Kakia, Goddess of Vice and Immorality. ([info]whats_your_vice) wrote in [info]utr_logs,

Entry tags:daniel clemens, kakia

Who: Kakia and Father Daniel.
What: Coffee
Where: Coffee Shop
Warnings: It's coffee. With a priest. Doubtful.

She would have preferred a bar, but coffee would do fine, given the situation. A priest. Oh, she adored the clergy. They were so, so flawed, and so many of them were willing to sin when presented with the right offer. And as cliche as it might be? there was something that much sweeter to the feel of the holy falling. Sure, the church was filled with men and women all bitter and jaded and lacking faith, and they were just as fun to take down as well. but the ones who clung to their belief system even the slightest bit? Like nectar. She could only hope.

It was with a thought that had her arriving around the corner from the address offered, having no problem spotting her quarry as she moved toward the shop, her smile bright.

"You don't look that lost. Hello, I'm Kakia."

"Daniel Clemens," Daniel offered his hand. If she looked closely, his hair had that fresh fingered look, which was one of his nervous tics. Otherwise, he had to admit he looked pretty well together. "I'm pleased to meet you, and appreciate your coming to meet me so quickly."

She placed her hand in his, fingers curling around as she shook lightly, leaving her hand in his."And leave such a delightful looking stranger floundering? Consider me a good Samaritan."

She glanced from him to the the coffee shop and back, a brow raised lightly. "You'll want coffee before I try to explain. If you're sure you'd not rather a good whiskey? It's definitely a "You should be sitting down for this" sort of explanation."

Daniel shook his head. "I don't drink." He smiled a sweet, innocent smile. He wasn't nearly as wholesome as he pretended to be, but if he was being given a whole new start, he was going to try to make the most of it.

"Oh, really? How very upstanding of you. Then coffee it is. Shall we?"

She took a step toward the door and tugged it open, her other hand still in his effectively pulling him along.

"If you order some non-fat decaf drink, however, I might be upset."

Daniel laughed as he shook his head. "No, no. I'm a priest, not a saint." He smiled a little, looking to her face. "I need caffeine, just to get through the day, some days."

"That's probably for the best. I've yet to meet a saint that didn't bore me. Priests, on the other hand, well... I've always felt it good for the soul to help the clergy on their path."

Her smile was absolutely beaming, and there was just a bit of a bounce to her step.

"So what's your poison, as it were? My treat."

"I favor a caramel macchiato," Daniel replied. "If I let you buy, the next time is on me," he added with a little smile. He'd just have to make sure there was a next time, for he had a debt to repay.

"I suppose that's only fair. If you want to sit, I'll be right there."

Grinning, she moved to the coffee counter and ordered his macchiato, as well as her own drink - a convoluted mixture of different shots, with extra whipped, please- and took care of the whole paying, and tipping, and waiting for the drinks thing that one did in a coffee shop. Gathering the cups and napkins and such, she made her way over to wherever he'd decided to sit and took the nearest chair, offering him his drink.

"So... I guess you have questions about the tornado? I bet everything seems just a little bit off, hmm?"

Daniel nodded. He wrapped his hands around the paper cup, feeling the warmth through the protective cardboard holder. He drew the cup to his face and inhaled, savoring the rich aroma.

"For starters, what was it? Why? How? I...don't even know where to begin, actually."

"What was it? It was... a vortex, of some sort. At least that's how it's been explained by those who saw it. It basically picked you up from where you were, and brought you here. I don't think anyone knows why. But this place... It's not like your home. People aren't always what they seem, companies and places you knew might be similar, but just different enough that you know they're not the same.. and not everyone came from the same place, or time. I guess the best term is alternate universe? And no, I have no escaped from the local mental institute."

Daniel nodded. A noticeable difference, he thought,w as his collar. he hadn't been wearing it, at home. He'd been excommunicated, no longer allowed to serve the church, for his involvement in Father Thomas' murder.

"It all sounds too far fetched to be true, and yet..." His voice trailed off as he shook his head.

"I know. It's amazingly far fetched. And I pretty much promise that however strange it is for you? Someone's got something stranger. The boards, where you found me? Everyone there is either from another place, like we are, or related to someone from another place. And strange things happen. It's like String Theory."

Or it could be. She really had no idea what string theory was, but her niece had mentioned it, and it sounded as plausible as any other suggestion. She really didn't care about the why or how. She offered a smile, taking a sip at her own drink, nose wrinkling just a bit as the pure sugaryness of it hit her tastebuds.

"It does to be good for most folk. Personally? I'm a huge fan of this place. You meet the most fascinating people."

He took a sip of his coffee, the heat nearly burning his tongue. He took a breath, to try and cool the burn.

