Entry tags:candy quackenbush, mia dearden

Who: Candy Quackenbush and Mia Dearden.
What: Hanging out..
When: Friday afternoon.
Where: Out and about.
Warnings: Swearing, but otherwise, doubtful.

Candy waited for Mia after Mia's last class. She'd seen her on the forums and figured she should hang out with the new kid. Even though it was Candy's last semester, and she knew she was soon bound to live in the Dreaming, she still liked friends.

"Maybe you'll find another, one day." Mia wasn't really in a rush. She had enough issues with guys for a lifetime. It would be nice--really nice--to find a genuinely good guy that she could love, but with everything... she wasn't going to hold her breath.

"I hope so, eventually. She took a swig of her soda, content to be in the warm pizza place with a friend.

Mia paused, looking over at Candy. "Is there anything I can do to help? I mean. You don't think he'll get violent or anything, do you?" She was worried about her friend. It was a tricky situation.

"I don't think so. I mean, we've talked about it before. He probably already knows I'm thinking of it. I just won't go back to the Dreaming except to tell him." She looked at her necklace, at the black opal resting on her chest. "I still feel terrible."

Mia nodded. "Okay, good. If you need back up..." Not everybody needed a crime fighter with a quiver full of arrows at their backs, "or emotional support or whatever, I'm there for you." She knew how hard it could be to leave.

"Don't feel terrible. It's not your fault."

"Thanks. For everything, really." She smiled and hopped up to go to the counter to get another slice of pizza. "You still hungry?"

"No problem," she said, with a small smile and a shrug. "Didn't tell you anything you didn't already know." She shook her head at the offer of food. "Oh, do they have cookies?"

"It's still nice to have a friend say it." She got herself a new slice of pizza and a cookie, and a cookie for Mia. Sitting back on her chair, she handed Mia her cookie. "Here."

"Thanks," she said, taking the cookie. "I just want my friends to be safe, y'know? I'm glad you felt like you could talk to me me." She smiled.

"Hey, we're friends, right?" She smiled right back at Mia. "That's what friends do."
