Who: The Joker and Candy Quackenbush
What: ...dude, it's the crazy horny people plot. He's been chasing her for almost a year. Figure it out.
When: Wednesday evening
Where: His warehouse
Warnings: ...again--crazy horny people plot.
Now this--this was a prize worth waiting for. Sure, it had taken a devious plot by powers unknown to get Candy to come running to him but, please! Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, or it'll explode. Or something. Anyway, he wasn't questioning it. He liked to imagine that it was just the insanity busting down some doors in her psyche, which would be brilliant if true, and, if it wasn't, he didn't particularly care.
As for not gloating--not very likely. No way, no how. Did she really expect that much of him?
He gave her directions to the warehouse he was holed up in (quaint, cozy, almost romantic, one could say, aside from scattered weapons of mass destruction and suspiciously shaped things shoved into dark corners and covered in sheets) and ordered the henchmen out (nice of that guy, the weird god one, to send over the ones with genetic enhancements. He'd have to thank him later. But with all the drooling and scales and general weirdness, they also were not really great for a romantic atmosphere). He'd given them money for ice cream (read: guns and high rise across town to work in) and now he had the place to himself.
When a knock came at one of the side doors, he answered in partial dress. He'd left the coat and tie elsewhere, and the cuffs of his green shirt were haphazardly buttoned. His makeup was halfway worn off, exposing some pink beneath the patches of white. "Hi there," he said, unable to keep the smugness out of his voice, unwilling to try.
