Who: Lilo, Stitch, and Teague Brennan.
What: Bringing home the (sort of) dog!
When: Sunday.
Where: The London Library then home.
Warnings: Cute?

Lilo tore through the house once she got off of the computer, running into where she knew Teague would likely be - the kitchen. Her bare feet slapped against the tile, and she panted as she opened her mouth to speak in out of breath run-on-sentences.

"TEAGUE-DAD. My dog's here and I just talked to him on the computer and he's at the London library can we go get him please I'll be really good and do extra chores and he's scared."

Teague was in the kitchen, as expected. He was washing out his paintbrushes in the sink, and when Lilo dashed in, all excitement and spazzy, he turned off the sink. He raised a brow to the fact that Stitched had showed up. "Is he still blue? Or did he turn human?" He asked, figuring if cars and ships and Shadows could turn human, so could aliens. "Hang on, let me set these out to dry and we'll go right away. Go get on your coat." He took a moment to set out his brushes, making sure they got air on all sides to dry, before he went to slip his shoes on.

"Do you think he'll be hungry?" He asked Lilo. "You should bring something for him to eat, just in case."

Lilo grinned and shook her head. "No, not blue, but still fluffy. He's person shaped." She gleed and scampered about, pulling on her boots and her winter coat. "He'll be STARVING, he always is. Can we bring him a sandwich?" She didn't want to go back into the kitchen - she had her shoes on, and didn't want to muddy the floor.

Teague grinned, grabbing his wallet and cigarettes. "I'll tell you what, we'll pick something up on the way back home." He spun his keys on his finger before palming them. "Let's go, shrimp."

He'd already told Brenda that they would have to be expecting Stitch, since they couldn't possibly break the two apart. That would be unfair, and he didn't want to anger aliens. Just, you know, as a matter of logic. He walked Lilo out to the car and made sure she was belted in right before getting in and started on their way to the library. "Now, you know him better than I ever could, you'll be in charge of getting him un-scared. I'll make sure he's fed."

It wasn't long before they arrived at the library.

Lilo gave Teague a little salute when he said that she was in charge of calming down Stitch and making sure he was not scared. She knew she could do it. She'd already fallen into a happy enough life with Teague and Brenda, and had taken to calling them "Teague-Dad" and "Brenda-Mom".

Once the car stopped at the library, Lilo looked up at Teague for half a moment before flinging the door open and running up the stairs. She wanted to yell for Stitch, but knew that was a bad idea. She hoped he was by the door.

Stitch's patience had lasted all of about ten minutes. That was a long time for him, and she should be proud!

He was... sort of near the door, he could see it from where he was holding onto a shelf, having climbed halfway up the side of it, there was quite a commotion due to this, some of the patrons thought he was going to jump, others thought it was a publicity stunt, and the staff didn't know what to think.

The highest-ranked librarian present was trying to talk him down and having absolutely no success, he was a small, harried-looking man who was currently wringing his necktie in frustration.

Teague killed the engine and slipped out of the car, running after Lilo, barely remembering to lock up the car on his way in. He finally caught up to her with a soft sigh of relief - that is, before he saw Stitch.

Who else would be climbing the shelves? "Lilo, I think that's your dog." He said, nudging her and pointing to the commotion, before walking towards it, clearing a path through the spectators for Lilo to get to the front of the crowd. He put his hand on the librarian's shoulder, "I'm sorry sir, he's with us. He's a performance artist. I'm Teague Brennan, and he's part of my crew." He offered the artist his card and turned his attention to the girl and her... um. Pet.

Lilo followed Teague's eyes upward, grinning when she recognized something within the man on top of the stacks as being her Stitch. "STITCH!" She said it in a hushed whisper which wasn't really that quiet in the end. "Come down so we can go home! And be careful, don't knock the books over you could hit that lady with the big hat in the head and she looks like she pinches." She waved wildly, bouncing on her toes with excitement.

The librarian blinked at the card, then at Teague, then at Stitch, then back to Teague, "Oh, I see, well that's quite alright then, though perhaps next time we could get some warning?"

Stitch beamed when he saw Lilo, "Hiiii!" He scrambled down the shelf just as nimbly as he'd climbed up. It was only when he was on the ground again that he realized what was wrong. He blinked, then again, then tilted his head, brow furrowing, "Lilo..." There was an expressive hand gesture, "Tiny." He shook his head, "What happen?"

Teague nodded, "Sorry, we did try giving the main office a call, but we never got through. I'll let you know if we pull stunts like this again. I'm incredibly sorry, you know how crossed wires go."

