WHO: Annie and Keller
WHAT: VD Day Evening
WHERE: Chez Winchester the smaller
WARNINGS: Quite possible.

Shit shit shit. Annie looked around one more time to make sure the place didn't look like a total shithole. She'd put on real clothes (and reasonably attractive knickers, for that matter!) and finally figured things were good enough. She'd gotten Keller's basket of beef jerky out of her closet where she'd hidden it - there was no trusting Daddy around beef jerky. Now all she had to do was hang out til the door bell rang.

It didn't take him long to get there, he was good at that sort of thing, so it wasn't more than about fifteen minutes before the doorbell rang.

Keller had his helmet under one arm and a box in either hand. Sure, they were good old-fashioned olive drab, or scraped steel where the paint had chipped, but he'd tied one off with a pink ribbon on the handle and the other with red, "Hey." He said by way of greeting, smiling crookedly.

"Hey. Damn." Annie chuckled, taking his helmet, relieving him of some of the burden. "How's it going?" She pecked him on the cheek so as not to make him drop stuff, then grinned as she heard doggy nails on floor. "Roxy, heel!"

He shrugged, "Going fine so far." He laughed at Roxy's approach, setting the boxes down so that he could drop to her level, scratching her ears, "Good girl, making sure your family's okay." He beeped her nose then, "Don't let any zombies in, 'kay?" He unfolded again, hoisting both boxes again and leaning in to kiss Annie's cheek, "So, these are for you."

"Both of 'em?" She really looked at them for the first time, laughing a little at the olive drab boxes with the pink ribbons. "I've got yours in here." She nodded back toward the living room. "Want me to open 'em here?"

He nodded, "Yeah, both of 'em, well, there's a bag in the top of one of them for Princess, don't want her to feel left out y'know?" He knew full well that the clips were more likely to end up in his hair than anywhere, but the Box was good at taking them all out again without a trace and sometimes even without his noticing, so he was fine with it.

Annie blinked, unable to stop the very real smile. "She's not gonna let you leave the house." Annie chuckled, taking one of the boxes and setting it on the table. "Princess!"

It wasn't long before she heard the now-familiar clopping of wooden hands, and Princess came skittering into view. "Keller has something for you," Annie told her, watching the box take stock of Keller. Princess hopped the few feet over to Keller, paused, and then hopped in place, twice, three times, four times. "She wants up, I think. Come sit down." She flopped onto the closest couch, Princess close behind.

He nodded at that, settling on the other side of the couch, popping one of the boxes open to get the bag for Princess, handing it over and closing the box again before sliding them both over to Annie, "Okay, go."

The bag for Princess was full of sparkly hair clips and brightly colored ties. The boxes for Annie were basic survival gear, both normal people kind, like caribeners and firestarters and the like, and for Hunters, with rock salt and iron nails and other various and sundry odds and ends.

Princess clambered onto the arm of the couch closest to Keller, nosing into the bag and clapping her wooden hands when she saw what was in it. Annie watched Princess clap and jump and eventually nuzzle up to Keller's arm, and she laughed. "Pet her with the grain of the wood, if you want. That way, yeah."

With Princess happy and Roxy sitting on the floor watching, Annie opened the first box. Seeing the firestarters and ammo in its cases, she laughed delightedly. She dug into the other one, and saw the rock salt, the bag that sounded like it was full of nails, hopefully iron.

She looked up at him, feeling faintly awkward but not wanting to make too big a deal of it. "This will really come in handy." It was incredibly ... sweet, really. She hadn't thought he did 'sweet'.

"Good." He said with a nod, giving Princess another pet before reaching down to scritch Roxy's ears again, "I mean, figured it was stuff you probably already had or knew where to get, but having it all in one place is good." He shrugged. Any other time and he might have looked sheepish about it, but he didn't.

He was right, but still. It really was the thought that counted. Annie kissed him lightly. "It's really thoughtful, though. Thanks." She smiled, but stopped herself. "Hang on." She ducked into the living room quickly and brought out the basket she'd bought for him. "Had to hide it; my father is not to be trusted around beef jerky."

He laughed, shaking his head, "I don't think I'd trust a guy who was trustable around beef jerky." A one-shouldered shrug, "Even just jerky in general, really."

"Daddy will eat anything. And I mean anything. Those weird food shows on TV where they eat bugs and stuff? I'm pretty sure Daddy would be game." Annie shifted on the couch, sitting against his other side, letting Princess climb up the back of the couch. "Not too many girly clips, huh?" She teased the box. "He's a boy. Well, so is Soren, but he's a different kind of boy."

He huffed a laugh, shaking his head, though holding still when Princess moved it back into place where she wanted it, "I also have three sisters, so whatever, just as long as they're out again when I have to leave we're cool." A slight nod to Annie's first statement, "Yeah, eating anything, that's how Shortstack is. He does this communing with nature thing like, annually, where he goes out in the middle of nowhere with a knife and some clothesline, swear he thinks he's Bear Grylls."

She tried to remember. "That's ... Miniver, right? The one who called Mr. Brennan pretty?" She'd had a decent amount of dealings with Teague, but not the other Cheevy. They'd actually been kind of cute together, those three; reminded her a lot of her and Dani squabbling.

"Nah, Miniver's the other-brother." He said, "Shortstack's Teague, the one who bred." Because clearly that was a defining characteristic. He shrugged, "Shortstack and me were the ones who lived with all the sisters, other-brother was elsewhere."

"Right, Cass's dad. I knew Cassie and Sor in the place where I'm normally supposed to come from, and I'm kind of shocked that from what everybody tells me, Cassie's not a dick. Sor's not either, but I've met him." Annie stuck her legs out, crossing them with feet on the table. "Think I remember Miniver 'cause he was giving me shit." She cracked. "Not really, just poking me, I guess."

He shrugged again, "I don't know, really, I just see 'em sometimes at parties." Because invariably that was what both Teague and Miniver wanted for holidays, was for Keller to be there. Which was easier for him than trying to figure out what to buy them, so he went with it.

"You're not much for your family, are you?" She didn't say it to be mean, just curious. The idea of not being close to her family was completely alien to Annie. Roxy shifted, coming up to sit on Keller's feet.

He shrugged again, "No, not really." He said, adding, "But to be fair they aren't much into me either, honestly." Or at least they hadn't been, before everyone got yanked here into bizarro world.

He smiled crookedly at Roxy, shaking his head, "So I'm just supposed to stay right here?" He asked her, "Okay. If you insist."

"It's not a bad thing really. Just different than mine. You'll probably get nauseated, how close all of us are, should you see it up close." Annie chuckled, looking down at the dog. "You and Princess are totally trying to seduce him before I do, huh, girl." Roxy just whuffed and wagged her tail.

"Well maybe you should show them how it's done." He said, smiling crookedly, "And I'm cool with the family thing, as long as there aren't any like, group hugs. I don't do group hugs."

"Nah, just individual hugs, and only from me, really. I swear I'm the big cuddle slut." Well, he could probably guess that. She crawled into his lap, getting comfortable before going for a snog.

"oh, well that's fine." Was as far as he got before her kiss connected, and he murmured contentedly, returning it a moment later, one hand settling against her knee, since it was right there, and the other toying through her hair.

He really did have a pretty mouth. Annie smiled, her own hands going up to play with his hair. She knew he kinda liked it, or at least didn't object. She heard Princess tactfully crawl away, and had to laugh a little. She'd really have to let Princess braid the crap out of her hair as a thank-you.

He actually liked it quite a bit. It was some inherent Cheevy thing, apparently, and he made another contented noise at it, hand sliding slowly upwards from her knee.
