Even though he was kind of curious to meet this Johanna, he really kinda hoped she'd been sent away for the evening. Before anything he wanted time with his wife. His gorgeous, badass, motherfucking sexy wife. They had to talk, they had to catch up if she'd really been here for a couple of months. Months. In his world, they'd fucked, and she'd fallen asleep sucking at his cuts and bruises. Waking up alone had not been fun.

He rang the bell with a single dark rose in his hand, not quite sure what to expect.

She'd just sent away a client, a dottering old man who still protested their meetings being done after dark. As such, her crisply pressed suit was as dark as her eyes as she answered the door.

Calliope didn't move right away, not wanting to make a mistake. There were people who wore the same face, what if it was some sort of impostor? But no, his smell was unmistakably her Nick's, and she favored him with a tiny smile before ushering him inside.

	Nick smiled. "Hi, baby." He hung out at the doorstep, not quite sure what to do. She looked forbidding, like she didn't want to see him or something. He offered the rose, holding out a limp hand, feeling like it was their first date again. Then again, on their first date they'd killed a couple of babies. Whatever. (Reply to this)

	She sighed and gestured for him to come inside, shutting the door behind him. The rose was accepted gladly, and she tucked it into her perfect updo, smiling to herself. 	Nick blinked, the sheer surprise sending him a few steps to the left, though he smirked at the fingernails. There was a tiny trickle of blood on his cheek now, and he looked up at her. "What do you mean?" (Reply to this)

"You clearly don't trust me enough to be understanding about my ward. I would never have made a child with another man. You know the risks involved, and I wouldn't want the biological burden of something not made with you. If you don't trust me, get out before I make you." She grit her teeth and turned her head, stalking off toward her living room. "And furthermore? My reputation is mine to create. You take part in it."

Nick blinked hard, following her in. "Look," he snapped, uncharacteristically harsh, "how the fuck was I supposed to know? You said you were here months and you don't need me like I need you!"

He blinked again, surprised that just came out, and sighed, lowering his head. "I just ... I need you. You're so gorgeous and strong. I want to be sure everything's good ... I didn't mean to make you mad. Please."

	She did lick at the blood - tiny, kittenish laps that were more loving than any words she could muster. "Shhh," she soothed, running her fingers over his back. "You're here. Do you want the tour? Nick blinked, but just nodded. If anybody could make nice with a serial killer, it was another serial killer. And when she said the girl was locked up ... man, now he was curious. "'S a good thing you did then, baby," he replied, hand resting idly on her waist, at the top of her ass. Calliope was not the fuckin' maternal type, but it was different if it was kind of a kindred spirit. That was less a kid and more an equal, no matter what age.
