She opened her mouth to tell him to save it, but the words wouldn't form. Carrie didn't want his apologies. She wasn't quite sure what it was that she wanted from him.
It looked as though he wasn't going to run away just yet. Carrie sighed heavily, brushing damp strands of hair out of her face, and stepped to the side. The only reason her hand wasn't shaking was because her hands didn't do that. "Come in, I guess," she said, voice almost a whisper. When he made a move to enter, she added, "But don't think you're welcome here or anything."
