"I know." It was awkward in a lot of ways. It didn't help that Gar didn't know what to do with his body, which was unprecedented. In most situations, he would just curl up on Sophie's lap as a kitten, or do something cute as a puppy. He could sit on her shoulder or chase around a string. But now he didn't know if he should be standing or if he should sit on her bed or if he should pull up a chair. He didn't feel comfortable enough to make a decision either way, so he continued to stand.
A moment passed in silence, then he said, very quietly, "I'm sorry." Then, a bit louder, "I'm sorry, Sophie. I shouldn't have snapped at you. I shouldn't have gotten mad. It wasn't my place to yell at you for how you... well, I'm sorry, anyway."
