Who: Molly Hayes and Ahsoka Tano
Where: A bakery somewhere. The kind where they serve not-Cinnabons.
What: Friendship and so forth.
Warnings: Not really, save that Molly tries to cuss to seem tougher than she actually is.
Molly Hayes was thirteen, well-dressed, and extremely annoyed by the preceding points. The former was simply the bothersome onset of puberty which had been affecting her off and on since her mutant powers developed. It was usually easy to ignore it when she had been a runaway, too busy throwing men several times her size into the stratosphere to worry about her hormones. Living a relatively normal lifestyle, or at least as normal as a mutant in and out of foster homes got, forced her to deal with things.
The well-dressed part was annoying simply by virtue of what it represented. It was a foster home that wouldn't give up. She had a curfew. She had an allowance. And no matter how many times she ran away, she ended up right back there. Perhaps Molly should have been appreciative, but the problem was that she a) was extremely distrustful of adults, given what her parents had done, and b) still missed her parents, whatever they had done.
Her annoyance was mitigated, however, by the fact that she had just ordered a cinnamon bun which was literally the size of her head. Experience told her that her eyes might be bigger than her stomach. It was hard to care. Waiting for Ahsoka took on a secondary importance when there was also a delicious cinnamon pastry on the way that could probably level a small building.
