Who: Ganieda and her mother's boyfriend Dave (Dave's perspective)
What: Narrative with no dialogue [completed]
Where: The Davies' Apartment
When: Today-ish.
Ratings: None.

Dave went through the apartment, his first day there by himself now that Sadie was out working. He wanted something to eat and he was going to ask Ganieda for it. He was lousy at cooking, and the girl seemed really timid and she was small--he was sure she'd be easy to intimidate. He was a large man, but very good at being quiet, and he'd noticed that Ganieda (weird name--where the hell did Sadie find it?) seemed to block everything else out when she was studying. A good startle, that should get the girl's attention. But first, he very quietly cracked the door open to her room and peeked in. Maybe she was changing out of her uniform.

No such luck. But...

"Compy," Ganieda murmured, "can you find a page for me about the American Civil War? Thank you." Dave realized quickly that the computer was finding things by itself. Ganieda lifted up her hand and caught a book as it flew through the air into it. She brought it down and flipped through it, then held up her left hand and caught a pencil. Then she bent over her books as she wrote things down. Almost normal. Like this was something she did every day.

Dave, his eyes wide and terrified, backed slowly away, closing the door behind him. What on Earth was he living with?
