Melpomene was tired, and it wasn't simply because she hadn't slept in weeks. She was blessed with a family that was particularly skilled at getting on a girl's last nerve, and the last bit with Ares had been particularly exhausting.
She'd promised to come by once she was free, and she'd brought a peace offering in the form of Chinese, all piled lightly in a small cardboard box. She had stories to tell and, if lucky, maybe something else with which to wile away the hours. With a light bounce, she knocked on his door.