He looked down at Lilo and then back to Stitch, who was at least an inch taller than him. Maybe more. "There was a big whirlwind that took us from a different world and put us all in a similar world." He looked at Lilo, "It happens to a lot of people. And boats and ships and cars and creatures of all sorts." He looked back to Stitch, "And sometimes those cars and ships and creatures turn human." He smiled sweetly, "You hungry, Stitch? I'll get us all something to eat."

Lilo wrapped her arms around Stitch's legs as soon as he was close enough to do so. "I didn't get tiny, you got big. We're somewhere else where you're person-shaped." She reached up to take his hand, though it was less for her reassurance and mostly for his. "Teague-Dad's good, you'll like him." She grinned as he offered them food, reaching up to take his hand too.

The librarian just nodded at this explanation, he did, indeed, know how that went.

Stitch grinned again, hugging Lilo right back, even though he had to practically bend double to do so. At Teague's explanation he twisted around, attempting to see himself, "Stitch is people?" He laughed then, taking Lilo's hand happily enough, especially at the prospect of food, "Mmmm frenchfries!"

"Stitch is people, but you're still a good puppy." She grinned and squeezed his hand, swinging it excitedly. "Oh, frenchfries and maybe a hot dog?" She looked up at Teague hopefully. "So Brenda-Mom won't make a face at us eating leftover animal parts."

Teague grinned at them both, taking Lilo's hand, "Let's get going, my little troubadours. We'll send the library some compensation if we ruined anything." The second part was aimed at the librarian as he walked out of the library and back down to the car. "You'll like it at home, Stitch, and Lilo will tell you the rules."

"There's not too many rules, they're pretty much the same as they were at home." She grinned at Stitch, which required her to look up while moving. As such, she was glad to have two strong hands to hold, or else she would have fallen a few times over.

He blew a raspberry farewell at the library, waving, finally just stooping so that he could pick Lilo up completely, made things easier all around and amused him to no end that he could, "Pleh. Rules."

He was, however, prepared to listen, didn't mean he actually had to pay attention, but he'd listen all the same.

Teague grinned and let Stitch carry Lilo to the car, opening up the door to let Lilo in, "Get buckled up. Stitch, you can ride in back with her, but you need to use the seatbelt, too." He knew that although Stitch had the body and face of a young man, he was anything but.

Once he got into the car and started it up, he looked over his shoulder at the two. "Did I hear french fries being mentioned? I'll get McFood, if you promise not to tell Brenda. She's all about health junk. I wouldn't say it to her face before, but a man, and little girls.. and... Whatever Stitch is, cannot subsist on sprouts alone. To the greasepit!" He declared, driving off towards the closest McDonald's.

Lilo giggled when Stitch picked her up, and she wrapped tiny brown arms around his neck. She rewarded him with a peck on the cheek.

She showed Stitch how to fasten his seatbelt before putting on her own. At the mention of McDonald's, she reached over to high five Stitch. "Chicken nuggets! You love those! And toys!" Even though Lilo sometimes acted older than her age, she really was only six. Happy Meals were still high entertainment.

"YAY!" Was the response, looking utterly confused at the seatbelt and honestly thankful that Lilo was there to sort it out for him, giving it a tug once it was buckled, "Ohhhh, okay. Seatbelt." A nod then, having committed that piece of information to memory.

He poked Lilo's arm then, "Found you." Because clearly he'd been looking for her, otherwise he wouldn't have found her.

Teague grinned as he drove, shaking his head. Stitch really was quite fun, and he'd make a good addition to the madness. If anything, he'd be amusing to explain to Keller, once Christmas rolled around. He could imagine the explanation even now. "And this is our adopted daughter, Lilo, and her dog, Stitch. Yes, you heard me right. Stitch, please stop eating the couch, there's cheese and crackers in the kitchen."

Somehow, he figured things would work out fairly well. They pulled into the drive-thru and Teague rolled down his window. He ordered a double cheeseburger meal for himself, and two kid's meals, both chicken nuggets, one with a double order of the nuggets, especially for Stitch. He ordered milk with both meals, and a sprite for himself, and was altogether amused by the whole situation.

She squeezed Stitch's hand, smiling. "Found you too. Was I gone for a long time? I'm sorry if I made you worry." She leaned up to smile at Teague. "Thank you for letting me have my dog. I was worried. He's good, though, we won't be loud after bedtime or anything. Just don't let him have caffeine ever." She looked back at Stitch knowingly.

