Who: Elliot, Johnny Hickory, Tachikoma
What: Epic scuffles, Halloween personality switches, ahoy!
Where: Pub o' Jour
When: Halloween's Eve (yeah we're early, impatient much?)
Warnings: Violence, cursing, candy corn

Johnny neatly dodged another giggling Tinkerbell on her way to the powder room, trying to not inhale the miasma of glitter following her. This was Tachi's first sortie out as a real pub musician. Bagpipes, of all the instruments to choose. He chuckled and shook his head. Made sense with the bubbly and beyond quirky robot-turned-girl and she had been practicing the aptly themed music for a good while.

Screwing the hat better to his head, he had chosen a respectable Zorro costume for the night's festivities, Johnny wandered on into the pub. The public was starting to mill and fill the area.

Tach hugged back, grinning. She didn't quite interpret his statement the way he might have meant it. She giggled. "That would be bad! Especially since I just had it repaired from Arth!" The volume on her bagpipes was working properly now.

She bounced up and down a few more times, fingers holding onto Johnny's arm. "You're still gonna play one with me, right?"

"Now Miss Tachikoma," he replied with a mock-affronted tone. "Have I ever presented myself as untrustworthy? I promised to accompany and accompany I shall."

His grin got crooked. "But you'll stand in front, all the men'll love your outfit more."

"Your outfit is good too!" she argued, reaching up to straighten Johnny's hat and brush her fingers over his mask. "Do you fence?" She grabbed the plastic rapier from his waist and took a step back, waving it at him menacingly and grinning.

He closed his eyes and scrunched his nose as she played with the hat and mask. It tickled!

"Aye, swash-swash buckle-buckle," he smirked, but jumped back in fright of her and the overgrown cocktail toothpick. "Ahh, save me from the desperada!"

Eliot had agreed to come out and see Tach play the bag pies. He wasn't a social creature by nature, and the idea of going to a pub on Halloween wasn't really his idea of fun. He didn't dress up, he wore jeans and a blue shirt, his hair hanging down. Casual, comfortable.

He went inside and sneered at the mass of people. He spotted Tach, and moved toward her, head and shoulders down to avoid as many people as he could. Seeing that Tach was involved in a conversation with someone else, he hovered back, eyes scanning the pub and taking it all in.

Tach giggled and lunged, tracing a 'T' across Johnny's chest. "Ha-ha!" she cried with a flourish before handing the plastic sword back to Johnny. "I should be somebody with swords next time," she said happily.

She glanced up and saw Eliot lurking around. She grinned and started to wave, but one of the bar employees tapped her elbow before she could go over to him. She was on! She nabbed Johnny's Zorro hat and put it on her head. It didn't go with her costume at all, but she grinned. "For luck!"

"Ohh, you got me!" He chuckled and took back the rapier. "Oh yes, let's arm you with pointy objects, booze and candy. That sounds like a plan."

He shook his head and surrendered, what harm would it do? "You are the bagpipe playing Major with a Zorro hat. Toss it to me after your first song, alright?"

He hugged her, and then smacked her butt lightly to the stage. "Break a leg, Tiny Tank!"

Eliot sneered at the two of them. He didn't know the guy, but he looked like no good, as far as Eliot was concerned, and he thought he was a pretty good judge of character.

But Tach was going on stage, and that was more important to Eliot than brooding about some stranger. He wanted to give his friend his full attention.

"Ooh, that sounds fun," she said of the combination. She hadn't had a chance to partake of booze or candy yet.

She settled the hat on her head and hugged him back, squealing when her ass was smacked. She climbed up on stage and started playing. It was a jaunty little tune--or as jaunty as anything in a minor key played on bagpipes can be. She'd practiced a lot, and she didn't make any mistakes. It was still bagpipes, though, which wasn't really everyone's cup of tea.

Johnny fought the crowds toward the bar. He wiggled in behind a tough-guy looking fellow with long hair, flagging down the bartender.

"Black and tan, please."

Tachi started up and there was a few cat calls, who could blame them? She grinned and started up, notes were clean and crisp, and she had a bounce that seemed to hit all listening. He cheered and hooted, spurring the crowd into it.

"She's a peach, ain't she?" He grinned and grabbed his drink.

