For a brief, childish moment, Carrie frowned and was tempted to shout at him that he shouldn't have left in the first place. But Bruce already knew that going had been a mistake. He was forced to pick up pieces that he hadn't left broken. It wasn't fair to him, but that was how it would be for a while. Carrie was still upset at him and it wasn't going to go away.
Her arms were crossed over her chest and her pose was defensive. In spite of this, there was something very soft in her face. "Even if he shows up again and somebody gets hurt? And," she paused for a second, "If you think you understand could you maybe tell me what the hell you were thinking? You didn't even say goodbye."