"I'm nearly certain I'm not fascinating." Daniel smiled. "Just a lowly priest. I do wonder if I might have a church here. I recently rediscovered my love for the work."

"Oh... I'm quite certain you are." A priest who believed in his work.... it was like he was trying to make her salivate. ignoring her coffee, she crossed her legs lightly and leaned forward, resting an elbow on the table as she looked at him, watching him intently, not even bothering to hide the gleam in her eyes.

"You should check your pockets. See who you are, here."

"Who I am?" Daniel questioned. "I am me." He hadn't managed to read that part of the website. In fact, he'd read very little of it at all. Still, he drew out his wallet and flipped it open.

"Father Benjamin Flannigan." He tossed the wallet on the table. "That's my picture but that isn't me." He shook his head. "I don't know any Father Benjamin Flannigan."

"And maybe there was no Father Flannigan where you were.. but now here, you've fallen into his life. If he has a parish, it's yours. Of course, you get a choice.. live the life you've fallen into, live the life you've always lived, or use this as a chance to make an entirely new life for yourself."

She eyed the wallet, then reached her hand out to rest on his arm. "Like I said, this place works oddly. Like you showing up here. I was just thinking the other day how I could use some spiritual guidance. If you decide to take his parish, I do hope you'll let me know."

Daniel nodded. "I hope he does. Did. I hope I do?" He frowned. "This is all very complicated." He'd thought himself relatively sane. Now, he wasn't so sure. Or maybe he was dreaming and it was all just a dream and he'd wake up. Maybe Father Thomas hadn't been murdered and ...

But he knew that wasn't the reality. Reality was right in front of him, in all it's confusing truth.

"And we haven't even gotten to portkeys, yet. Though, I don't really know how they work... I don't use them."

She took the wallet that was still on the table, and fingered through it lightly, finding a business card. "Oh, Father Daniel... It looks like it's your lucky day." She flipped the card toward him, showing it was his own... or Fr. Flannigan's, and listed his church information on it.

"Seems you do. And what was his is now yours. to do with what you please."

"Dare I ask what a Port Key is? And...where is Father Flannigan, if I'm to take over his parish?" The latter was the more pressing question, in Daniel's mind. He shifted slightly in his seat, ignoring the heat he felt swelling in his cock, the longer he talked to her. He was immune to such things as lust.

"They're... things that allow you to travel almost instantaneously from one spot to another. At least that's the way I understand it. I've never used them. As for Fr. Flannigan..."

She shrugged lightly, watching his face as she spoke, a smile teasing lightly at the corner of her lips. No one was really immune to vice. She tugged lightly at that small thread of lust she felt, and patted his knee lightly.

"It's probably best not to think about it too much. Maybe he went to your life? The way I understand it, his congregation will not realize you're not him."

"That...yeah. Okay." Both concepts were a lot to process and Daniel felt his mind wavering. he took a breath, and a sip of his coffee. The shock of heat was gone from the drink, though it was still quite warm, pleasantly warm to swallow. He focused on that, letting his mind take in the rest.

"I know, right? It's a lot. Especially if you're not used to things like this."

She took a sip of her own coffee, mostly for the sake of camaraderie, her one hand still resting on his knee, curiously amused that he didn't move it. While he mulled things over she watched him, trying to figure him out. It'd been years since she'd actually corrupted a member of the clergy, rather than just help one down the path of temptation they'd already tripped along on their own.

Daniel nodded. "Where I came from, I was removed from my position, because I investigated the murder of a priest, suspected of killing another man. It turned out my Cardinal was responsible for both deaths. I thought that was as crazy as my life would ever get." The nod turned to a shale of his head. "I don't even know where to begin, to process this. But. I have a parish. I have a church, again. Before Father Thomas was arrested, I worked in the offices, my superiors feeling my skills were better suited to fund raising, than moral lifting." He became aware he was rambling, and stopped himself with a little self chiding smile.

"Your church? Has always fascinated me. That something that started so small grew as immense as it did. Who would have thought monotheism would sweep the nation of rome like it did? And I imagine anything of that size must have its politicians and businessmen as well... in a way, it's it's own little nation. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of doing anything that one doesn't enjoy... Perhaps now you're getting a second shot at doing what you truly want."

She turned a bit in her seat to face him better, the hand not on his thigh reaching to take one of his hands.

"I should warn you, though... things here are not the same as they were back home. You're dealing with a lot of people that aren't your average man. You'll want to keep an open mind. There's not always one right and wrong."

He finally glanced down at her hand on his thigh, and swallowed a bit obviously, as his Adam's Apple bobbed. He cleared his throat, but didn't ask her to move it. He was far too polite for that. Instead, he gave her other hand a firm squeeze.

"I'll keep that in mind, thank you, for the advice." He smiled a little smile. "Will you be coming? The best way to learn about something is to experience it first hand."
