Pepper had gotten a very drunk Steve as far as the couch the previous night before the man had passed out cold. It wasn't until near noon on Saturday that he even stirred, groaning in obvious pain as he felt what could have very well been an ice pick smashing through his skull. Sitting up - and almost instantly regretting it - he groaned again and buried his face in his hands.

That, he remembered, was why he didn't like to get drunk.

Heaving out a little sigh he tried to catch his thoughts that kept evading and getting away from him. Which really? Was annoying as hell. What were his thoughts thinking, just running away like that? Steve whined.

	At the moment Steve stirred on the couch, Tony was standing right beside it with a buttload of headache meds and a big glass of water. He knew that feeling all too well, and had a pretty good idea how much pain his friend was going to be in when he finally woke up from that drunken stupor. "Here. 	Tony just blinked at Steve like he'd grown two heads. "Reject you? Because you just wanted to talk? Half the time I've got my head in the clouds because, well," and he pointed towards upstairs where they both knew Pepper stayed. "Baby in two months. I hardly think about anything but that. He huffed a little bit, blushing about how much his behaviors sounded like a dog that didn't get enough attention. Looking away, ashamed, the man shrugged his shoulders in defeat.

"I'm sorry." Steve whispered, before once more hiding his face in his hands. His head was still throbbing, though the water and painkillers had at least taken the edge off. "I've been so lonely."

It'd probably be a while before Steve's head would be alright from that level of drinking he'd taken on last night, but it wasn't like Tony and Pepper would kick him out of their house. He was always welcome here. "You should have just said something, man." Poor Steve. He looked like he could use the world's biggest hug. He couldn't recall when he'd ever seen him this down.

Really, Steve hadn't felt this down since the start of the civil war, when Tony took one side and he had to take the other. Or maybe it was when the act was passed and he was sitting in his home, trying to draw, right before getting ambushed.

Whenever it had been, it was a long time ago and the man sighed, scrubbing a hand over his face.

"I'm sorry." He stated again, meekly. Obviously he did need a hug.

Pepper had been probably in the bathroom like she was normally when she wasn't in bed. But she hadn't braved the stairs back up yet, because well it was hard to. Not without help anyway. She came out of the bathroom quietly, finding them both out near the couch.

Steve was obviously awake. And looked hung over. So she quietly came and sat down beside him on the couch. "There's no reason to be sorry," she said quietly though she didn't know what he was sorry for. She just opened up her arms if he wanted a hug.

Was it bad Tony thought this had to be the sappiest thing he'd ever seen in his life? His best friend looking like he'd beat him with a rolled up newspaper like a puppy, and Pepper coming to give him a hug to make him feel better. "Please hug him. He looks like I took his favorite toy." Though this was kind of funny. It was sort of like they were Pepper's boys really. She did take care of them.

	"Shut up, Tony." Steve grumbled before he moved to cuddle into Pepper's arms. He rested her head against her chest. Her very...very squishy chest and nuzzled his cheek against her breast, listening to her heart beat. Sighing, the man closed his eyes and just sort of clung to Pepper like he'd wanted to do the previous night, but had passed out before he could. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Her arms wrapped around Steve tightly, not minding being cuddled into, even if he had his head against her chest. She kissed his temple and glanced up at Tony. "I wasn't aware I was a toy," she said amusedly. "If you stole his toy, maybe you should hug him." she rubbed Steve's back gently. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Tony just looked at Pepper, "Well, you're my favorite toy anyway." But she knew he was just kidding. Seriously? He needed to hug Steve? Man, dying must have really done a number on him, though Tony remembered similar feelings after he'd died and the subsequent loss of their baby. "The pillows are nice, aren't they, Steve? Can't blame you for wanting to cuddle in those."
