Who: Fred Harkness, Jack Harkness (DW version), Tree Darkholme-Harkness
What: Going to go get booze, and then a maybe a crash
Where: Some random planet where there's hyperalcoholic lemonade
When: Starting yesterday Wednesday evening
Warnings: Lots. Cursing, some kinda blood/violence

Freddles had headed over to the house to meet up with one of her father's and one of her sisters. They were going to some planet to get lots of alien liquor and Fred was going to get to drive. After meeting up with Jack and Tree, they'd gotten into Jack's ship and headed off. This was nice, just the three of them hanging out together and she liked spending time with her family.

Their hands were full with lots of bags of booze, putting them back into the ship and ready to head home. "So am I driving us back home? Or do one of you guys wanna?"

Jack- being Jack- had decided to sample the local fare, and considering they were on a distillery planet, he was almost drunk. Which, for him, was quite the feat. When Fred offered up the keys he shook his head, holding up a slightly wavy hand.

"I'd probably be the worst choice here. Besides, she deserves to have love from someone else every once and a while."

Tree- being Tree- had done the same, doing her level best to keep up with her dad. She'd done a decent job of it, if she did say so herself and she was three sheets to the wind by the time they got back to Jack's ship.

"Captain Dad said I can drive her any time I want, and I live with him, so you go ahead, Freddiekins." Triesta hiccuped, giggling as she fell into the plush leather seats in her dad's ship, Chernobyl.

Maybe Fred had not drank as much as her father and her sister, but that's because she was driving right? Plus she had a really good system for drinks, being mostly Time Lord and all. She just grinned at them both and pulled the keys out of her pocket.

"All right then, everyone in.." she gestured for them to get in while she got the rest of the things in the ship and got in herself so that she could start Cherry up.

Hopping up with a familiar ease, Jack slipped into a seat and threw a leg over one of the arms, settling back with a soft little laugh.

"Y'know what? Not even making a joke." Which spoke volumes for just how tipsy he really was. "Just be gentle with her, yeah? Precious cargo," He glanced between the girls, and then back to the alcohol with an equal (if joking) fondness.

Triesta snorted at Jack's comments. "Yeah right Captain Dad, we both know you're talking about the booze." She laughed as the ship lurched into the air, just getting up off the ground.

Her hair switched from purple to blue to red to green, before settling back to a weird orange color. Lord, her hair was nuts when she was drunk.

"A joke? Did I say something funny?" she looked a little lost but that might have been the Doctor genes too. "Of course I will be careful, she's a ship.. you have to be careful with ships. I'm not like Dad, clanging away at the TARDIS."

She smirked and Fred started to fly them back home as gently as possible. Of course that couldn't account for the very big asshole who was flying around like... well an asshole. His ship was huge and he seemed to be coming right for them.

"You didn't, I was going to," But even Jack wasn't feeling dirty enough to make sex jokes about his daughters and his ship. Or, rather, he was feeling dirty enough, but the small sane part of his brain was keeping him from piping up with it.

Jack had started to relax a little- drunk was the closest he ever got to sleep, and he liked to enjoy the sort of blank feeling in his brain. He cracked an eye open to check the clock, just in time to see the ship headed toward them.

"Fuck, Fred, lookout!"

It would only have taken her a second, Tree thought before the asshole's ship slammed into them. She could have morphed into Hiro and teleported them and Cherry out of the way. But she wasn't quite that fast on her feet, especially when she was hammered.

The ship crushed into Cherry full force, steel shrieking in distress as Jack's ship hurtled through the atmosphere, careening out of control before it crashed full bore into the planet they'd just left. Tree's ever changing hair lay in limp tendrils of default blonde tinged with red, the blood of her father and sister staining it, the liquid running in sluggish rivers from all three people. As the smoke cleared, the lifeless bodies of all three inhabitants sprawled like broken dolls in the wreckage.

Try as Fred might she wasn't good enough to swerve out of the way fast enough to avoid the collision either. Before there was anytime to say anything else, the ship was flying through the hair not of it's own doing and making a crash landing on the surface. Fred lurched forward, slamming into metal and glass, going through it and tossing her body like a limp rag doll out onto the grass.

People were flocking of course, there was no way that anyone survived a crash like that. No one that wasn't them of course. There was something large and painful sticking out of Fred's side all the way through, but she looked pretty much dead. With the last bit of consciousness she had, she ripped the metal through her and knew just on instinct what was going to happen next before she passed out.

The first thing Jack thought of when he started coming to, was that he definately had a hang-over. There was no way his head could feel this bad, unless...

Smoke filled his lungs as he took a breath, and he coughed violently, feeling like there was a small building sitting on his chest. Or, as he noticed when he opened his eyes, a ship. His ship. Fred. Tree.

"Oh, fuck," He mumbled, the memories crashing back to him. He had no idea how long he'd been out, or what damage was still done to his body. The need to see his daughters took over, and he pulled himself out from under the metal heap, wrenching his way out with just a gash off of his chest.

He scrambled his way over to where the girls had been laid out, ignoring the frantic questions of the spectators. Was he fine? Obviously not. Jack couldn't even process the idea- after everything, all the struggle the past few weeks, and now they were just...

There were no tears- he almost hated himself for being too shocked to cry. But he just sat there, head bowed, fighting the urge to strangle the man still shouting in his ear.

No. This wasn't right. They couldn't be.

