who. Gar Logan and Rose Frost what. Hanging out on Valentine's Day where. Gar's place
Since she'd hit puberty, Valentine's Day had been the same tired thing year after year for Rose. There were always the handful of boys who tried to win her affection with candies or roses or balloons or song. Rose was never swayed by these weak attempts, but she did enjoy the attention. And the swag.
This year didn't seem different. By the end of the day, a dozen roses sat by her locker, balloons were tied onto her lock and a few cards had been slipped in the slots. Rose only spared these things the briefest of glances. It wasn't until she got home that she received a gift that actually caught her attention. And that was mostly because it was from Gar.
Rose hadn't really expected anything from him. She had the silly notion in her head that college boys (even ones as immature as Gar) were far too cool for Valentine's Day. So she hadn't gotten anything for him in return. After a few minutes of worrying for ideas, Rose decided to settle on something small. After all, she didn't want it to seem as though she'd tried too hard.
With a little shout that she'd be back later, Rose headed out of her home and into the city. She stopped by a store to pick up an ornate red card - heart shaped - which was pretty cheesy. After purchasing it, she wrote "You're pathetic. <3 Rose" in the center. That, along with chocolate and a single red Rose, would do for his Valentine's Day gift.
In another twenty minutes, Rose was standing outside of his apartment. She knocked, remembering that the last time she'd stood outside his apartment. She pushed the darker thoughts aside quickly and waited. Hopefully he was home. She hadn't really let him know she was coming over ahead of time.
