Entry tags:cable, domino

Who: Cable and Domino
What: relaxing, taking care of the babies, goblin attack!
Where: The Summers Complex, underground
When: early in the afternoon
Warnings: violence, cursing, adult themes

Domino hummed as she fed the babies, having found that they tended to behave better when she did so. Philip was finally up to a good weight for his age, and Moira was almost the size of a six month old. It made holding them an interesting affair, but Nate was making breakfast, and there was no way she was going to interupt that.

She adjusted Moira a little, to keep a good grip on her. "You know, nobody's going to have any question who Mo's daddy is. You two already look exactly alike, except for the skin thing."

Phil stopped bawling, and cried out for his parents in his head. Domino moved into the group, picking off the outer ogres one by one.

Dodge left, got one with a mace headed your way, kinda glowy, could be magic.

Cable rolled, and fired point blank into the thing, explosive shells taking it apart, in a shower of blood. He was up and moving as he snared another Ogre on his knife and tossed it into a second one.

He fired again at the main Ogres holding the kids, and grinned fiercely as one of them fell.

Then he was launching over the middle, Psimitar out and wading in against the last line of defense between him and the kids.

Domino couldn't touch the ogres in the middle with her bullets, but she mowed down the ones on the outside with abandon. How dare these bastards take her children, invade her home, ruin her day.

The sound of her rifle was deafening in the cavern, and a noise from the doorway they'd come in made Domino jump, just in time to get out of the way of the tunnel as it collapsed. She didn't have time to check it out now, but she was willing to bet they were stuck, now.

We've got to kill 'em all. The only way out is through.

The Psimitar was a whirling death stick, and he was the middle of it, moving forward. The ogres were starting to panic, and one of them moved as if to threaten the children, and sprouted the psimitar in their backs as Cable Screamed

Across the room, an echo came from the kids, and every Ogre in between them fell, clutching their heads, and then collapsing as Cable strode into them,, power lashing out, anger fully unleashed, and looking like a cross between a mad god and a berserker.

Domino screamed with him, raining bullets on the mages, whether she could hit them or not. Anger like she'd never known in all her life flooded her, and she wanted blood, not for money, not for kicks, but because these bastards needed to die in a way so horrible it would be remembered forever. She wanted to put the ogres' heads on spikes in the yard, to remind others what happened to people who messed with her children.

Once the ogres were down, she calmed, and then bolted for the children, slinging her rifle onto her back so she would be able to grab them both at once.

The kids calmed almost instantly when Domino grabbed them, and she held them close, shaking as she checked them for injuries.

Cable was there, hugging them all on the other side, and just filling their minds with love, warmth and hope. Thank the fates.

He was content to hold them, to keep them still for a moment.

"Safe again."

She shook and held the kids, keeping them between the larger bodies of their parents. "Thank God."

The babies calmed after a little while, and then began clamoring about how hungry they were. Domino looked around at the room. "Let's go into the hallway. . . I don't want to be shirtless in a room full of corpses."

Cable laughed and nodded, looting a few bodies as they went, and lifting a box or two to carry with them, leading the way until they were in the new hallway.

"Okay, I will watch, and you feed, okay?"

He set himself up to see down the hallway as he carefully checked out the boxes.

She nodded and set the things she'd been carrying down, laying the babies gently on the floor as she reached back to undo her top.

"I need maternity armor. This is ridiculous." She stripped to the waist, after a bit, and soon both babies were sucking happily, and Domino was crouching with her back to the wall, sighing as the pressure eased in her breasts.

He checked out the hall as he eased the boxes open, finding food, some cups and plates of clay, and a few rings and a pair of gloves.

The gloves were armored and he slid them on, not noticing a ring sliding on a finger as he did so.

A map also showed up... he scrutinized it, and groaned. The only way up, was a long way. But nearby... yes!

He grinned as he looked up.

Domino craned her neck, peering at the items. "Too bad there wasn't any potable water. That's going to be the hardest thing to find. Though food will be good at the moment."

He grinned wider.

"Ahead, just a little, seems the ogres cleared out a cavebuilding... abandoned and fortresslike. And it has an underground river. We can hole up there for a day or two, and then get out of here."

"Alright. Once the kids are done eating we'll head that way. Shouldn't need more than a night's rest."

She held the kids close, stroking them with her fingers. "God, I was so worried, Nate."

He nodded, and smiled softly, holding them all again. He kissed her and felt weight lift from his shoulders.

"Me too, love. Me too."

Relief, love, and support, flowed along their link, supporting all of them.

The babies ate until Domino couldn't feed them anymore. They both needed to be changed as well, so Nathan got Phil and Domino kept Mo, changing her quickly.

"Nothing's ever scared me that much." It was kind of scary in and of itself. But she'd known that these children would be the most important thing in her life, even before they'd been conceived.

He stroked them all, then moved to change Phil, gentle hands and thoughts.

When he was done, he lifted Phil up and carried him, rocking him gently.

"Me too, Dom. Me too."

He smiled softly at her and the children, amazed at how much they were a part of his life, and amazed how much more real he felt.

She kissed Nathan, and dug in the bag for the sling that would hold Moira. "Here. She's probably going to drop off soon as the food settles."

She soon had Phil in his sling, her hands stroking him gently through the armor. "Alright, where's this hideout?"

He nodded and slipped it on, and smiled softly, stroking his child.

"Amazing children."

Then he sobered, lifted the boxes he had found, and led the way.

The tunnel was a short one, and led to the cavern, where a door made of steel, thick, opened into a large roomed area, that had, remarkably, been cleaned. It was a little dusty, but there was the sound of running water from another room, one a little lower than the rest.

"I think this could work..."

Domino followed, and looked around the room when they got there. "Not bad. It'll do."

She closed the door behind them and pulled out a blanket to lay Phil on. "Do you have one of those door alarm things we used to use?"

Now that the babies were safe, and they were relatively safe, she just wanted to grab Nathan and plaster him to the floor.

He nodded as he unpacked a blanket, and then went back into his pack, finding the alarmer. He set it up carefully on the main door, then nodded.

"That ought to make things a little more secure."

He grinned as he settled Mo to a little blanket nest, allowing her to rest there and he stroked her head. His depression, already stroked by the finding of his kids, seemed to be shifting, and he glanced at Domino. God, she looked hot...

Domino stripped out of her armor and set the front and back pieces carefully over the babies, just in case anything happened. "The water in the other room is running, so we can get cleaned off. Come on, you. We smell like a rotten slaughterhouse."

He slipped out of his clothing, groaning as he stripped, glad to get out of the clothing. He was hard as a rock already.

"Sounds good to me. Lead on, gorgeous."

He set a baby listener down, and carried the mate with him as he poked her.

Domino led the way, her pale skin nearly glowing in the strange light of the room.

The next room had a small waterfall that fed a stream. She stuck her hand in the water and shivered. "It's ice cold."

But it was better than being dirty. She slid under the water, quickly rubbing the gore off of her skin. "Oh God, it's so cold."