He shrugged, keeping hold of Lilo's hand, apparently not going to let her go just in case something came and swept her away again, "Not long. A little while."

There was a pout at the mention of not having any caffeine, "Coffee." Difficult to say if this was a request or a demand, or just pointing out things that had caffeine in them.

Teague chuckled, "He and Torii can mope over that together, then. Or they can spaz out together when they're allowed it, but it'll be her responsibility to clean up after him." He drove up to the window and paid for the food, which he handed back. "And here's dinner. Go ahead and eat it in the car, but throw the garbage in the little bag back there." He said, pointing to the garbage bag before starting off again, just to park the car and help with straws and unwrapping the toys.

"Thank you!" Lilo smiled at Teague when he handed her a container of milk with a straw in it, sipping happily before dumping out her fries inside the Happy Meal box. She did the same for Stitch, then deposited the wrappers in the garbage bag. She wasn't overly tidy by nature, but Teague and Brenda were, and they'd been very generous. She munched carefully, smiling over at Stitch from time to time.

He watched this process with no small amount of fascination, food that came in boxes. He drank enough of the milk so that it wouldn't overflow terribly when he decided to blow bubbles in it.

Ketchup packets were thrown into the box with the nuggets and the fries, shaking the whole thing before eating. It was quite possible, even highly likely, that he was actually making 'ohmnomnomnom' noises. After a few mouthfuls he remembered to say: "Thaaank you." And then in a conspiratorial tone to Lilo: "Torii?"

Teague grinned, a bit baffled by Stitch, but not entirely surprised. He took a bite of his burger after unwrapping it and adding fries just under both buns. His love for greasy, salty food would never be quenched or squashed by Brenda's good cooking, even if it was the best cooking on earth. It was no trouble at all for him to drive and eat at the same time, he was a road warrior of the Californian variety, and multitasking was vital to every Californian's driving.

Lilo smiled and wiped her hands on a napkin before explaining things to Stitch. "Okay. So, Nani isn't here, or David, or Jumbaa, or Plinkley. They think I don't have a family, so Teague-Dad and Brenda-Mom adopted me. They live in a really big, awesome house with other people. Torii-Sister is one of them, and so is Cass-Brother. And Stitch!" She grinned and ruffled his hair. "And there's paints and a warm bed and I'm going to go to school with pirates and maybe you can come!"

"PIRATES!?" This was the best news ever. In fact, his excited-startled flail probably scattered the remainder of his french fries, practically vibrating with something close to glee, "Where? Here?"

Careful with the fries, Stitch." Teague said in a stern, but friendly tone. "Yes, there's pirates here. My grandpa Bill and Jack are pirates, real ones. They're very smart, and Lilo really seems to like them. I can attest that they're good people." He took another bite of his burger and relaxed back into his seat.

Lilo helped Stitch clean up his fries, tossing them into the garbage along with her empty milk. "Yup! They're nice and they're going to teach me school things so I can teach you so you'll be the smartest you can be and you're already a genius, so there!" She patted him before returning to her nuggets. "I picked up the fries, Teague-Dad."

He looked sheepish for a moment, helping clean up the scattered fries, digging into the rest of his lunch just a little more calmly, listening to the explanation, nodding, "Ohhh, okay." He wasn't going to question how pirates had lived that long, as far as he knew they all did that, it was just that some had gotten other jobs.

Brenda had been slicing turtle bars before they could solidify in the baking pan, she beamed at the returning trio, though she blinked at Stitch, "That's... well, it's a good thing we've got room." She smiled, shaking her head, "C'mon in. Looks like someone got you lunch." She handed Stitch a paper towel for the ketchup.

Stitch blinked at this, nibbling a corner of it, "Pleh." Was the response, though the turtle bars got a close-as-he-could-get-without-burning-his-nose sniff

"Yup, got the kids some unhealthy, greasy, horrible fast food." Teague nodded, with his bag of fries in one hand, burger in the other. He looked around, "I'm actually pretty glad we decided to stay here, Bren. Our house in California is way too small for this family." He flopped down in a kitchen chair and made mooky eyes at her. "He was climbing the bookshelves at the library, but he cleans up after himself. Can we keep him? He's no worse than Torii."

Stitch went cross-eyed trying to follow Lilo's movement, only then realizing what she was doing, "Saving that for later!"

This caused Brenda to laugh before swatting Teague with the dishtowel, "Of course we can, we've got the room."

Stitch joined in the mooky eyes, giving Brenda a sudden, utterly heartfelt hug, "Thaaaankyou. Stitch stay with Lilo." He nodded decisively.