Eliot wasn't feeling very personable, and responded with a growl. He didn't like this guy, and he wasn't the type to smile and play nice for the sake of keeping the peace. He offered no verbal response, but flagged the bartender and ordered himself a scotch.

It was Tachikoma's first time on stage, but she seemed to be a natural performer. She ate up the applause and catcalls alike, speeding up the tempo and dancing a bit. She finished the song with a flourish, then pulled the hat from her head and took a bow. She straightened up and tossed the hat straight to Johnny. She had excellent aim, though it was possible that Ellie might have been just a little bit in the way.

Johnny grimaced away from the brooding man and gestured to the bar man. This guy. His drink. Double it. On me. He slid the cash over discreetly.

He almost caught his hat when it plonked onto the grouch's head. There was a laugh as he gave an affronted squawk at being mistaken for the stranger.

"Sorry to say, but the hat clashes with the rest of your look," Johnny grinned good-naturedly at the guy. His tone was both friendly and cocky, an easy going guy but not a push-over. "Can I buy it from you with a drink?"

"You hitting on me?" Eliot growled, the words half slurred. Seemed like he was hitting on Tach a minute ago, there was definitely something going on between the two. Eliot did not like this, at all. "Don't."

Johnny slowly pointed up at his head to point out the loss of his hat and the presence of it on the other's head, eyebrows raised and an innocent expression.

"My. Hat."

His expression slowly went into an amused grin.

"If I was hitting on you, I'd probably have mentioned the high caliber of your backside."

Eliot flipped the hat off his head, dropping it neatly in Johnny's lap. "Don't go there, pal," he sneered. He spared a glance at Tach. If this guy was really sweet on her, or whatever, he wouldn't cause a scene while she was performing.

"Thank you, Senor," Johnny replied in a Zorro-accent before settling the hat back onto his head.

He smirked and nodded to the stage when the guy glanced Tachies way. Her instrument was unorthodox, but he was impressed with her stage presence and joi.

"She's something, ain't she? Had some trouble with the basics, but she's amazing easy to train. Faster than most."

Eliot's response was a grunt. He did not like this guy. He was not-liking him more with each syllable that fell out of his mouth. He flexed his fist, wanting to hit the guy on principle, but he held back.

"Aww come on. I mean, you'll hurt her feelings if she's playing her socks off and all you can do is grumble."

Johnny snuck up to the guy, hooked his fingers in the grim mouth and tugged them up and away, making him smile for once while Tachikoma played.

There was a five second delay, where Eliot just looked dumbstruck,a nd then instinctt kicked in. Eliot's response was to lash out, both hands moving to assault the guy. He wasn't thinking about Tach anymore, or anything else. He did not like to be touched, and this guy had just invaded his personal space in an unforgivable way.

Johnny wasn't stupid, he was ready the moment the idea hit him to pull the stunt. One arm went up to block himself and the other hand worked to intercept.

"Jesus, who shat in your Jack O'Lantern?!"

As she played, Tach had been scanning the crowd, looking around and recognizing different costumes. She was enjoying herself. Her eyes frequently swept back to Ellie and Johnny. She was glad that her friends were standing together.

At least, she had been until they started fighting. She stopped playing abruptly, which caused her bagpipes to sound something like a dying cow that was being attacked by zombies. She draped the instrument over her chair and climbed off the stage, trying to push her way through the crowd to reach them at the bar.

Eliot wasn't a big talker, especially when he was riled up. This guy had done a good job of it, and fast. Eliot was in no mood for games. He attempted a sucker punch, from the left, completely oblivious to everything else around him.

Johnny grinned, less cheerful and more toothy. This guy was huge, an inch to two taller, but half a foot more at least in width. Which mean Johnny'd have to be scrappy to keep standing, even in a Zorro outfit and long cloak. He blocked the punch, mostly, and half-stepped his elbow into Eliot's chest, going for a knee as well.

Too many people were trying to stop her to compliment her playing or buy her a drink. She didn't like to be rude, but she had to push a few of them out of the way. "Johnny! Ellie!" she cried as she got close enough to see them, but it was still too loud for them to hear her.

She didn't know why they were fighting, and she was a little confused about how she was feeling. She should be upset or scared for her friends, and part of her was.. But there was something else that she didn't quite understand.
