced at his phone, then back at her, then at his phone again before closing it and pocketing it, "Yeah, I am, and you're the girl who comes from a place with brain-stealing hackers."

He shrugged at the question, "Nope, they don't do that where I'm from. Mostly just get into computer systems, protected files and stuff." He almost smiled then, "The really good ones can get into buildings just like they're supposed to be there." Which just happened to be a hobby of his.

"They didn't steal them, they hacked them. This one guy used to hack people's eyes, and then they'd drive off the sides of roads and stuff." The tone she used was the same one people might use to tell scary stories around a campfire.

Guerrero's phone beeped to let him know that there was a reply to his message. Tach didn't seem to have a phone or any other kind of electronic device on her. "They do that, too." Tach shrugged. "Sometimes I did that. But only when the Major told me too, and we're good guys so it's okay." She grinned and bounced once, perkily.

There was more blinking, and another phone-to-Tach and back glance, one brow arching over the rim of his glasses, "Nothing wrong with shooting stuff."

He shook his head then, "Okay I give up, how'd you do that?" He held up the phone, jostling it slightly to indicate the message she'd just posted.

"Do what?" she asked innocently, legs dangling from the bench. She shrugged when she saw the message on his phone. "I just can. They linked my A.I. to the internet back when they built me." She grinned.

"There's not as much stuff in there now as there is in the future, though. That was weird when I first got here, it was like living in a cave." There had been quite a long adjustment period for Tach, but she had mostly gotten used to living in this decade.

Well that made sense, except for the fact that AI was pretty damn limited, even for the people who were working on it right that moment.

Then again, she had said she was from the future, so that probably had part of it. In any case, it made sense, and Guerrero was willing to roll with it, "That's pretty cool. What kind of interface is it? Like, projection screens on your corneas or what?"

"I don't know, I guess so," she said, shrugging. "I didn't have corneas back then. I'm mostly regular 'I' now, I think." She hadn't been looked at by any doctors or scientists to confirm that, but she knew she didn't have any tank parts anymore. "I don't drink oil anymore!"

She did still like the feeling of being on wheels, though, which is why she was wearing roller skates now. "Hey, so you're good at hiding stuff?"

"Trust me, nobody's just regular I." There was that almost-there smile again. Guerrero wasn't a guy who smiled much, if ever, and it was possible that he'd forgotten how, if he'd ever known.

"Yeah, well, sort of. It's not so much hiding it as making sure nobody else can find it." This really was different as far as he was concerned, "Not quite the same thing."

Tach giggled at that, amused more by his amusement than anything else. He was funny. She liked him. "Well, I'm not Artificial anymore. I got human parts now!" she said, holding out her hands and wiggling her fingers to demonstrate.

"Oooh," she said, nodding sagely. "Can you do it with people, too? Or teach people how to do it themselves?" Tach didn't have interest in any nefarious activities, but her boyfriend definitely had the advantage when they played hide-and-seek, and it would be fun to level the playing field.

"Which makes you organic-I instead of artificial. Not regular, no such thing." he shrugged, "And it's been a while since I've had to make a person disappear." He had to stop himself from saying 'body', "Usually just takes some creative record-keeping."

"Oh," she said, grinning. OI. That seemed silly. She tilted her head to the side. Record-keeping? They usually didn't check any records during hide-and-seek, unless Tach was cheating and trying to follow Wally by GPS. "Records? I don't think that would work."

"Works better than a shallow grave by a riverbank." He said, matter-of-factly, brow quirking again, "That kind of thing's just asking for trouble."

He shook his head then, "Why do you ask?"

Tach's eyes widened at that remark. That hadn't been what she was thinking of, at all. "I just wanted to get better at hide-and-seek," she admitted. "I don't have a camouflage net anymore."

"Oh, well that's easier." He shrugged again, the movement was almost a nervous tic, but not really, "Just have to learn how to blend into your surroundings. But not too well or you'll stick out even worse."

Tach quirked her head to the side. "But I don't have my camouflage net." Hadn't she just said that? Silly Guerrero. Wally could blend in without special technology, but he was special. He didn't even try. She didn't know how to do that.

"Yeah, you mentioned that." He said, "Which just means you'll have to do it the same way everybody else does."

He settled on the other end of the bench, Guerrero was one of those people who could make himself comfortable and at home just about anywhere, "Normally I'd say ditch the skates, but a town like this? Nobody's going to notice." He wasn't sure, really, why he was helping her, aside from the fact that he didn't have anything else to do.

She pouted a little at his pronouncement, but it only lasted a second. She was very cooperative, and a quick learner. As he sat down, she turned to angle herself so she was facing him. He had her undivided attention.

She nodded when he mentioned the skates. She had learned how to walk without them now, but she still preferred rolling to walking. "I can be pretty quiet on them," she said. Roller skating stealthily was an art.

He nodded, "Hardest part is the observation part, just have to case the place for a day or two if you've got time. Look like you belong, or something that's not too out of place, being a tourist always makes for good cover." He nodded towards a couple strolling along the riverwalk, "Those two? Definitely natives, just pretending not to be, probably to keep the actual tourists off, it's a good ploy, as far as it goes."

Tach frowned. "I don't get it," she said, looking at the couple. "How come those tourists over there are pretending to be natives?" she asked, pointing at another couple. If it was so great to look like a tourist, why would tourists try to look like natives? "Why's everybody pretending? Is it like a game?"

He tilted his head, studying the couple she'd pointed out before arching a brow at her, "You're good, I hadn't got them pegged yet. Huh." He shrugged then, "Might be they've been here before and don't want the natives to treat them different because they're tourists. So, yeah, I guess it is like a game."

Tach wrinkled her nose a little at all the complex explanations of the odd behaviors. Humans were silly! "Are there points, at least?" Something to make sense out things, and numbers usually did that quite nicely.

So, she had to scout out the area ahead of time. It seemed sort of like cheating, for hide-and-seek, but Walt did have the advantage already. "So I should bring a disguise!" That she could do.

"Sort of." He said, shrugging, "It's more like Capture the Flag or something, where you can't let the other team know what you're up to." Another shrug, "Espionage, you know."

"Oooh, espionage!" Tach said, her eyes widening in excitement. She liked anything that made her feel like she was taking part in something top secret, like her old job. Tach fell into a rich person's life, and didn't have to work. It was probably a good thing, since her transition to being human hadn't exactly been easy or quick. Her personality might make holding down a normal job somewhat difficult. But she really missed going on missions and being part of a team.

"I'm good at espionage!"