Having never died before, Tree had no idea that she'd inherited the ability of her father to come back from the dead, coupled with her mother's ability to heal injuries just by shape-shifting.

As she slowly came back to consciousness, her head lifting up from where her body had been drug out of the metal carnage, she was aware of her father sitting dumbfounded on the ground between her and Fred. The grief was evident on his face. Jack must think she and Fred were dead. And for all intents and purposes, Tree had been dead.

Disoriented from her revival, she coughed a little and sat up gingerly, her hair having switched from the blood stained blonde to a neon red. "Daddy?" she said softly, her vocal cords still a little bruised.

With the metal bit no longer sticking out, it was obvious that in order to repair herself and to stop the bleeding, Fred was going to have to regenerate. Her body started to tingle, and her eyes flashed open, inhaling a large breath. Vaguely she realized that Tree and Jack were there, not knowing if they had died or were going to die.

But one thing she couldn't do was have them near her when it started. And in front of all these people. "Oh not good. I'm..." she muttered, willing herself to get up to her knees so she could crawl away. "Stay back.." her body was starting to glow already and it would only be a minute before her body exploded in a stream of light.

Once Tree moved, Jack was crawling up to see her, reaching out to help her sit up. "Oh, baby. God. God, I'm here sweetie, are you-?" He was smiling, deliriously happy just to see her still breathing.

Once he heard Fred start to move, he turned to her as well, reaching out but hesitant to move and jar Tree. "Fred, sweetie what-? No, baby, don't... What's-?" He saw the glow, but had no idea what to think of it. His head was too scrambled to do the math. He was just too happy they were both alive.

"It's okay, Daddy. I'm all right. No pain, no injuries. I'm good, really. Are you okay? And what the hell is going on with Fred?!" Tree's eyes nearly bugged out of her head when she saw Fred bathed in a glow.

And suddenly, her sister combusted into white hot rays of light. Tree had to shield her eyes from the intensity of Fred.

Good god that hurt. She'd heard it hurt a lot when you died, and of course it did. Her body repaired itself while she started to change. Her features were changing even as the light poured out of her body, giving off the energy that was being used to repair the damage. It went on for a few minutes until Fred was completely a different person.

The weight of it all forced her down onto her knees after it went away an she sighed. "Bloody hell. I regenerated.. I did, didn't I?" Oh she had brown hair now. Like Pops and Dad.

Jack, still caught up in the post-death haze, wrapped his arms around Tree to shield her from the explosion of light. He didn't let up until he heard the voice from off next to him, and turned to see the brunette kneeling where Fred had once been.

Talking about regeneration. Of course.

"You- Fred, is that-?" He laughed, a bit of a hysterical sound, removing his arms from Tree and sitting back on his feet.

Tree didn't know if it was an after effect of having died and revived, or the fact that she was probably still plowed, but she just lost it and started laughing hysterically.

"Oh fuck me, we crashed...and we died... and now Fred's a brunette...What the hell are we going to tell everybody?"

"Yeah it's me.." she finally wobbled a bit to her feet and looked around. Her clothes didn't fit her anymore, she was taller and looked older and god knew what else. "You guys okay?" Well obviously they were alive but man, that was something. "We all died? Jesus.. it's a good thing we're.. us."

That was putting it mildly. "I don't know. What about the guy that hit us? Is he dead? How the hell are we going to get home?"

"You need to warn me about these things, girls, I thought you were-" It was there for just a second, all the rage and remorse he'd felt over them dying pushed into the growling phrase, something dark running across his features. It was gone as quickly as it'd come, and he took a deep breath to contain himself again.

"I'm going to assume he is. I haven't seen them pull anyone else out. And I- I don't know, I could probably try and get us a new ship." Scam them a new ship, really, but there was no reason to go advertizing the fact he was running through his list of cons in his head.

Tree stood up, brushing off the debris from the crash. Her ears perked up at Fred and Captain Dad talking about getting home.

"I believe I can be of some help there, family. Fear not, I will save us!" She ended it with a theatrical flourish as she morphed from pretty Tree into cute Asian Hiro Nakamura.

"All aboard the teleporting Tree," she giggled, her hands out to Jack and Fred.

"I would have warned you if I thought I was going to die suddenly. I didn't even know. I mean I didn't think I'd go this far with regenerating to be honest," she sighed a little bit. The idea of conning someone sounded fun actually, but she was most distressed. "Should we get more booze while we're.. back on this planet? I mean.. it was all destroyed."

She glanced at Tree, or rather Hiro and then Jack. "I can dash in and out, quick as a bunny."

People were probably still staring. "We shouldn't go home empty handed."

"After all that, hell yes we're getting more. You go ahead, Fred, I'll... handle, the crowd?" He looked at the diminishing crowd standing around them, sighing lightly.

"Yeah. Easy as pie," He turned on one of his charming grins, walking over to one of the men that seemed to be the leader, starting up a conversation.

Nodding her head, Tree plopped down amidst the wreckage. "Go for it, sis. We need much, MUCH more booze. As much as your Time Lady ass can haul."

Turning to look at her dad, she smiled. "So, what do you think? Can I pull off Asian?"

"Will do!" Fred put on her brightest smile to go back into the store they had just came out of. At least this way it didn't look like she was some alcoholic trying to score more booze. Another woman meant more money for them and no one was the wiser. She just had to remember what all to get and make sure she could carry it all.

Maybe this regeneration thing wouldn't be so bad.
