Laurie still hadn't come to terms with the idea that she would have an actual real, live, change your life forever baby at the end of this whole pregnancy thing, so the idea that Eddie wasn't quite there yet wouldn't have surprised her much. It was generally something she didn't think about.
As Eddie entered and approached, she finally had to deal with something she'd been thinking about obsessively since he'd given her a time for coffee. The last time she saw him had been less than congenial, but it had been on different terms. He'd been the guy who tried to rape her mother, not the guy who fathered her. Where did it rank on the greeting scale? Hug seemed a bit weird, handshake seemed impersonal. Standing as he approached came off as formal, but not doing so seemed rude.
Opting to stand, she smiled at him. "Hi, Eddie. It has been along time. You look good."
